Every pan on this page makes the same promise somewhere in its listing: no PFAS. Some put it in the title, some in a bullet, one in a phrase as short as “Made without PFAS”. If the only thing you check is whether those four letters appear, all ten pass, and the page would end here. Read the whole free-of sentence on each listing and the ten stop agreeing.
Four listings name five things. XBM, Legacy Culinaryware, SENSARTE and Vocvee each say their pan is free of PFAS, PFOA, PTFE, lead and cadmium. SENSARTE adds a qualifier the others leave out: “free of intentionally added PFOA, PTFE, PFAS, lead and cadmium”. Two more, FogDream and KOKHUB, name three: PFAS, PFOA and PTFE. The 12-inch stainless hybrid names two, PFOA and PFAS. And three of the biggest names on the page, OXO, GreenPan and Viking, name PFAS and nothing else.
Those words are not interchangeable. PFAS is a family of thousands of fluorinated chemicals. PFOA is one member of that family, and for years it was used in making the classic PTFE non-stick coating; the large US makers phased it out around 2015. PTFE itself is a fluoropolymer, and under broad definitions, such as the one the OECD uses, it counts as a PFAS, though some in the industry argue it should not. So a pan that is “PFOA-free” has made a claim about one chemical. A pan that is “PFAS-free” has made a claim about the whole family. Lead and cadmium are metals, not fluorinated chemicals, and are a separate claim again.
The clearest example is in a title. Vocvee’s headline says “PFOA Free Cookware”. Its second bullet goes much further and says the pan is free from “PFOA, PTFE, PFAS, lead, cadmium”. If you shopped by title alone, you would be reading the narrowest claim on the page for a pan whose bullets make one of the widest.
The other thing the listings disagree on is the word coating. KOKHUB sells a “titanium ceramic coating” and, one bullet later, a surface that prevents sticking “without chemical coatings”. SENSARTE describes a “natural ceramic coating” and then says there is “No coating to come off into your food”. Viking says its surface works “without traditional coatings” and later calls it a “titanium coating surface”. None of that tells you anything is wrong with the pans. It tells you the marketing copy is loose, and that the free-of list is the most specific sentence most of these listings contain.
So this guide sorts the ten by what each listing says its pan is free of, word for word, and sets out what each is made of, where it can be used and how hot it can go in the oven. We make no health claims of our own and do not judge which coating is safer; we report what each seller claims and point out where a claim is narrower than it looks. Star ratings and review counts were not captured for this roundup; popularity below is Amazon’s Best Sellers Rank only.
All ten were captured on 5 October 2026. Their overall Best Sellers Ranks run from #278 to #34,450, and the best-ranked pan by a long way, the SENSARTE, is also the one with the most carefully worded free-of list.

Best Sellers Ranks and specifications are taken from each manufacturer’s Amazon listing as displayed on 5 October 2026 through a United States connection, and may change. The first column quotes each listing’s own list, in its own order where that matters. Where a title and a bullet disagree, both are shown. A substance that a listing does not name is not shown, which does not mean the pan contains it; it means the seller has not made that claim. The GreenPan’s rank is shown in Cookware Sets because that is the only category rank returned; its overall rank is #7,300. Oven limits are as stated; the SENSARTE and the 12-inch hybrid give none. Three pans were sold by Amazon.com at capture, the OXO, GreenPan and Viking; the other seven by their brands or third-party sellers. Ranks are as returned on 5 October 2026. Star ratings and review counts were not captured for any product here.

How We Chose These Ten
We researched current listings, compared manufacturer specifications and documentation, and read each listing’s free-of claims, materials and heat limits line by line. We did not carry out hands-on testing or any laboratory analysis, and nothing below is presented as measured performance data or as a finding about what any pan contains. Star ratings and review counts were not captured for this roundup. We used Amazon Best Sellers Rank, buy-box stock and listing specifications instead, and nothing on this page describes or implies how owners have scored these pans.
- Non-stick frying pans sold as PFAS-free — every product here is a frying pan or skillet set that describes itself as non-stick and, somewhere in its listing, as free of PFAS or made without PFAS. Classic PTFE-coated pans, bare cast iron and plain uncoated stainless were not in the running.
- Free-of claims quoted, not paraphrased — for every pan we recorded exactly which of PFAS, PFOA, PTFE, lead and cadmium the listing names, and any qualifier attached, such as “intentionally added”. Where the title and a bullet say different things, we report both.
- No claim treated as a test result — a free-of statement is the seller’s claim. None of the ten listings names an independent laboratory or certificate by name, and we have not verified any claim ourselves.
- Surface recorded as described — ceramic coating, titanium surface, laser-etched steel or a mix, in the listing’s words. Where a listing calls its surface a coating in one place and says there is no coating in another, we report both.
- Heat limits as stated — oven figures, lid limits and induction compatibility are logged only where the listing gives them. A missing figure is marked not stated.
- A spread of sizes and builds — single pans from 7 to 12 inches, three three-pan sets and one two-pan set, across ceramic-coated aluminium, clad stainless hybrids and titanium surfaces, so that buyers looking for a 12-inch pan or a starter set have options.
- Popularity from Best Sellers Rank only — ranks are quoted exactly as returned on 5 October 2026. Ranks move constantly, and Amazon files these ten in three different categories.
- Verified stock and seller — each product was the buy-box offer and in stock on amazon.com on 5 October 2026.

