Between Two Burners Lies the Best Stovetop Griddle for Gas Stoves

A stovetop griddle on a gas range has one job the frying pan never had: it has to sit across two flames at once. Seven of the ten griddles on this page say they do exactly that. The Lodge “covers two burners”. The Nordic Ware, the Viking and the GreenPan each “spans two burners”. The Nutrichef is “Made to cover two burners”. The Vayepro is designed “to fit across two burners”, and its sister model has “2 Burner” in its title.

Those seven are not the same length. The shortest, the Lodge, is 16.75 inches. The longest, the Nutrichef, is 20 inches. In between sit the two Vayepros at 17, the Nordic Ware at 17.5, the GreenPan at 18 and the Viking at 19. That is a spread of 3.25 inches, by our arithmetic, for one and the same promise.

Not one of the seven says what burner spacing it was sized for. No listing gives a distance between burner centres. None says whether the pan should run front to back over one side of the hob or side to side across the front pair. The claim “two burners” assumes your two burners, and the only way to check it is with a tape measure on your own grates.

The other three listings break the pattern in three directions. The Amazon Basics cast iron griddle is 20 inches long, as long as the Nutrichef, and makes no burner claim at all. The GGC cast iron griddle gives a cooking area of 13 by 8.25 inches and makes none either. The Stanbroil skips the question by covering the whole hob: it is built “For Standard 30″ Ranges” with gas “up to 5 burners” and states 488 square inches of cooking surface.

Only three listings separate the cooking surface from the size of the pan. The Nordic Ware is 10.1 by 17.5 inches overall, with “a cooking surface of 10 x 16.5 inches”. The GGC is 13 by 8.25 inches to cook on and 15.5 inches long with its handles. The Stanbroil’s 488 square inches sit on a 28.4 by 19 inch plate, about 90% of it by our arithmetic. On the other seven, you cannot tell how much of the stated length is rim and handle.

Then comes the second split: what the food touches. Six are nonstick pans, four of them stated as aluminium, and they describe six different coatings. Three are cast iron, and they arrive in three different states: one “naturally nonstick”, one that “don’t have non-stick function”, and one that “Arrives unseasoned”. The tenth is bare steel with no coating stated. Six of the ten say outright that they are not for induction; if your next kitchen has an induction hob, our induction griddle pan guide covers pans that are.

And the most-bought griddle is the shortest two-burner pan. The Lodge ranks #1 in Griddles and #1,254 overall on Amazon. Its 16.75 inches is the least length any of the seven offers for a two-burner claim, and the safest bet if your burners are close together. Whether it is long enough for yours is something only your hob can answer.

So this guide sorts the ten by stated length, longest first, and sets each against the burners it claims, the surface it cooks on and the heat it states it can take. Star ratings and review counts were not captured for this roundup; popularity below is Amazon’s Best Sellers Rank only.

All ten were captured on 5 October 2026, when they ranked from #1 to #83 in Amazon’s Griddles category; the longest nonstick two-burner pan on the page stood at #4.

Best Sellers Ranks and specifications are taken from each manufacturer’s Amazon listing as displayed on 5 October 2026 through a United States connection, and may change. Sizes are as printed by each seller, from the title or bullets where they state one; several spec tables disagree, and each product card below reports both. Square-inch areas in this guide are our arithmetic (length times width), except the Stanbroil’s 488, which is the seller’s. No listing states the burner spacing it fits, and none says whether a two-burner pan should run front to back or side to side. Six of the ten state they are not for induction; the Lodge states it is; the Nutrichef, Amazon Basics and GGC do not say. Six were sold by Amazon.com at capture; the Stanbroil by Stanbroil Outdoor LTD, the two Vayepros by Vayepro Store and CukAid LLC, and the GGC by GGC Mart. Star ratings and review counts were not captured for any product here.

How We Chose These Ten

We researched current listings, compared manufacturer specifications and documentation, and read each listing’s size, burner and heat claims line by line. We did not carry out hands-on testing, and nothing below is presented as measured performance data. Star ratings and review counts were not captured for this roundup. We used Amazon Best Sellers Rank, buy-box stock and listing specifications instead, and nothing on this page describes or implies how owners have scored these griddles.

  • Griddles that sit on a gas hob — every product here is a flat plate or reversible plate meant to go on a stovetop burner or range. Plug-in electric griddles and outdoor propane griddles were not in the running; for the plug-in kind, see our electric griddle guide.
  • A mix of materials on purpose — six nonstick pans, three cast iron reversibles and one full-range steel flat top, because a gas flame does not care what the pan is made of and buyers weigh exactly that trade.
  • Every size recorded as printed — title, bullet and spec-table dimensions were logged separately. Where they disagree, we report both. Areas in square inches are our arithmetic unless the seller states one.
  • Burner claims kept separate from length — whether a listing says it spans two burners is the seller’s claim; whether it spans yours depends on a distance none of them state. We report the claim and show how to check it.
  • Cooktop and oven statements quoted exactly — induction, oven-safe temperatures and dishwasher claims are given only where the listing makes them. Silence is reported as “Not stated”.
  • Popularity from Best Sellers Rank only — ranks are quoted exactly as returned on 5 October 2026, overall and in the category Amazon assigned. Ranks move constantly.
  • Verified stock and seller — each product was the buy-box offer and in stock on amazon.com on 5 October 2026. Six were sold by Amazon.com; four by third-party sellers, named on each card.

The Ten Stovetop Griddles in Detail, Longest First

1. Stanbroil Flat Top Griddle for Standard 30-Inch Ranges — Best Full-Range Flat Top

Wide grey steel flat top griddle plate with raised edges and side handles, sized to cover a whole range top

The one griddle here that makes burner spacing irrelevant, by covering every burner on a 30-inch range.

Key Specifications

Fits Standard 30 in ranges: gas up to 5 burners, glass ceramic radiant, electric coils
Does not fit Induction cooktops and in-counter cooktops
Material 6 gauge thick steel
Surface coating Not stated
Size 28.4 x 19 x 1.4 in
Cooking surface 488 square inches, stated
Included 2 stainless steel drip trays (dishwasher safe), 4 spacers
Weight Not stated
Oven use Not stated
Seller Stanbroil Outdoor LTD
Best Sellers Rank #82,624 overall; #83 in Griddles

Why We Recommend It

Every other griddle here asks whether your burners are the right distance apart. This one does not. It is built “For Standard 30″ Ranges” and is “Compatible with standard 30″ range stoves with gas (up to 5 burners), glass ceramic electric radiant or electric heating coils.” Instead of bridging a pair of burners, it covers the hob. The plate is 28.4 inches wide, 19 inches deep and 1.4 inches high, and the listing states “488 square inches of cooking surface”.

That is about twice the next-largest surface on the page. The Nutrichef, the longest two-burner pan, is 20 by 12 inches, which is 240 square inches by our arithmetic. The Stanbroil’s 488 is about 2.03 times that. Set against its own outside dimensions, 28.4 by 19 inches is 539.6 square inches, so the stated cooking area is about 90% of the plate, again by our arithmetic. The remainder is the raised edge and handles, which the listing describes as “convenient side handles and raised edges to prevent accidental spills.” It is one of only three listings here that separate the cooking surface from the overall size.

The fit depends on the range, not the burners. The key word is “standard”. The listing names 30-inch ranges and rules out “in-counter cooktops”, the kind dropped into a worktop, and induction. It comes with “2 stainless steel drip trays and 4 spacers to fit different cooktops”, which suggests the maker expects grate heights to vary. The listing does not give the spacer heights or say which ranges need which. Measure the width between your range’s side trims and the depth of the hob before you order: a plate 28.4 inches wide on a 30-inch range leaves 1.6 inches in total, by our arithmetic, for the trim and any knobs that rise above the cooking surface.

It is the only steel plate here, and the only one with no coating stated. “Built from 6 gauge thick steel for durability, more even heating and heat resistance without warping.” The listing does not say whether the steel is seasoned, coated or bare, and gives no weight. A plate this size in thick steel will not be light; plan where it lives when it is not on the hob, because it takes the whole range out of use while it is on. The drip trays are “dishwasher safe and removable”; the plate’s own care is not described.