The Ten Non-PFAS Frying Pans in Detail
1. SENSARTE 11-Inch Nonstick Ceramic Frying Pan with Lid, PFAS/PTFE/PFOA Free — Best Overall

The best-ranked pan on the page names five substances, and is the only one to say exactly what kind of free it means.

|---|---|
| Title claim | PFAS/PTFE/PFOA Free |

| Lid and handle | Tempered glass lid; bakelite handle, woodgrain design |
| Induction | Yes, stated |
| Oven limit | Not stated |
| Cleaning | Dishwasher safe; hand washing recommended |
| Listed weight | 4.5 pounds |
| Seller | sensarte |
| Best Sellers Rank | #278 overall; #1 in Chef’s Pans |
Why We Recommend It
This is the most precisely worded free-of claim on the page. The first bullet says the pan is “Made of natural ceramic coating, free of intentionally added PFOA, PTFE, PFAS, lead and cadmium, safe and healthy.” That is all five substances any listing here names, the same five that XBM, Legacy and Vocvee list. What SENSARTE adds is two words: “intentionally added”.
Those two words narrow the claim, and make it more honest. “Intentionally added” is the wording commonly used in PFAS labelling and in several US state laws on PFAS in consumer products. It says the maker did not put these substances in on purpose. It does not promise that no trace could ever be detected, which is a claim no listing here can back with a published test anyway. Read alongside the other nine, it is the one free-of sentence that tells you the scope of its own promise. The other four five-substance listings simply say “free of” and leave the scope to you.
The same bullet then overreaches. After describing a ceramic coating, it says “No toxic substances will be produced even overheated. No coating to come off into your food.” The pan has a coating; the first half of the sentence says so. The likeliest reading is that SENSARTE means its coating will not flake, but the listing does not say that, and we cannot test it. Treat the five-substance list as the claim to hold the seller to, and the overheating line as marketing. Ceramic coatings in general do best at moderate heat, and the listing itself recommends hand washing to “extend its lifespan”.
The build is a straightforward ceramic frying pan. The body is “heavy-duty cast aluminum to prevent it from warping and wobbling”, with an “induction base” that the listing says suits all stovetops, induction included. The 11-inch size sits between the 10-inch singles and the 12-inch options here. It comes with a tempered glass lid and a bakelite handle with a woodgrain design, and the listing points out a “no rivets design” inside the pan, which leaves nothing for food to catch on. The spec table gives 4.5 pounds and a height of 3.4 inches.
The gap is the oven. No oven figure appears anywhere on the listing. Bakelite handles and glass lids both have heat limits, and with no number given, assume the pan is for the hob and ask SENSARTE before you put it in the oven. If oven use matters, Legacy (600°F), Viking (600°F) and the three-pan sets (500°F to 850°F) all state a figure.
What to weigh. It is sold by sensarte and ranks #278 overall and #1 in Chef’s Pans, by far the best rank on the page; the next-best pan, the Viking, sits at #2,816. No warranty is stated. Of the four pans that name all five substances, this is the only one with a ceramic-coated aluminium body rather than stainless steel, and the only one that says “intentionally added”. For more pans built this way, see our ceramic non-stick frying pan roundup.
Pros
- Five substances named, scoped as “intentionally added”
- Best rank here: #278 overall, #1 in Chef’s Pans
- Induction base, stated
- Tempered glass lid included
- Rivet-free interior
- 11 inch size between the 10 and 12 inch options
Cons
- No oven limit stated
- Says “ceramic coating” and “no coating to come off”
- Bakelite handle, heat limit not given
- Hand washing recommended for lifespan
- No warranty stated
- Third-party seller, not Amazon.com
Best for: A buyer who wants an everyday ceramic pan with a lid, on any hob including induction, and the most carefully scoped five-substance claim.
2. Legacy Culinaryware 8-Inch Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Hybrid Frying Pan, Ceramic Nonstick — Best Stainless Hybrid

Five substances named on a fully clad stainless body that goes in the oven to 600°F, in a size made for two eggs.
Key Specifications
| Free of, as listed | PFAS, PFOA, PTFE, lead and cadmium |
|---|---|
| Title claim | PFAS/PFOA Free |
| Cooking surface | Ceramic coating; no etched pattern described |
| Body | Tri-ply, aluminium core clad to the sidewalls |
| Size | 8 inch; 1.77 in high |
| Lid | Not included or not stated |
| Induction | Yes, stated |
| Oven limit | 600°F |
| Cleaning | Dishwasher safe; hand washing recommended |
| Listed weight | Not stated |
| Seller | Pin Brands |
| Best Sellers Rank | #11,778 overall; #100 in Skillets |
Why We Recommend It
The body is the best described on the page. “Unlike pans with just a bonded bottom disk, our professional skillet features a responsive aluminum core fused between two layers of stainless steel that extends all the way up the sidewalls.” That is full cladding, rim to rim. Several pans here say tri-ply; this is the one that tells you the aluminium goes up the sides rather than stopping at a disc under the base. On a small pan, it means the walls heat with the floor, which helps when you are rolling an omelette or tilting a sauce.
The free-of list names all five. “Our advanced ceramic coating is strictly free of PFAS, PFOA, PTFE, Lead, and Cadmium, releasing no harmful fumes even at high heat.” The title is narrower, “PFAS/PFOA Free”, but the bullet widens it to PTFE, lead and cadmium. The word “strictly” is the seller’s emphasis, and the fumes line is a claim we cannot test; read the five names as the substance of the promise. Unlike SENSARTE, Legacy does not say “intentionally added”, so its claim is broader on paper and no more evidenced.
Despite the word hybrid, it reads as a coated pan. The title calls it a “Tri-Ply Stainless Steel Hybrid Frying Pan” and a “Ceramic Nonstick Skillet”. The bullets describe a ceramic coating and an “ultra-smooth ceramic surface”, and say nothing of a laser-etched pattern or raised steel. On the other hybrids here, XBM, FogDream, Vocvee, GreenPan and the 12-inch pan, the etched steel is the point. Here, “hybrid” appears to mean a ceramic coating on a stainless body. That is a perfectly good pan; it is just not the same construction, and metal utensils are not mentioned.
It has the joint-highest oven figure among single pans. “With a high heat tolerance up to an incredible 600°F, it’s perfect for baking cornbread, roasting vegetables, or making the perfect frittata.” Only the Viking matches 600°F among the single pans, and only the GreenPan set goes higher. The handle is stainless steel and “engineered to stay cool on the stovetop”; in the oven, any steel handle gets hot, so plan on a mitt.
The size is the trade. At 8 inches, this is a pan for eggs and single portions. There is no lid, no listed weight and no warranty. Hand washing is “recommended to maintain the non-stick longevity”, which is an honest line from a coated pan. If two eggs are the main job, our small frying pan for eggs roundup compares more pans in this size.
What to weigh. It is sold by Pin Brands and ranks #11,778 overall and #100 in Skillets, mid-table on this page. Against the XBM, the other small pan with all five substances named, it is an inch bigger, goes 100°F higher in the oven and describes its cladding more fully; the XBM adds a lid.
Pros
- Five substances named
- Aluminium core clad up the sidewalls, stated
- Oven safe to 600°F
- Induction stated
- Dishwasher safe
- Stay-cool stainless handle
Cons
- 8 inches only
- No lid
- No etched pattern described despite “hybrid”
- Metal utensils not mentioned
- No weight or warranty stated
- Hand washing recommended for longevity
Best for: A one- or two-person kitchen that wants a small, fully clad ceramic pan with five substances named and real oven range.
3. Vocvee 10-Inch Hybrid Stainless Steel Frying Pan with Lid, PFOA Free — Best Budget