What to weigh. Sold by Stanbroil Outdoor LTD, a third-party seller, it is the biggest step up on the page in size. It ranks #82,624 overall and #83 in Griddles, the lowest rank on the page, so few buyers take this route. If you cook for a crowd and want one flat surface across every burner, it is the only option on this page. If you want a griddle you can lift off one side of the hob while a pot boils on the other, it is the wrong shape.

Pros

  • Covers a whole 30 in range; burner spacing does not matter
  • 488 sq in stated, about twice the next largest
  • Cooking surface stated separately from plate size
  • Two dishwasher-safe drip trays
  • Four spacers for different cooktops
  • 6 gauge steel stated

Cons

  • Third-party seller, not Amazon.com
  • Coating and seasoning not stated
  • Weight not stated
  • Not for induction or in-counter cooktops
  • Takes every burner out of use
  • #83 in Griddles, the lowest rank here

Best for: A household with a standard 30-inch gas range that wants one big flat surface for crowd breakfasts and is happy to give up the hob while it is on.

2. Amazon Basics Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Reversible Rectangular Grill/Griddle — Best Long Cast Iron

Long black cast iron reversible griddle with a smooth side up and a short loop handle at each end

As long as the longest two-burner pan on the page, with the highest oven limit, and no burner claim at all.

Key Specifications

Material Pre-seasoned cast iron, reversible grill/griddle
Size 20 x 10.63 x 0.98 in (spec table 20.3 x 10.6 x 1 in)
Burner claim None stated
Cooktops named None stated
Oven safe To 500°F, stated
Nonstick “pre-seasoned products don’t have non-stick function”
Care Hand wash only
Weight 11.02 pounds (rounded)
Seller Amazon.com
Best Sellers Rank #3,353 overall; #21 in Griddles

Why We Recommend It

This is a 20-inch griddle that never mentions burners. The listing gives “Product Dimensions: 20 x 10.63 x 0.98 inches”, the same length as the Nutrichef and an inch longer than the Viking, and every one of those pans claims two burners. The Amazon Basics listing does not say two burners, one burner, gas, electric or induction. It does not name a cooktop at all. By length alone it belongs with the two-burner pans; by its own words, it is a reversible grill and griddle with “user friendly handles” and an oven limit.

It has the highest oven limit on the page, and says so plainly. “Oven safe to 500 degrees Fahrenheit.” Only two other listings give an oven figure: the Viking at 400°F and the GreenPan at 350°F. The Lodge says it is oven safe but gives no number. The Nutrichef’s 500°F is a claim about heat resistance, not the oven. If you want to start a frittata or a tray of smash-pressed potatoes on the hob and finish them under heat, this is the strongest stated case here.

It is the one cast iron listing that says what seasoning is not. “Pre-seasoned products don’t have non-stick function; hand wash only.” That is an unusually frank sentence, and it contradicts the Lodge, whose listing calls its pre-seasoned cast iron “naturally nonstick”. Both describe the same kind of factory seasoning. The difference is in the marketing, not anything either listing measures. Expect to oil it, preheat it and build the seasoning up over time, as with any cast iron; our cast iron skillet guide covers what surface finish does and does not change.

It is the heaviest griddle with a stated weight. 11.02 pounds, rounded from the listing’s figure, against 9.38 for the Lodge and 1.74 for the Nutrichef: more than six times the lightest pan, by our arithmetic. The listing’s third bullet is a warning to use “hot-pads, oven mitts, or potholders” when moving it. On a gas hob that weight is a benefit once it is down, because a heavy plate sits flat on the grates and holds heat when cold food lands on it. It is a cost every time you lift it to the sink, which you must, because it cannot go in the dishwasher.

What to weigh. Sold by Amazon.com. Next to the Lodge it is 3.25 inches longer and 1.13 inches wider, by our arithmetic, adds a 500°F oven figure and loses the induction statement and the #1 category rank. If your burners are far apart and you want cast iron, it is the length the Lodge does not offer.

Pros

  • 20 in long, the joint longest pan for a single hob pair
  • Oven safe to 500°F, the highest stated
  • Reversible grill and griddle sides
  • Honest about seasoning not being nonstick
  • Sold by Amazon.com
  • #3,353 overall, among the top three here

Cons

  • No burner claim and no cooktop named
  • Induction not stated
  • 11.02 lb, the heaviest stated weight
  • Hand wash only
  • Needs oil and seasoning upkeep
  • #21 in Griddles despite its overall rank

Best for: A cast iron cook with widely spaced burners who wants the longest plate and a stated 500°F oven limit.

3. Nutrichef Double Burner Griddle, Non-Stick Stove Top Griddle for Gas Stove, 20 x 12 in — Best Overall

Black rectangular nonstick double burner griddle with a speckled marble-look surface and black handles at each end

The longest two-burner pan on the page, the widest too, and the only nonstick listing with “Gas Stove” in its title.

Key Specifications

Size 20 x 12 x 0.8 in (title); spec table also lists 24.02 x 11.81 x 1.77 in (rounded)
Burner claim “Made to cover two burners”
Surface Non-stick marble coating; PFOA & PFOS Free
Cooktops named Gas, ceramic, glass, halogen; induction not mentioned
Heat claim Up to 500°F; oven use not stated
Handles Heatproof Bakelite
Cleaning Dishwasher safe
Weight 1.74 pounds
Released 21 March 2025
Seller Amazon.com
Best Sellers Rank #3,409 overall; #4 in Griddles

Why We Recommend It

If your burners are far apart, this is the two-burner pan most likely to reach them. The title gives “20” x 12” x 0.8” Inch” and the size field “20″ x 12″”. That is 3.25 inches longer than the Lodge, 2.5 longer than the Nordic Ware and an inch longer than the Viking. It is also the widest two-burner pan at 12 inches. Multiplied out, it is 240 square inches, the largest surface of any pan that claims two burners, by our arithmetic. The listing says it is “Made to cover two burners” and gives no spacing; at 20 inches, it has the most room for error on the page.

One caution on the size. The spec table disagrees with the title. It lists a height of 24.02 inches, a length of 11.81 and a width of 1.77, which cannot describe a 20 by 12 inch pan 0.8 inches high. The 11.81 matches the 12-inch width; the 24.02 may be the pan with its handles or the box, but the listing does not say. We report both. If the 20 inches includes the Bakelite handles, the flat surface is shorter; if it excludes them, the pan needs more than 20 inches of clear grate. Ask, or measure on arrival before you throw away the packaging.

It names gas first and promises heat. “Compatible with gas, ceramic, glass, and halogen cooktops.” Induction is not mentioned either way, so treat it as not stated and do not count on it. The heat claim is the boldest among the nonstick pans: “this griddle for stove top can stand high temperatures up to 500°F”, with a “warp-proof and corrosion-resistant design”. That is a statement about the pan on the hob, not an oven limit, and Bakelite handles would be a reason not to assume one.

The coating is described, not specified. “Non-stick marble coating” tells you how it looks, not what it is made of. The title says “PFOA & PFOS Free”, a narrower statement than the Vayepro’s “PTFE- and PFOA-free” or the GreenPan’s PFAS statement. It is “dishwasher safe”, with “drip-free pouring and sloped sides”, and the listing pitches it as a “Mexican comal for tortillas” as well as a pancake pan. It weighs 1.74 pounds, the lightest stated weight here, which makes a 20-inch pan easy to lift and easy to knock out of line on a grate.

Buyers have found it. It ranks #4 in Griddles and #3,409 overall, the best category rank of any nonstick pan here and second only to the Lodge. The release date in the spec table is 21 March 2025, so it has climbed that high in a short time. No warranty term is stated beyond “Manufacturer Warranty”.

What to weigh. Sold by Amazon.com. The Viking is an inch shorter and adds an oven limit and metal-utensil safety; the Nordic Ware is 2.5 inches shorter and states its cooking surface. For the longest nonstick two-burner pan on the page, with a dishwasher-safe surface and a top-five category rank, nothing else here comes close.