The title says PFOA-free; the bullets say free of five substances. It is the clearest case on the page for reading past the headline.
Key Specifications
| Free of, as listed | Bullet: PFOA, PTFE, PFAS, lead, cadmium and “other bad metals or substances” |
|---|---|
| Title claim | PFOA Free Cookware |
| Cooking surface | Stainless steel with a non-stick coating, laser etched; coating type not stated |
| Body | Tri-ply food-grade stainless steel |
| Size | 10 inch with lid |
| Handle | Stainless, stay-cool, removable with included fittings |
| Induction | Yes, stated |
| Oven limit | 500°F; glass lid excepted |
| Cleaning | Dishwasher safe |
| Listed weight | 3.77 pounds |
| Warranty | 2 Year |
| Seller | camtek us |
| Best Sellers Rank | #8,948 overall; #74 in Skillets |
Why We Recommend It
Read only the title and you would undersell this pan. It says “PFOA Free Cookware”. PFOA is one chemical. If that were the whole claim, it would be the narrowest on the page, and a buyer who wanted a PFAS-free pan would be right to move on. The second bullet says much more: “Free from harmful coatings, PFOA, PTFE, PFAS, lead, cadmium, and other bad metals or substances.” That puts Vocvee among the four listings that name all five.
That gap is why “PFOA-free” and “PFAS-free” should never be read as the same thing. A PFOA-free claim by itself would be compatible with a conventional PTFE coating made without PFOA, which is how most mainstream non-stick has been made for about a decade. A PFAS-free claim covers the whole family. On this listing the bullet makes the wider claim, so the pan is sold as PFAS-free; the title just does not say so. On any other listing that says only PFOA-free, assume only PFOA is covered until the seller says otherwise.
The listing calls its surface a coating and says it is free of coatings. The first bullet: “The Vocvee nonstick stainless steel pan seamlessly integrates stainless steel with a nonstick coating through precision laser etching technology.” The second: “Free from harmful coatings”. Together, the likeliest meaning is a non-stick coating set into a laser-etched steel surface, which the seller considers not harmful. The listing does not say what the coating is: not ceramic, not titanium, nothing. If you want to know, ask before you buy.
The practical spec is good for the category. Tri-ply stainless, a 10-inch pan with a glass lid, “Oven safe up to 500°F” with the glass lid excepted, and works on “gas, electric, ceramic, and induction”. It is dishwasher safe, lists 3.77 pounds and carries a 2 Year warranty in the spec table, one of only two warranties stated on the page. The handle is removable: “Installation accessories are included for easy disassembly and storage”, which helps if your cupboard is shallow.
The copy is careless in places. A bullet calls it “Our wok”. Another warns that if you skip the first wash, “small black marks may appear after heating (these are residual oil and polishing particles); this is normal”. That is a useful instruction: wash it with mild detergent and a sponge before first use, as the listing says.
What to weigh. It is sold by camtek us and ranks #8,948 overall and #74 in Skillets. It is the lowest-priced pan on the page. Against the Legacy and XBM, which also name five substances, it is the only 10-inch pan with a lid and a stated warranty.
Pros
- Bullet names five substances
- 10 inch with glass lid
- Oven safe to 500°F (not the lid)
- Induction stated; dishwasher safe
- 2 Year warranty stated
- Removable handle for storage
Cons
- Title claims only PFOA-free
- Coating type not identified
- Says coating and “free from harmful coatings”
- Needs a wash before first use
- Copy calls it a wok
- Third-party seller
Best for: A budget buyer who wants a 10-inch pan with a lid and a five-substance claim, and is happy to read past the title.
4. XBM 7-Inch Honeycomb Nonstick Frying Pan with Lid, PFAS-Free, All Cooktops — Best Small Pan

All five substances named on the smallest pan here, with a lid that has its own oven limit and a warranty stated two ways.
Key Specifications
| Free of, as listed | PFOA, PFAS, PTFE, lead and cadmium |
|---|---|
| Title claim | PFAS-Free |
| Cooking surface | “Ceramic-etched honeycomb”, “composite nonstick” |
| Body | Tri-ply, aluminium core, 304 stainless |
| Size | 7 inch; 2.0 in high |
| Lid | Included; oven safe to 400°F |
| Induction | “All Cooktops” in title; induction not named |
| Oven limit | 500°F pan; 400°F lid |
| Cleaning | Dishwasher safe |
| Warranty | 1 Year Manufacturer (spec table); “Permanent warranty” (bullet) |
| Seller | YunfanITL |
| Best Sellers Rank | #6,174 overall; #48 in Skillets |
Why We Recommend It
The free-of sentence is complete. “Prioritize safety with this non-toxic, food-grade composite nonstick pan—free of PFOA, PFAS, PTFE, lead, and cadmium, meeting top global food safety standards.” All five substances are named. The listing does not say which standards it means, or who checked, so “top global food safety standards” is a phrase rather than a certificate. The heading of that bullet, “Food-Grade Safety Certified”, names no certifier either.
The surface is a hybrid, and the listing says so in its own terms. “Ceramic-etched honeycomb surface enables oil-free frying and low-smoke cooking.” Elsewhere it is an “advanced composite nonstick”. Read together, that suggests a raised stainless honeycomb with a ceramic non-stick in the recesses, which is how most honeycomb hybrids are built, but the listing does not describe the layers. The body is tri-ply with an aluminium core and “food-grade 304 stainless steel”.
It is the smallest pan on the page, and the copy does not seem to know it. The size field says 7 inches. The third bullet calls it a “Spacious Skillet” that “works perfectly for both personal meals and family-style dishes”, with a “Deep-sided design with lid”. A 7-inch pan is an egg pan. The spec table’s 2.0-inch height is close to the 12-inch hybrid’s 2.1 inches, so the sides are reasonably deep for the size, but nobody is cooking family-style in it.
It is one of only two pans to give the lid its own oven limit. “Oven-safe up to 500°F (lid up to 400°F).” GreenPan does the same (pans 850°F, lids 425°F), and Vocvee simply excludes its glass lid from oven use. A separate lid figure is a sign the seller has thought about the parts that limit a pan. The title says “All Cooktops”; the bullets never use the word induction, though a 304 stainless and aluminium tri-ply with a magnetic base would normally work on it. Check with the seller if induction is your only hob.
The warranty is stated twice, differently. The spec table says “1 Year Manufacturer”. The last bullet says “Permanent warranty—your non stick pan protected for life.” Both cannot be the full story. Get the seller to confirm the terms in writing before you rely on the longer one.
What to weigh. It is sold by YunfanITL and ranks #6,174 overall and #48 in Skillets, the fourth-best overall rank here. No weight is stated. If you want a small pan with a five-substance list and a lid, this and the Legacy are the two choices; the Legacy is an inch larger and goes to 600°F, this one has the lid.
Pros
- Five substances named
- Lid included, with its own 400°F limit
- Pan oven safe to 500°F
- 304 stainless tri-ply body
- Dishwasher safe
- Fourth-best overall rank here
Cons
- 7 inches, the smallest pan here
- Warranty stated as 1 year and as lifetime
- Induction not named in the bullets
- “Certified” with no certifier named
- Copy calls a 7-inch pan spacious
- No weight stated
Best for: One person cooking eggs or a single portion who wants all five substances named and a lid that can go in the oven.
5. FogDream 8, 10, 12 Inch Stainless Steel Honeycomb Hybrid Frying Pan Set — Best Metal-Utensil Set

Three pans, a 12-inch included, sold as having no traditional coating to wear off; lead and cadmium are not named.
Key Specifications
| Free of, as listed | PFAS, PFOA, PTFE |
|---|---|
| Title claim | PFAS/PFOA/PTFE Free |
| Cooking surface | Laser-etched stainless honeycomb; what fills the recesses is not stated |
| Body | Tri-ply, heavy-gauge aluminium core |
| Sizes | 8, 10 and 12 inch; no lids |
| Utensils | Metal utensil safe, stated |
| Induction | Yes, stated |
| Oven limit | 500°F |
| Care | Season lightly before first use; dishwasher safe, hand wash advised |
| Listed weight | Not stated |
| Seller | HL-Fogdream |
| Best Sellers Rank | #15,090 overall; #116 in Skillets |
Why We Recommend It
The free-of list is three names, and they are the right three for the question most buyers are asking. The title says “PFAS/PFOA/PTFE Free”, and the third bullet repeats it. PFAS covers the family, PFOA and PTFE are the two members most people have heard of. What the listing does not name is lead or cadmium. That is not a sign the pans contain either; it is a claim FogDream has not made, where four other sellers on this page have.
The surface claim is about absence. “Cook with confidence with no traditional chemical nonstick coating to wear off. Safe to use with metal spatulas and whisks without worrying about scratching or flaking coatings into your food.” The first bullet describes “Laser-etched stainless steel honeycomb over a durable core” that creates “a naturally slick cooking surface”. What sits in the recesses between the raised steel, if anything, is not stated. “No traditional chemical nonstick coating” rules out a conventional PTFE layer by the seller’s account; it does not tell you whether there is a ceramic or other layer instead. If that matters to you, ask.
The care instructions are those of a steel pan. “Season lightly before first use and preheat with a small amount of oil for best nonstick performance.” That is an honest description of how etched stainless works: the raised steel does the searing, oil and a little seasoning do the releasing. It is “Dishwasher safe, but hand washing keeps your pan looking new longer.” If you expect the slide-off release of a fresh ceramic coating with no oil, the listing is telling you not to.
The build covers every hob and most ovens. A “Heavy-gauge aluminum core is fully clad between two layers of premium stainless steel”, compatible with “induction, gas, electric and ceramic glass stovetops”, and oven safe to 500°F. Metal spatulas and whisks are explicitly allowed, which only three listings here say outright: this one, the Viking and the 12-inch hybrid.
For a non-toxic 12-inch frying pan, it is one of four ways in. The set includes 8, 10 and 12-inch pans, the size field reads “8+10+12 No Lid”, and no lids come with it. The KOKHUB and GreenPan sets also include a 12-inch pan, with lids; the 12-inch hybrid is the only one sold alone. No weight is stated for the set.
What to weigh. It is sold by HL-Fogdream and ranks #15,090 overall and #116 in Skillets. No warranty is stated. Against the KOKHUB set, the other three-pan set with three named substances, it allows metal utensils in words and ranks higher; the KOKHUB adds lids and a stated 3mm thickness.
Pros
- PFAS, PFOA and PTFE named in title and bullet
- Three pans: 8, 10 and 12 inch
- Metal utensils stated as safe
- Induction and 500°F oven stated
- Fully clad aluminium core
- Plain care instructions
Cons
- Lead and cadmium not named
- No lids
- What fills the honeycomb is not stated
- Needs light seasoning and oil
- No weight or warranty stated
- Third-party seller
Best for: A cook who wants three sizes including 12 inches, uses metal spatulas and accepts a little oil and seasoning.
6. KOKHUB 8, 10, 12 Inch Titanium Ceramic Non Stick Frying Pans with Lids — Best Titanium-Ceramic Set

Three pans with lids, a stated 3mm tri-ply body, and a listing that calls its surface a coating and coating-free in consecutive bullets.