Pros

  • 20 x 12 in, the longest and widest two-burner pan
  • 240 sq in by our arithmetic, most of any two-burner pan
  • Names gas first among four cooktops
  • Dishwasher safe; 1.74 lb
  • 500°F heat claim, the boldest for nonstick here
  • #4 in Griddles; sold by Amazon.com

Cons

  • Spec table conflicts with the 20 x 12 title
  • Coating type not specified beyond “marble”
  • Induction not mentioned
  • No oven limit stated
  • Warranty term not stated
  • Light enough to slide on the grates

Best for: A gas-range cook with widely spaced burners who wants the longest nonstick surface for pancakes and tortillas.

4. Viking Nonstick Double Burner Griddle, 19 x 11 Inch Hard Anodized — Best Oven-Safe Nonstick

Grey hard anodised rectangular griddle pan with raised riveted stainless steel handles at both ends

The only nonstick pan that tolerates metal utensils, and the only one with an oven figure above 350°F.

Key Specifications

Size 19 x 11 in surface; measures 18.95 x 11.28 x 2.71 in
Burner claim “spans two burners”
Body Hard anodized aluminium
Surface Triple-layer nonstick; safe for metal utensils
Cooktops named Gas, electric, ceramic; not induction
Oven safe To 400°F (204°C)
Handles Riveted stainless steel, raised
Weight 3.7 pounds
Warranty Limited lifetime
Seller Amazon.com
Best Sellers Rank #32,151 overall; #44 in Griddles

Why We Recommend It

This is the nonstick griddle built like cookware rather than a camping plate. Hard anodized aluminium, “TRIPLE-LAYER NONSTICK”, riveted stainless steel handles and an oven limit. The surface is “safe for use with metal utensils”, which no other nonstick listing here claims; the Nordic Ware warns against “sharp cooking utensils” and the GGC asks for non-metal ones. If your griddle spatula is steel and you will not change it, this is the coating that says it can take it.

The size is the most precisely stated on the page. The title says 19 by 11 inches, and the first bullet adds: “The 19 x 11-inch surface of our stove top griddle pan spans two burners… measures 18.95 L x 11.28 W x 2.71 H in inches, and weighs 3.7 lbs.” That makes it the second-longest two-burner pan, behind only the Nutrichef’s 20. Its 2.71-inch height is the tallest here, because the handles are “raised to stay cooler”. Note that the listing calls 19 by 11 the surface and 18.95 by 11.28 the measurement; those are close enough that the “surface” is probably the whole pan, so the flat cooking area will be a little smaller.

It has the highest oven figure of any nonstick pan. “Oven safe up to 400 degrees F (204 degrees C).” The GreenPan stops at 350°F. The other four nonstick pans give no oven figure. Only the Amazon Basics cast iron goes higher, at 500°F. For a gas cook who wants to sear on the hob and finish in the oven, 400°F covers most roasting, and it is the only aluminium pan here where that move is stated.

What to weigh. Sold by Amazon.com, it is the priciest of the two-burner pans. It ranks #32,151 overall and #44 in Griddles, second-lowest on the page. It is the only pan here with a “Limited lifetime warranty” stated in the spec table. You are paying for metal-utensil tolerance, a 400°F oven limit, stainless handles and that warranty, not for size.

Pros

  • Metal-utensil safe, the only nonstick that says so
  • Oven safe to 400°F (204°C)
  • Size stated to two decimals: 18.95 x 11.28 in
  • Raised riveted stainless handles
  • Limited lifetime warranty stated
  • Sold by Amazon.com

Cons

  • 3.7 lb, second-heaviest stated nonstick pan
  • Not for induction
  • Coating chemistry not stated
  • #44 in Griddles, second-lowest rank
  • 2.71 in tall with handles; check storage
  • Dishwasher use not stated

Best for: A cook who uses steel utensils and wants a nonstick griddle that can finish food in a 400°F oven, and values a limited lifetime warranty.

5. GreenPan 18 x 11 in Ceramic Nonstick Double Burner Griddle Pan — Best PFAS-Free Ceramic

Black ceramic nonstick rectangular griddle pan with stainless steel handles riveted at each end, on a plain surface

The clearest chemical statement among the nonstick pans, and the lowest oven ceiling of any pan that gives one.

Key Specifications

Size 18 x 11 x 2 in
Burner claim “spans two burners”
Surface Diamond-infused ceramic nonstick
Chemical statement Made without intentionally added PFAS
Cooktops named All stovetops except induction
Oven safe Oven and broiler safe to 350°F
Handles Riveted stainless steel
Cleaning Dishwasher safe
Weight 4.32 pounds (rounded)
Seller Amazon.com
Best Sellers Rank #16,930 overall; #23 in Griddles

Why We Recommend It

If what the coating is made of matters most to you, this listing says the most. “PFAS-FREE CERAMIC NONSTICK: Nonstick coating is made without intentionally added PFAS.” That is a broader statement than the Nutrichef’s “PFOA & PFOS Free” and the Vayepro’s “PTFE- and PFOA-free”, and it is careful: “intentionally added” is the precise wording, and we repeat it rather than shorten it. The coating is “diamond-infused”, which the listing ties to “remarkable durability”; it does not quantify that.

The size sits in the middle of the two-burner range. “18”x 11” surface area spans two burners,” and the size field says 18 by 11 by 2 inches. That is 198 square inches by our arithmetic, 1.25 inches longer than the Lodge and 2 inches shorter than the Nutrichef. As with the Viking, the “surface area” figure matches the overall size, so read it as the pan, not the flat cooking zone inside the rim. It weighs 4.32 pounds, rounded, the heaviest of the nonstick pans with a stated weight, and the listing calls the build “TOUGH BODIES” and “heavy-duty” without naming the metal.

It goes under the broiler, gently. “Oven and broiler safe up to 350°F and suitable for all stovetops, except induction.” It is the only listing here that names the broiler. But 350°F is the lowest oven figure on the page: 50°F under the Viking and 150°F under the Amazon Basics. A broiler element usually runs well above 350°F, so read “broiler safe up to 350°F” as permission for a low broil setting at most, and check the manual before you use it for melting cheese on a griddled sandwich.

What to weigh. Sold by Amazon.com. It ranks #16,930 overall and #23 in Griddles, mid-table. Against the Viking it gives up 50°F of oven limit and metal-utensil safety, and gains the clearest chemical statement here. Against the lidless Vayepro, which also states a PTFE-free ceramic coating, it adds an inch more length, a broiler statement and stainless handles. For the induction-ready version of this kind of pan, see our induction griddle pan guide.

Pros

  • Made without intentionally added PFAS
  • Oven and broiler safe, the only broiler statement here
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Riveted stainless steel handles
  • 18 x 11 in, mid-range length
  • Sold by Amazon.com

Cons

  • 350°F oven ceiling, the lowest stated
  • Not for induction
  • Body metal not named
  • 4.32 lb, heaviest stated nonstick pan
  • No utensil guidance
  • Cooking area inside the rim not stated

Best for: A buyer who puts coating chemistry first and wants a dishwasher-safe ceramic griddle that can go into a moderate oven.

Why We Recommend It

This is the two-burner listing that answers the question the others skip. “This griddle measures 10.1 x 17.5 inches with a cooking surface of 10 x 16.5 inches with a 1 inch thick edge.” So the pan is 17.5 inches long, and the part you can cook on is 16.5. That inch matters on a gas hob: it is the difference between the end of the pan and the end of the flat surface, and on the other six two-burner pans you have to guess it. By our arithmetic, the cooking surface is 165 square inches inside a 176.75 square inch footprint.

The title, bullet and spec table give three slightly different sizes. The title says 10.3 by 17.4 inches. The bullet and size field say 10.1 by 17.5. The spec table says 16.5 by 9.875 by 0.375, which is close to the stated cooking surface. None of the differences is large, but they show why a stated cooking surface is worth more than an overall size: it is the figure you will actually use. The spec table also lists a weight of 0.000625 pounds, which cannot be right for an aluminium griddle, so we have not printed it.