Why We Recommend It
The free-of claim names three substances and then gestures at the rest. “Our premium titanium ceramic coating is 100% free of PTFE, PFOA, PFAS, and other harmful chemicals.” PTFE, PFOA and PFAS are named; lead and cadmium are not. “Other harmful chemicals” is not a list you can check. The title makes no free-of claim at all; of the ten titles, only this one, the GreenPan’s and the 12-inch hybrid’s leave the claim to the bullets.
The next bullet contradicts the word coating. “The skillets feature innovative needle-etched technology mimicing lotus leaf effect, that reduce food contact and prevent sticking without chemical coatings.” One bullet says titanium ceramic coating; the next says no chemical coatings. The last bullet adds “Non-stick coating both inside and out”. The likeliest reading is a titanium-reinforced ceramic coating over an etched steel surface, which the seller does not count as a “chemical” coating, but the listing never says that. The claim that “The titanium molecules create an additional safety barrier that won’t oxidize when heated” is the seller’s; we have no way to assess it and make no claim either way.
The body is the most specified on the page. “Crafted from 3mm premium thickened 3-layer stainless steel construction (304 stainless steel interior, aluminum core, 430 magnetic stainless steel exterior).” It is the only listing that states a wall thickness and names all three layers by grade. 3mm is about 0.12 inches, by our arithmetic. The 430 exterior is what makes the base magnetic for induction, and the listing names induction, gas, electric and ceramic hobs. The handles are “mirror-polished 201 stainless steel”. Oven safe to “500°F (260°C)”; the listing does not give a separate limit for the glass lids.
The set is complete in a way most here are not. Three pans, 8, 10 and 12 inches, each with a tempered glass lid. The first bullet assigns them jobs: the 8-inch for “frying eggs, pancakes, or preparing single-serving meals”, the 10-inch for “small family dishes or pasta for two”, the 12-inch for “family gatherings, searing steaks, or baking casseroles”. The spec table gives 12.99 pounds for the set; whether that includes the lids or packaging is not stated. Dishwasher use is not mentioned. For more titanium-surfaced pans, see our titanium non-stick frying pan guide.
The copy does not agree on what the pans are called. The first bullet calls them a “stainless steel frying pan set”; the colour field says black, which describes the coated interior. Neither is wrong, but it is worth knowing that you are buying a coated pan on a steel body, not bare steel.
What to weigh. It is sold by KOKHUB and ranks #34,450 overall and #245 in Skillets, the lowest rank on the page. No warranty is stated. Against the GreenPan set, the other three-pan set with lids, it states a thickness and names three substances against GreenPan’s one; the GreenPan goes to 850°F and is sold by Amazon.com.
Pros
- Three pans with three glass lids
- 3mm tri-ply with 304/aluminium/430 layers stated
- PTFE, PFOA and PFAS named
- Induction and 500°F oven stated
- Includes a 12 inch pan
- Clear size-by-size uses
Cons
- Lead and cadmium not named
- Says coating and “without chemical coatings”
- No free-of claim in the title
- Dishwasher use not stated
- Lowest rank on the page
- No lid oven limit or warranty stated
Best for: A household that wants three sizes with lids on a thick, fully specified tri-ply body, and is content with a three-substance claim.
7. Non Stick Frying Pan with Lid, 12 Inch Stainless Steel Hybrid Skillet (VJVJVJ) — Best Single 12-Inch

The only 12-inch pan sold on its own here, with a 316 stainless interior, and a free-of list that stops at PFOA and PFAS.
Key Specifications
| Free of, as listed | PFOA and PFAS; “zero harmful fluorinated substances” |
|---|---|
| Title claim | None in title |
| Cooking surface | Laser-etched serpentine-grain 316 stainless; no coating described |
| Body | Tri-ply: 316 interior, aluminium core, stainless exterior |
| Size | 12 inch (size field); 10 x 8 in (dimension fields); 2.1 in high |
| Lid | In the title; not described |
| Induction | Yes, stated |
| Oven limit | Not stated |
| Cleaning | Dishwasher safe; hand washing recommended |
| Listed weight | 2.9 pounds |
| Seller | senyijia |
| Best Sellers Rank | #5,799 overall; #46 in Skillets |
Why We Recommend It
For a non-toxic 12-inch frying pan sold on its own, this is the only one on the page. The size field says 12 inch, the title says 12 Inch, and the KOKHUB, FogDream and GreenPan 12-inch pans come only as part of three-pan sets. It is also well placed in the ranks, #5,799 overall and #46 in Skillets, the third-best overall rank here.
The free-of claim is two names and a phrase. “Fully PFOA & PFAS-free material composition, zero harmful fluorinated substances, delivers safe daily cooking for your whole family.” PFOA and PFAS are named; PTFE, lead and cadmium are not. PTFE is a fluorinated polymer, so “zero harmful fluorinated substances” might be meant to cover it, but the word “harmful” is a qualifier the listing never defines, and some makers argue PTFE should not count as a harmful PFAS. If PTFE is the thing you want ruled out, this listing does not rule it out by name.
The listing describes no coating at all. The surface is a “Precision laser-etched serpentine-grain texture” that “improves food release performance, enhances scratch-resistance for safe use with metal utensils”. That is the only one of the etched hybrids here whose listing mentions neither a ceramic, a composite nor a coating. Whether that means bare etched steel or simply an undescribed layer is not stated. The inner layer is “premium 316 stainless-steel”, the only 316 interior on the page; 316 is a higher-alloy grade than the 304 named by XBM and KOKHUB, chosen in general for corrosion resistance.
Several fields do not fit together. The title says “with Lid”; no bullet mentions or describes a lid. The size field says 12 inch while the dimension fields give 10 by 8 inches. The number-of-items field reads 24, which cannot describe one pan. The brand is VJVJVJ and the seller senyijia. None of that changes the free-of claim, but it means the fields are not a reliable guide to what arrives. Confirm the lid and the diameter with the seller.
Oven use is not stated. The listing names “induction, gas, electric, ceramic and halogen stovetops” and never mentions the oven. Of the ten, only this pan and the SENSARTE give no oven information. It is dishwasher safe, with hand washing “recommended to extend service life”, and the spec table gives 2.9 pounds.
What to weigh. No warranty is stated. If you need one large pan and two named substances are enough, it is the only standalone 12-inch option here. If you want PTFE named as well, the FogDream set includes a 12-inch pan with PFAS, PFOA and PTFE in its title. For lidded stainless options more broadly, see our stainless steel frying pan with lid roundup.
Pros
- Only standalone 12 inch pan here
- Third-best overall rank: #5,799
- 316 stainless interior, the only one stated
- Metal utensils stated as safe
- Induction and halogen hobs stated
- Dishwasher safe
Cons
- Names PFOA and PFAS only; PTFE not named
- Oven use not stated
- Lid in title but never described
- Size and dimension fields disagree
- Item count field reads 24
- No warranty stated
Best for: A buyer who wants one 12-inch etched stainless pan and is satisfied with a PFOA and PFAS claim.
8. GreenPan Hybrid 6-Piece Stainless Steel Skillets with Lids, 8, 10 and 12 Inch — Best Premium Set

The best-known ceramic brand here, the highest oven figure on the page, and a free-of claim of exactly one word.
Key Specifications
| Free of, as listed | PFAS (ceramic non-stick described as PFAS-free) |
|---|---|
| Title claim | None in title |
| Cooking surface | Diamond-infused ceramic, etched stainless pattern, “nonstick boost layer” |
| Body | 3-ply, aluminium core |
| Pieces | 8, 10 and 12 inch pans, each with a lid |
| Utensils | “10x more metal utensil safe than previous GreenPan coatings”; silicone recommended |
| Induction | Yes, stated |
| Oven limit | 850°F, broiler safe; lids 425°F |
| Cleaning | Dishwasher safe; hand washing recommended |
| Listed weight | Not stated |
| Seller | Amazon.com |
| Best Sellers Rank | #7,300 overall; #49 in Cookware Sets |
Why We Recommend It
GreenPan names one substance. “INFINITE8 CERAMIC NONSTICK: GreenPan’s PFAS-free ceramic nonstick lasts longer and performs better.” That is the only free-of statement on the listing. PFOA, PTFE, lead and cadmium are not mentioned. Because PFAS is the family that includes PFOA and, on broad definitions, PTFE, a PFAS-free claim can be read as covering them; GreenPan just does not spell it out, and it says nothing about lead or cadmium either way. Four smaller sellers on this page write a longer list than one of the best-known ceramic brands.
The surface has three parts, one of them undefined. “HYBRID THERMOBOND TECHNOLOGY: The next level of nonstick performance, combining cutting-edge diamond-infused ceramic nonstick, stainless steel etched pattern, and a nonstick boost layer.” The ceramic is named, the raised steel “Etched Powerful Apex Pattern” is described, and the “nonstick boost layer” is not explained anywhere. Its composition is not stated. The PFAS-free claim is attached specifically to the ceramic; if you want to know whether it extends to the boost layer, GreenPan is the one to ask.
The heat figures are the highest on the page. “OVEN & BROILER SAFE UP TO 850°F: (Lids up to 425°F)”. 850°F is about 454°C, by our arithmetic, beyond any domestic oven, so in practice the pans will not be what limits you; the lids will. It is one of only two listings to give lids their own figure, with the XBM. All stovetops are named, induction included.
The utensil line is carefully hedged. “10x more metal utensil safe than previous GreenPan coatings, this collection is designed for everyday strength and durability. Silicone tools recommended.” That is a comparison with GreenPan’s own older coatings, not a statement that metal utensils are fine, and it ends by recommending silicone. Similarly, it is “Dishwasher safe” with “Hand wash recommended”. Read both as a coated pan asking to be treated gently.
It is the most complete set here. Six pieces: 8, 10 and 12-inch frying pans, each with a lid, on a 3-ply body with an aluminium core. Wrapped pouring rims are described as “ultra-durable, chip-free”, and the lids are “easy-view”. The dimension fields, 15 by 5 by 24 inches, describe the box, not a pan, and no weight is given.
What to weigh. It is sold by Amazon.com and ranks #7,300 overall and #49 in Cookware Sets; Amazon files it as a set, so its category rank is not comparable with the skillets. No warranty is stated. Against the KOKHUB, it buys a far higher oven figure, a household name and Amazon.com as seller; the KOKHUB names two more substances and states its thickness.
Pros
- Three pans with three lids
- Oven and broiler safe to 850°F, highest here
- Lids rated separately, 425°F
- Induction stated
- Pouring rims; dishwasher safe
- Sold by Amazon.com
Cons
- Names PFAS only
- “Nonstick boost layer” composition not stated
- Silicone tools still recommended
- Hand washing recommended
- No weight stated
- No warranty stated
Best for: A buyer who wants a complete lidded set from an established ceramic brand with real oven and broiler range, and accepts a one-word free-of claim.
9. Viking PureGlide Pro 3-Ply Nonstick Frying Pan, 10-Inch, Made without PFAS — Most Popular Hybrid