It is built to travel as well as to sit on a range. “Because the back side is uncoated, this griddle transitions with ease to camp stoves, grills, RVs, and even campfires.” An uncoated underside on a gas flame is a sensible design: there is no exterior coating to discolour. The listing is direct about induction: “For use on gas or electric stoves and grills, not compatible with induction stoves.” No oven figure is given.

The coating comes with instructions. “Ceramic nonstick helps with simple clean-up; do not use metal scouring pads, abrasive cleaners or sharp cooking utensils as they will scratch the nonstick surface.” That is the opposite of the Viking’s metal-utensil claim and the most specific care advice among the nonstick pans. Dishwasher use is not mentioned either way. It is one of only two products here that state where they are made: “Made In America of domestic & imported materials.” The Lodge is the other.

It has been on sale for a long time. The spec table gives a release date of 4 March 2005, more than twenty years before this capture and far older than anything else with a date. It ranks #12,537 overall and #18 in Griddles. The spec table states a “5 year” warranty, the clearest fixed term on the page; only the Viking’s lifetime cover is longer.

What to weigh. Sold by Amazon.com, at the lowest price on the page. Its 16.5-inch cooking surface is a little shorter than the Lodge’s overall 16.75 inches, so if your burners are wide apart, it is the pan most likely to leave a flame at the end uncovered. If they are close together, it is the most honest measurement on the page.

Cons

  • 16.5 in cooking length, short for wide burners
  • Not for induction
  • Oven use not stated
  • No metal utensils or scouring pads
  • Three slightly different sizes across the listing

7. Vayepro Stove Top Griddle for Gas Stove, 17 in Warp-Resistant Double Burner Griddle Pan — Best Warp-Resistant Ceramic

Black ceramic nonstick aluminium griddle pan with a shallow rim and a hanging loop handle at one end

A ribbed aluminium plate with a PTFE-free ceramic coating: the lidded Vayepro’s pan, minus the lid.

Key Specifications

Size 17 x 10.5 in cooking surface (spec table 16.9 x 10.24 x 1.0 in)
Burner claim “fit across two burners”
Body Aluminium with patented 14-rib reinforced grid on the back
Surface Ceramic nonstick, PTFE- and PFOA-free
Cooktops named Most gas and electric stovetops; not induction
Oven use Not stated
Cleaning Wipe clean or dishwasher
Weight 2.93 pounds
Support 30-day return policy; 12-month replacement support
Seller Vayepro Store
Best Sellers Rank #16,193 overall; #22 in Griddles

Why We Recommend It

This listing names the problem aluminium griddles have on gas, and the fix it uses. “Uneven heating can cause ordinary aluminum griddles to bend or lose their flat cooking surface. This stove top griddle features a patented 14-rib reinforced grid on the back to help resist warping.” On a gas hob, a two-burner pan is heated hard in two places and barely in the middle, which is exactly the uneven heating the listing describes. Ribs are a structural answer. The listing does not quantify how much they help, but it is the only nonstick pan here, with its lidded twin, that explains how it resists warping rather than just claiming it.

The size claim has a small contradiction. The listing promises “a spacious 17″ × 10.5″ cooking surface designed to fit across two burners”, but the spec table gives the whole pan as 16.9 by 10.24 inches. A cooking surface cannot be larger than the pan it sits on, so the 17 by 10.5 is almost certainly the overall size, and the flat area inside the rim is smaller. By our arithmetic 17 by 10.5 is 178.5 square inches, between the Lodge and the GreenPan. It is 0.25 inches longer than the Lodge, so treat it as a short two-burner pan.

The coating statement is specific. “The ceramic nonstick coating is PTFE- and PFOA-free for added peace of mind.” PTFE is the classic nonstick polymer, so “PTFE-free” says more than the Nutrichef’s PFOA and PFOS statement, though less than the GreenPan’s PFAS wording. It is dishwasher safe: “wipe clean in seconds or place it in the dishwasher when you’re done.” No utensil guidance or oven figure is given.

It is light and built to move. 2.93 pounds, the second-lightest stated weight here after the Nutrichef’s 1.74. The listing pitches it for “camping, RV travel, tailgating and backyard BBQs” as well as the kitchen, and is clear on cooktops: “works with most gas and electric stovetops (not compatible with induction cooktops).” Support is stated as “a 30-day return policy and 12-month replacement support”, a defined term most listings here lack.

What to weigh. Sold by Vayepro Store. It ranks #16,193 overall and #22 in Griddles, better than its lidded twin’s #23,316 and #28. It is the same 17 by 10.5 inch footprint, the same 14-rib back and the same spec-table dimensions as the lidded version; what the step up buys there is a glass lid, and here you get a named ceramic coating that the lidded listing does not mention. Unless you want the lid, this is the better-documented Vayepro.

Pros

  • 14-rib back explained as the warp fix
  • Ceramic nonstick, PTFE- and PFOA-free
  • Dishwasher safe; 2.93 lb
  • 30-day return and 12-month replacement stated
  • Names a ceramic coating its twin does not
  • Better ranked than the lidded twin

Cons

  • 17 x 10.5 “cooking surface” exceeds the 16.9 x 10.24 pan
  • Short for widely spaced burners
  • Not for induction
  • Oven use not stated
  • Third-party seller
  • No utensil guidance

Best for: A buyer with closely spaced burners who wants a light, ribbed, PTFE-free ceramic griddle and has no use for a lid.

8. Vayepro 2 Burner Griddle Pan with Glass Lid, Aluminum, Non-Stick — Best With a Lid

Black aluminium double burner griddle pan with a clear glass lid resting on top and a loop handle at one end

The ribbed Vayepro again, with a glass lid, a vaguer coating description and a higher price.

Key Specifications

Burner claim “2 Burner” in title
Body Aluminium; 14 ribs on the back in a grid
Surface Non-stick and non-rust coating; type not stated
Included Glass lid
Cooktops named Gas and electric; “should not be used on induction burner”
Oven use Not stated
Cleaning Gentle wiping or dishwasher
Weight Not stated
Seller CukAid LLC
Best Sellers Rank #23,316 overall; #28 in Griddles

Why We Recommend It

This is the only griddle on the page sold with a lid, and the lid is what sets it apart from its twin. “Our griddle pan set comes with a durable glass lid to prevent messy splatters and maintain more consistent heat distribution.” On a griddle, a lid is useful for melting cheese on a burger, steaming the top of a thick pancake, or keeping a fried egg’s white from staying raw on top. No other listing here offers one, so if you want it, this is the choice.

Underneath, it is the same pan as the lidless Vayepro. “This griddle pan has 14 ribs on the back of the griddle, which are distributed in a grid. This patented design ensures the pan will not warp due to uneven heating.” “Size: 17″ x 10.5″”, and a spec table that gives 16.9 by 10.24 by 1.0 inches, identical to its sibling. The wording is stronger here, “will not warp” rather than “help resist warping”, but the design described is the same. At 17 inches it is a short two-burner pan, 0.25 inches longer than the Lodge.

The coating is less clearly described than its twin’s. “The surface of our griddle has a convenient non-stick coating.” The lidless listing calls its coating ceramic and PTFE- and PFOA-free; this one does not name the coating type or make any chemical statement. That may simply be different copy for the same pan, but the listing does not say, so if coating chemistry matters to you, the lidless version is the one with the statement on record. The surface has “a shallow patterned corrugation” that the listing says helps release.

Its induction warning is the bluntest on the page. “Note: Griddle should not be used on induction burner.” It works “on both gas and electric stovetops” and is “safe to put into the dishwasher”. The title also mentions “Gas Grill” and “Camping”, and the listing calls aluminium “lighter in weight and easier to carry than traditional cast-iron cookware”, though it gives no weight of its own. No oven figure is stated, and a glass lid would carry its own limit that the listing does not give.

What to weigh. Sold by CukAid LLC, a third-party seller. It ranks #23,316 overall and #28 in Griddles, below its lidless sibling on both, and it costs more than that sibling. If you already own a large lid or a basting dome, buy the lidless version and keep the difference.

Pros

  • The only griddle here sold with a lid
  • Same 14-rib warp-resistant back as its twin
  • Dishwasher safe
  • Blunt, clear induction warning
  • Light aluminium for indoor and outdoor use
  • Corrugated surface for release

Cons

  • Costs more than the lidless twin
  • Coating type and chemistry not stated
  • Weight not stated
  • Short for widely spaced burners
  • Oven use and lid limit not stated
  • Third-party seller; #28 in Griddles

Best for: A cook who wants a lid for melting and steaming on the griddle and does not already own one that fits.

9. Lodge Reversible Cast Iron Grill/Griddle Pan, 16.75 x 9.5 Inches — Best Cast Iron

Black pre-seasoned cast iron reversible griddle with the ribbed grill side showing and a handle at each end

The most-bought griddle on the page is the shortest two-burner pan, and the only listing that also works on induction.

Key Specifications

Size 16.75 x 9.5 in (size field 16.8 x 9.5 x 0.8 in)
Burner claim “covers two burners”
Material Pre-seasoned cast iron; griddle one side, grill the other
Seasoning “naturally nonstick, PFAS-free”, stated
Cooktops named Gas, electric, induction, grill, campfire
Oven safe Yes; temperature not stated
Weight 9.38 pounds
Made in USA
Seller Amazon.com
Best Sellers Rank #1,254 overall; #1 in Griddles

Why We Recommend It

Amazon’s best-selling griddle is the shortest one here that claims two burners. “Double Burner Configuration: The Lodge Double Play Reversible Cast Iron Grill/Griddle covers two burners.” It is 16.75 by 9.5 inches, which is 159.1 square inches by our arithmetic, the smallest surface of the seven two-burner pans. It ranks #1 in Griddles and #1,254 overall, the best rank on the page by a distance. Short is not a flaw if your burners are close together: a pan that overhangs less is more stable on the grates and more likely to fit beside a pot on the other side. If your burners are wide apart, though, it is the pan most likely to leave the outer edge of each flame exposed.

It is the only listing on the page that says yes to induction. “Induction Compatible & Oven Safe: This stovetop grill plate works on any cooktop, including gas, electric, induction, grill, or even over a campfire.” Six of the other nine say outright that they are not for induction; the other three are silent. For a gas cook, that matters only if you move house or replace the hob, but it makes this the one griddle here you would not have to replace. Our induction griddle pan guide covers the wider field.

It is reversible, which is the cast iron trade. “Use this versatile cooking plate as a cast iron griddle for pancakes or flip to the cast iron grill side for searing steaks, burgers, or vegetables.” The same Lodge appears in our grill pan guide, where the ribbed side is the point. Here the flat side is. The listing says the seasoning is “naturally nonstick, PFAS-free, and non-toxic”, which the Amazon Basics listing contradicts for its own pre-seasoned iron: “pre-seasoned products don’t have non-stick function.” Both are factory-seasoned cast iron; treat either as a surface you build up with use.

It is heavy, and the oven figure is missing. 9.38 pounds, second only to the Amazon Basics among stated weights and more than five times the Nutrichef, by our arithmetic. The listing says “Oven Safe” in a heading but gives no temperature, while the Amazon Basics states 500°F. The spec table’s dimension fields put 16.75 in the height slot and 0.5 in the width; the size field’s 16.8 by 9.5 by 0.8 inches matches the title, and we use that. Care is not described beyond “as easy to clean as it is to cook with”, and the warranty field gives a contact address rather than a term.

What to weigh. Sold by Amazon.com. The Amazon Basics is 3.25 inches longer and states a 500°F oven limit, but says nothing about burners or induction. The Lodge is “Made in the USA”. For a gas range with closely spaced burners, it is the most-bought, most versatile cast iron griddle on the page. For widely spaced burners, measure first.

Pros

  • #1 in Griddles; #1,254 overall, best rank here
  • The only listing that says induction too
  • Reversible griddle and grill sides
  • Pre-seasoned; PFAS-free stated
  • Made in the USA
  • Sold by Amazon.com

Cons

  • 16.75 in, the shortest two-burner pan
  • Oven temperature not stated
  • 9.38 lb to lift
  • Care and warranty term not stated
  • Spec-table dimensions jumbled
  • Seasoning needs upkeep

Best for: A gas cook with closely spaced burners who wants a reversible cast iron plate that will also work on induction later.

10. GGC Cast Iron Reversible Griddle — Best Single-Burner Size

Small black matte cast iron reversible griddle with a smooth side up and wide side handles

The smallest plate here, sold without a burner claim, and the only cast iron that arrives unseasoned.

Key Specifications

Cooking area 13 x 8.25 in; 15.5 in overall with handles
Burner claim None stated
Material Cast iron, reversible: ribbed and smooth sides
Surface Arrives unseasoned; matte coating
Cooktops named “Indoor stovetop or outdoor BBQ”; gas and induction not named
Care Non-metal utensils; never soak over 15 minutes; no steel wool
Height 0.5 in (size field) vs 3.0 in (spec table)
Weight Not stated
Oven use Not stated
Seller GGC Mart
Best Sellers Rank #12,934 overall; #19 in Griddles

Why We Recommend It

This is the one griddle on the page sized for a single burner, and its listing does not pretend otherwise. “Offers a generous 13″ x 8.25″ cooking area (15.5″ overall with handles).” That is about 107 square inches by our arithmetic, under half the Nutrichef’s 240, and 3.75 inches shorter than the shortest two-burner pan. The listing never says two burners. On a gas range, a 13-inch plate sits over one large burner with room to spare, which makes it a griddle for two eggs and a few rashers, not a family stack of pancakes.

It is one of three listings that separate the cooking area from the overall size. Like the Nordic Ware and the Stanbroil, it tells you what you can cook on: 13 by 8.25 inches, with handles taking it to 15.5 inches long. That 2.5 inches of handle is useful information on a crowded hob, and the listing’s description of “Wide side handles” designed for “a firm, secure grip with oven mitts” is honest about what lifting hot cast iron requires.

It arrives needing work. “Arrives unseasoned; coat with vegetable oil (flaxseed oil recommended) and heat before first use.” The Lodge and Amazon Basics are pre-seasoned; this one is not. The surface is described as cast iron with “a sleek matte coating”, and the listing asks you to “Protect the matte coating by using non-metal utensils”, which is unusual for cast iron, where steel spatulas are normally fine. The care rules are strict: “Never soak over 15 minutes. Towel-dry immediately, rub with a light layer of oil”, and “Keep steel wool away.”

The listing is thin on numbers. No weight, no oven figure and no named cooktops beyond “indoor stovetop or outdoor BBQ”. Gas is not named, and neither is induction. The size field gives a height of 0.5 inches and the spec table 3.0 inches; the 3.0 may include the handles, but the listing does not say, so we report both. It promises “No hot spots”, a claim no listing here backs with a measurement.

What to weigh. Sold by GGC Mart, a third-party seller. It ranks #12,934 overall and #19 in Griddles, just behind the Nordic Ware. Buy it as a small reversible plate for one burner. If you want to span two, every other cast iron option here is at least 16.75 inches long.

Pros

  • Cooking area stated: 13 x 8.25 in
  • Handle length stated: 15.5 in overall
  • Reversible ribbed and smooth sides
  • Wide side handles for oven mitts
  • Fits one burner with room to spare
  • Clear, detailed care instructions

Cons

  • Too small to span two burners
  • Arrives unseasoned
  • Non-metal utensils only, unusual for cast iron
  • Weight and oven use not stated
  • Gas not named; induction not stated
  • Height fields disagree: 0.5 vs 3.0 in

Best for: A one- or two-person kitchen that wants a small reversible cast iron plate for a single gas burner and does not mind seasoning it.

Two Burners, Seven Lengths, No Spacing

Seven listings claim two burners. Here they are with the three that do not, in the order of the comparison table. Areas are our arithmetic from the stated sizes, except the Stanbroil’s 488 square inches, which the seller states.

Griddle Stated size (in) Burner claim Cooking surface stated separately? Area (ours, sq in) Stated weight
Stanbroil 30 in range 28.4 x 19 Whole range, up to 5 Yes: 488 sq in 488 (stated) Not stated
Amazon Basics cast iron 20 x 10.63 None No About 212.6 11.02 lb
Nutrichef 20 x 12 Two No 240 1.74 lb
Viking 19 x 11 Two No (18.95 x 11.28 measured) 209 3.7 lb
GreenPan 18 x 11 Two No 198 4.32 lb
Nordic Ware 17.5 x 10.1 Two Yes: 10 x 16.5 165 cooking Not usable
Vayepro flat 17 x 10.5 Two Called cooking surface; larger than the pan’s spec About 178.5 2.93 lb
Vayepro with lid 17 x 10.5 Two No About 178.5 Not stated
Lodge 16.75 x 9.5 Two No About 159.1 9.38 lb
GGC cast iron 13 x 8.25 cooking; 15.5 with handles None Yes About 107 Not stated

The same promise covers 3.25 inches. From the Lodge’s 16.75 inches to the Nutrichef’s 20, the seven two-burner pans differ by more than three inches in length and by 2.5 inches in width. By area, the Nutrichef’s 240 square inches is about 1.5 times the Lodge’s 159.1. They cannot all be the right length for the same two burners. Some will overhang wide-set burners comfortably; some will leave the outer edge of a flame uncovered.

Only three listings tell you the part you can cook on. The Nordic Ware loses an inch to its edge: 17.5 overall, 16.5 to cook on. The GGC loses 2.5 inches to its handles: 15.5 overall, 13 to cook on. The Stanbroil states 488 of its 539.6 square inches, by our arithmetic, as cooking surface. The Vayepro calls 17 by 10.5 a cooking surface, but its spec table puts the whole pan at 16.9 by 10.24, so that figure cannot be the flat area alone. For every other pan, assume the flat surface is shorter than the stated size by the width of the rim at each end.

No listing says which way the pan goes. A two-burner griddle can sit front to back over the left or right pair of burners, or side to side across the front or back pair. On most ranges those two distances are not the same. Not one listing names an orientation, so measure both ways.

Blue gas flames burning beneath a metal stovetop grate
Measure burner centres both ways: no listing says whether the pan runs front to back or side to side.

Working Out Your Own Burner Spacing

Since no listing gives the spacing it was sized for, the check falls to you. It takes two measurements and one sum, and the sum is our arithmetic, not any seller’s rule.

Measure the centre-to-centre distance. With the hob cold, measure from the middle of one burner cap to the middle of the other, for the pair you plan to use. Do it for the front-to-back pair on each side and for the side-to-side pair across the front.

Measure the flame ring. Light one burner on high, let it settle, turn it off and, once cold, measure the diameter of the ring of ports the flame came from. On high, flames reach a little beyond the ports, so add a margin.

Add them. The minimum flat length that keeps both flames fully under the pan is roughly the centre-to-centre distance plus one flame-ring diameter: half a ring beyond each centre. As a worked example only, burner centres 12 inches apart with 4-inch flame rings need at least 16 inches of flat cooking surface, and more if you want a margin at each end. Every two-burner pan here clears that example on stated length; the Nordic Ware’s 16.5-inch cooking surface clears it by half an inch. Centres 15 inches apart with the same rings would need 19 inches, which only the Nutrichef, the Viking and the Amazon Basics state, and the Viking only just.

Check that it sits flat. Gas grates are not always level with each other, especially where two separate grates meet between burners. A pan that rocks on a seam will heat unevenly and pool oil at one end. The Stanbroil ships with “4 spacers to fit different cooktops”; no two-burner listing mentions grate height at all.

What the Food Touches: Six Coatings, Three Seasonings, One Silence

The second decision on a gas hob is the surface. All ten listings describe theirs differently. Here is what each one states.

Griddle Body Surface as stated Chemical statement Dishwasher Utensils
Stanbroil 6 gauge steel Not stated Not stated Drip trays only Not stated
Amazon Basics Cast iron Pre-seasoned; “don’t have non-stick function” Not stated No: hand wash only Not stated
Nutrichef Not named Non-stick marble coating PFOA & PFOS Free Yes Not stated
Viking Hard anodized aluminium Triple-layer nonstick Not stated Not stated Metal safe
GreenPan Not named Diamond-infused ceramic nonstick Without intentionally added PFAS Yes Not stated
Nordic Ware Formed aluminium Ceramic nonstick; uncoated back Not stated Not stated No sharp utensils
Vayepro flat Aluminium Ceramic nonstick PTFE- and PFOA-free Yes Not stated
Vayepro with lid Aluminium Non-stick, type not stated Not stated Yes Not stated
Lodge Cast iron Pre-seasoned; “naturally nonstick” PFAS-free Not stated Not stated
GGC Cast iron Unseasoned; matte coating Not stated No: soak under 15 minutes Non-metal

For the best non stick stovetop griddle, read the chemistry line, not the word nonstick. Six pans call themselves nonstick. Three name ceramic. One says marble, which is a look. One says triple-layer, which is a structure. One says only “non-stick coating”. Three make a chemical statement, and they make three different ones: PFOA and PFOS free (Nutrichef), PTFE- and PFOA-free (Vayepro flat), and without intentionally added PFAS (GreenPan). Those are not interchangeable. A coating can be free of PFOA and still be PTFE; a PTFE-free coating says more; a PFAS statement says more again. Our nonstick frying pan guide covers how pan coatings print their limits.

The cast iron listings disagree with each other about seasoning. The Lodge calls its factory seasoning “naturally nonstick”. The Amazon Basics says the opposite of its own: “pre-seasoned products don’t have non-stick function.” The GGC ships with none, plus a matte coating it asks you to protect from metal. Three cast iron griddles, three starting points. In practice, any of them needs oil and preheating, and gets better with use.

Only one nonstick pan tolerates metal. The Viking says “safe for use with metal utensils”. The Nordic Ware says not to use “sharp cooking utensils”. The rest say nothing. If your griddle kit is steel, that one line is worth more than any coating name on the page.

A fried egg in a small black cast iron skillet on a wooden surface
Stated weights run from 1.74 lb for nonstick aluminium to 11.02 lb, rounded, for cast iron.

Heat Limits, the Oven and Induction

A gas flame on high can put more heat into a thin pan than its coating likes. Few listings here say how much heat they can take, and fewer say it about the oven.

Griddle Oven figure Other heat statement Gas named? Induction
Amazon Basics 500°F — No cooktop named Not stated
Viking 400°F (204°C) — Yes No
GreenPan 350°F, oven and broiler — All stovetops except induction No
Lodge “Oven Safe”, no figure — Yes Yes
Nutrichef Not stated “up to 500°F” Yes Not mentioned
Stanbroil Not stated “heat resistance without warping” Yes, up to 5 burners No
Nordic Ware Not stated — Yes No
Vayepro flat Not stated “resist warping under high heat” Yes No
Vayepro with lid Not stated “will not warp” Yes No
GGC Not stated — “Indoor stovetop” Not stated

Three oven figures, three different numbers. 350°F, 400°F and 500°F, from the GreenPan, Viking and Amazon Basics. The Lodge says oven safe and stops there. The other six give nothing. If you plan to finish food in the oven, treat silence as a no until the manual says otherwise; a pan with Bakelite handles, like the Nutrichef, is a particular reason for caution.

Six of ten say no to induction, and only one says yes. The two Vayepros, the Nordic Ware, the Viking, the GreenPan and the Stanbroil all rule it out. The Lodge rules it in. The Nutrichef, Amazon Basics and GGC do not mention it. On a gas range today, this does not matter. It matters the day you move or replace the hob, and it is why the Lodge is the only pan here that is certain to come with you. If you are buying for an induction hob now, see our induction griddle pan guide instead.

Warping is the gas-specific worry, and three listings address it. A two-burner pan on gas is heated hard at two spots with a cooler middle. Aluminium expands where it is hot, and a thin plate can bow. The Vayepro pair answer with a 14-rib grid on the back, the Nutrichef claims a “warp-proof” design, and the Stanbroil leans on 6 gauge steel. None of them gives a test. Cast iron is far thicker and rarely warps on a domestic flame, but it can crack if a hot plate meets cold water, which is one reason the GGC tells you never to soak it long.

Popularity Does Not Follow Size

Star ratings were not captured for this roundup, so the only popularity measure here is Amazon’s Best Sellers Rank, as returned on 5 October 2026. Ranks move constantly, and overall and category ranks are assigned separately, so read the order rather than the precise numbers.

Griddle Overall rank Griddles rank Stated length Material
Lodge #1,254 #1 16.75 in Cast iron
Amazon Basics #3,353 #21 20 in Cast iron
Nutrichef #3,409 #4 20 in Nonstick
Nordic Ware #12,537 #18 17.5 in Nonstick aluminium
GGC #12,934 #19 13 in cooking Cast iron
Vayepro flat #16,193 #22 17 in Ceramic nonstick aluminium
GreenPan #16,930 #23 18 in Ceramic nonstick
Vayepro with lid #23,316 #28 17 in Nonstick aluminium
Viking #32,151 #44 19 in Hard anodized nonstick
Stanbroil #82,624 #83 28.4 in 6 gauge steel

The three best-ranked griddles sit far ahead of the rest. The Lodge, the Amazon Basics and the Nutrichef are the only three inside the top 3,500 overall. Two are cast iron, one is nonstick. Next come the Nordic Ware and the GGC, the two lowest-priced griddles here. The four pans that add the most beyond a plain plate, the GreenPan’s PFAS statement, the lidded Vayepro’s glass lid, the Viking’s metal-safe coating and lifetime warranty and the Stanbroil’s full-range footprint, occupy four of the bottom five places, and the Viking and the Stanbroil are last. Rank measures recent sales, not how well a griddle cooks, and it tells you nothing about owner satisfaction. It does say that most buyers settle on one of the top three, and that extra features have not pulled buyers away from them.

What Each Step Up Actually Buys

Set the length question aside and the ten griddles fall into five groups by what they add. Areas are our arithmetic from the stated sizes, except the Nordic Ware’s stated cooking surface and the Stanbroil’s stated 488 square inches. It is a rough guide, because most listings do not separate the cooking area from the rim.

The basics — Nordic Ware, GGC. Two different starting points, and the two lowest-priced griddles here. The Nordic Ware gives a stated 10 by 16.5 inch nonstick cooking surface, 165 square inches, and a 5 year warranty. The GGC gives a small reversible cast iron plate for one burner, about 107 square inches. If you need two burners covered, only the Nordic Ware fits the brief.

More length or more iron — Nutrichef, Amazon Basics, Lodge, Vayepro flat. The heart of the page and the three best ranks. The Nutrichef steps up to the longest nonstick two-burner surface, 240 square inches, the most area of any two-burner pan. The Amazon Basics steps up to 20 inches of cast iron and a 500°F oven limit. The Lodge adds the #1 rank, a grill side and induction compatibility on its 159.1 square inches. The Vayepro adds a ribbed back and a PTFE-free ceramic coating. Four strong options, each adding one clear thing.

Chemistry or an accessory — GreenPan, Vayepro with lid. The GreenPan adds a PFAS statement, broiler safety and stainless handles, on 198 square inches. The lidded Vayepro adds a glass lid to the same pan as the lidless model. One step up is about chemistry, the other about an accessory, and neither adds length.

Durability claims — Viking. Metal-utensil safety, a 400°F oven limit, hard anodized aluminium and a limited lifetime warranty, on 209 square inches. The step up here is in durability claims, not area.

The whole hob — Stanbroil. One surface across the range, 488 square inches, about twice the next largest. It is the only product here that removes the burner-spacing question rather than asking you to solve it.

The extra length stops in the middle of the page. The longest nonstick pan, the longest cast iron pan and the best-selling griddle all sit in the second group. Beyond it, the step up buys coatings, chemistry statements, lids and warranties, and no more length until you jump to the Stanbroil.

What to Check Before You Buy

Measure Your Burner Centres Both Ways

No listing states the spacing it fits. Measure centre to centre front to back on each side and side to side across the front. Add one flame-ring diameter to get a rough minimum flat length, our arithmetic. Compare that with the cooking surface, not the overall length, where the listing gives one.

Find Out How Much of the Length Is Rim and Handle

Only the Nordic Ware, GGC and Stanbroil separate cooking surface from overall size. The Nordic Ware loses an inch to its edge; the GGC 2.5 inches to its handles. For the rest, ask the seller or check the pan on arrival before you discard the box.

Decide Between Nonstick and Cast Iron

The nonstick pans here weigh 1.74 to 4.32 pounds where stated, and four of the six are dishwasher safe; cast iron weighs 9.38 to 11.02 pounds and is hand wash or soak-limited. Nonstick is easier for eggs and pancakes; cast iron takes higher heat and a grill side. Choose by what you cook most and how often you will lift it.

Read the Coating Statement Word for Word

PFOA and PFOS free, PTFE- and PFOA-free, and without intentionally added PFAS are three different claims. Three nonstick listings here make none at all. If chemistry matters to you, buy the pan whose statement says what you want, and do not infer it from the word ceramic.

Check the Oven Figure If You Will Use One

Three listings give one: 350°F (GreenPan), 400°F (Viking) and 500°F (Amazon Basics). The Lodge says oven safe without a number. Six say nothing. Bakelite handles, as on the Nutrichef, are a reason not to assume.

Think Past This Hob

Six of the ten say they are not for induction. Only the Lodge says it is. If you rent, plan to move or might replace the range, a pan that works on induction will outlast the stove. Otherwise, any of the ten that name gas will do.

Check the Seller and the Cover

Six were sold by Amazon.com at capture; the Stanbroil, both Vayepros and the GGC came from third-party sellers. Stated cover runs from a limited lifetime warranty on the Viking and 5 years on the Nordic Ware to 12-month replacement support on the Vayepro flat, and nothing specific elsewhere. Ask before you order from a third party.

Only three of ten listings give an oven limit, and they say 350, 400 and 500°F.

Common Mistakes

  • Trusting “covers two burners” without a tape measure. Seven pans say it, from 16.75 to 20 inches long, and none states the spacing.
  • Measuring only one direction. No listing says front to back or side to side, and the two distances usually differ.
  • Reading overall length as cooking length. The Nordic Ware loses an inch to its edge and the GGC 2.5 inches to its handles.
  • Assuming nonstick means one thing. Six pans describe six coatings; only three make a chemical statement, and those three differ.
  • Assuming pre-seasoned means nonstick. The Lodge says “naturally nonstick”; the Amazon Basics says pre-seasoned products “don’t have non-stick function”.
  • Putting a pan in the oven on silence. Six of ten give no oven figure, and the GreenPan stops at 350°F.
  • Forgetting the weight. The Amazon Basics is 11.02 pounds, rounded, more than six times the 1.74-pound Nutrichef.
  • Buying for this hob only. Six of ten rule out induction; only the Lodge rules it in.

Who Should Buy Which

Buy the Nutrichef if your burners are wide apart and you want nonstick. 20 by 12 inches, the longest and widest two-burner pan, dishwasher safe and claimed to 500°F on the hob. Confirm on arrival whether the 20 inches includes the handles.

Buy the Lodge if your burners are close together and you want cast iron. 16.75 inches, #1 in Griddles, reversible, and the only listing here that also works on induction. Accept 9.38 pounds and no stated oven temperature.

Buy the Nordic Ware if you want to know the exact cooking surface at the lowest price here. 10 by 16.5 inches to cook on, ceramic nonstick, a 5 year warranty. Keep metal utensils and scouring pads away.

Buy the Amazon Basics if you want long cast iron and an oven. 20 inches, reversible, oven safe to 500°F. Accept 11.02 pounds, hand washing and no burner or induction statement.

Buy the Viking if you use steel utensils and want to finish in the oven. Metal-utensil-safe nonstick, 400°F oven limit and a limited lifetime warranty. You are paying for durability, not length.

Buy the GreenPan if coating chemistry comes first. Made without intentionally added PFAS, dishwasher safe and oven and broiler safe to 350°F. Do not expect a hot broil from it.

Buy the Vayepro flat if you want a light, ribbed, PTFE-free pan for close-set burners. 2.93 pounds, 14 ribs against warping, 12-month replacement support stated.

Buy the Vayepro with lid only if you want the glass lid. It is the same 17-inch ribbed pan as the lidless model, with a less specific coating description.

Buy the Stanbroil if you have a standard 30-inch range and cook for a crowd. 488 square inches across up to five burners, with drip trays and spacers. Measure your range trim first and accept that the hob is out of use while it is on.

Buy the GGC if you want a small reversible plate for one burner. 13 by 8.25 inches to cook on. Season it before first use and keep metal utensils off its matte coating.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best stovetop griddle for gas stoves?

For most gas ranges, the Nutrichef Double Burner Griddle. At 20 by 12 inches it is the longest and widest pan on this page that claims to cover two burners, so it has the best chance of reaching both flames on a wide-set hob. It has a nonstick coating, is dishwasher safe, names gas first among its compatible cooktops, claims heat resistance up to 500°F on the hob, and ranks #4 in Griddles. If you prefer cast iron, the Lodge Reversible is #1 in Griddles, has a grill side, and is the only listing here that also works on induction, but at 16.75 inches it is the shortest two-burner pan, so measure your burners first. On a budget, the Nordic Ware states a 10 by 16.5 inch cooking surface and a 5 year warranty.

How do I know if a double burner griddle will fit my gas stove?

Measure, because no listing on this page tells you. Seven griddles here claim to cover two burners, ranging from 16.75 to 20 inches long, and none states the burner spacing it was designed for or which direction it should sit. With the hob cold, measure from the centre of one burner cap to the centre of the other, both front to back and side to side. Then measure the ring of flame ports on one burner. By our arithmetic, the flat cooking surface should be at least the centre-to-centre distance plus one ring diameter, so both flames sit fully under the pan. Burner centres 12 inches apart with 4-inch rings need about 16 inches of flat surface. Remember that most listings give the overall size, including the rim; only the Nordic Ware, GGC and Stanbroil state the cooking surface separately. Finally, check the pan will sit flat across the grates.

What is the best non stick stovetop griddle?

It depends on what you mean by nonstick, because the six nonstick pans here describe six different coatings. For value and size, the Nutrichef has a non-stick marble coating, states PFOA and PFOS free, is dishwasher safe and is the longest two-burner pan at 20 inches. For durability, the Viking has a triple-layer nonstick that is the only one here stated safe for metal utensils, plus a 400°F oven limit and a limited lifetime warranty. For coating chemistry, the GreenPan is made without intentionally added PFAS, and the Vayepro flat states PTFE- and PFOA-free ceramic. The Nordic Ware has ceramic nonstick but asks you to avoid sharp utensils and scouring pads. The Vayepro with lid states only a non-stick coating. None of the six states induction compatibility, and five of them rule it out in plain words.

What is the best double griddle pan?

A double griddle pan is one long enough to sit across two burners, and seven listings here make that claim. The best for most kitchens is the Nutrichef, the longest at 20 by 12 inches, which leaves the most margin for widely spaced burners. If your burners are close together, the Lodge is the most-bought griddle on the page at #1 in Griddles, and reverses to a grill side. The Nordic Ware is the only double pan that states its actual cooking surface, 10 by 16.5 inches. The Viking is the premium choice, with metal-utensil safety and a 400°F oven limit. If you want a whole-hob version, the Stanbroil covers a standard 30-inch range with 488 square inches. Whichever you choose, compare its length with your own burner spacing, because no listing states the spacing it fits.

Is cast iron or nonstick better on a gas stove?

Both work on gas, and the trade is weight and care against convenience. The nonstick pans here weigh between 1.74 and 4.32 pounds where stated, and four of the six say they are dishwasher safe. They are easy for eggs and pancakes, but four of the six give no oven figure, only one says metal utensils are safe, and thin aluminium heated hard at two points can warp, which is why the Vayepro pair add a 14-rib grid to the back. The cast iron pans weigh 9.38 and 11.02 pounds where stated, are hand wash or soak-limited, and need oil and seasoning. In return they sit heavy and flat on the grates, hold heat when cold food lands, and the Lodge and Amazon Basics add a grill side. The Amazon Basics also has the highest oven figure here, 500°F. If you sear often, choose cast iron; if you mostly cook breakfast, nonstick.

Can I use these griddles on an induction cooktop?

Only one listing on this page says yes: the Lodge Reversible Cast Iron Grill/Griddle, which states it works on gas, electric, induction, grill or campfire. Six say no in plain words: the two Vayepros, the Nordic Ware, the Viking, the GreenPan and the Stanbroil. The Vayepro with lid puts it most bluntly: it should not be used on an induction burner. The other three, the Nutrichef, the Amazon Basics and the GGC, do not mention induction at all. Aluminium is not magnetic, so the aluminium pans are a no in practice as well as by statement. Cast iron is generally magnetic, but where the listing does not say so we would not assume it. If you are cooking on induction now or plan to switch, our induction griddle pan guide covers pans built for it.

Will a full-range griddle like the Stanbroil fit any gas stove?

Not any, but most standard freestanding ones. The Stanbroil is made for standard 30-inch ranges with up to five gas burners, glass ceramic radiant elements or electric coils. Its listing rules out induction cooktops and in-counter cooktops, the kind set into a worktop. The plate is 28.4 inches wide and 19 inches deep, so on a 30-inch range it leaves about 1.6 inches in total for the side trim, by our arithmetic, and it will not sit flat if raised controls or trim rise above the grates. It comes with four spacers to fit different cooktops and two stainless steel drip trays, but the listing does not give the spacer heights or say which ranges need them. Measure the width between your range’s side trims, the depth from the back guard to the front edge, and check nothing stands proud of the grates before you order.

Final Verdict

Best OverallNutrichef Double Burner Griddle

20 x 12 inches, the longest two-burner pan, nonstick and dishwasher safe, sold by Amazon.com.

Best Cast IronLodge Reversible Grill/Griddle

#1 in Griddles, reversible, induction compatible; at 16.75 inches, best for close-set burners.

Best ValueNordic Ware Two Burner Griddle

A stated 10 x 16.5 inch cooking surface, ceramic nonstick and a 5 year warranty, at the lowest price here.

Seven of these ten griddles say they span two burners, and the same promise covers 3.25 inches of length. The Lodge is 16.75 inches, the Nutrichef 20, and the others fall between. Not one listing states the burner spacing it was sized for or which way it should sit, and only three separate the cooking surface from the rim. The longest plain pan, the 20-inch Amazon Basics, makes no burner claim at all; the Stanbroil sidesteps the question by covering a whole 30-inch range.

The surface is the second choice, and the listings make it harder than it should be. Six nonstick pans describe six coatings and three different chemical statements. Three cast iron pans arrive in three different states, and two of them disagree about whether factory seasoning is nonstick. Three give an oven figure, at 350, 400 and 500°F. Six rule out induction; only the Lodge rules it in.

So start with your hob, not the pan. Measure the burner centres both ways, add a flame ring, and compare the total with the cooking length, not the box size. Then choose a surface for what you cook most, and a heat limit for whether you will use the oven. Most buyers, on the evidence of the ranks, choose one of the three best-ranked griddles, and on this page that is where the best value sits.

If you buy one griddle from this page, make it the Nutrichef: at 20 by 12 inches it is the two-burner pan most likely to reach both of your flames, with a dishwasher-safe nonstick surface and a #4 rank in Griddles. If your burners sit close together and you want cast iron that will also follow you to an induction hob, the Lodge is the most-bought griddle here.