The second-best rank on the page, a metal-safe titanium surface and an oven figure of 600°F, behind a three-word free-of claim.
Key Specifications
| Free of, as listed | PFAS (“Made without PFAS”) |
|---|---|
| Title claim | Made without PFAS |
| Cooking surface | Patented titanium non-stick surface |
| Body | 3-ply clad stainless, aluminium core |
| Size | 10 inch; 2.11 in high |
| Utensils | Metal utensil safe; surface “3x harder than stainless steel” |
| Induction | Yes, stated |
| Oven limit | 600°F |
| Cleaning | Hand wash only |
| Listed weight | 1.49 pounds |
| Seller | Amazon.com |
| Best Sellers Rank | #2,816 overall; #28 in Skillets |
Why We Recommend It
“Made without PFAS” is the whole claim. It is in the title and repeated in a bullet heading: “MADE WITHOUT PFAS FOR HEALTHY COOKING”. No other substance is named. “Made without” is a process claim, much like “intentionally added”: it describes how the pan was made rather than promising what a test would find. As with GreenPan, a PFAS claim covers the family, and the listing does not separately mention PFOA, PTFE, lead or cadmium.
The surface is titanium, and the word coating comes and goes. “Viking’s patented titanium nonstick surface provides exceptional performance without traditional coatings.” Two bullets later: “3x harder than stainless steel, the titanium coating surface of this stainless steel cookware supports the use of metal utensils without damage.” So it is not a traditional coating, but it is a titanium coating surface. The patent is mentioned but not numbered, and what bonds the titanium to the steel is not described. The practical claim is clear enough: metal utensils are allowed, one of three listings here to say so outright.
The heat guidance is unusually candid. “For optimal results, use low-to-medium heat – high heat is rarely needed and may lead to scorching.” The pan is oven safe to 600°F and works on all cooktops including induction, but the listing tells you not to run it hot on the hob. That is worth heeding on any non-stick surface, and it is the only listing here that says so plainly.
It is the lightest pan with a listed weight. The spec table gives 1.49 pounds for a 10-inch 3-ply pan, against 3.77 pounds for the Vocvee 10-inch with lid and 2.9 for the 12-inch hybrid. A light pan is easy to toss and quick to heat; it also has less mass to hold heat when food goes in. The handle is riveted stainless, and “the flared rims deliver drip-free pouring”. It is “Hand wash only”, the only pan here that rules out the dishwasher.
It is the most expensive single pan on the page. What the premium buys, on the listing’s own terms, is a known brand, a patented titanium surface, metal-utensil use, 600°F and Amazon.com as seller. What it does not buy is a longer free-of list: three smaller sellers in the 7 to 10-inch range name five substances where Viking names one. For more pans with titanium surfaces, our titanium non-stick frying pan guide goes further.
What to weigh. It ranks #2,816 overall and #28 in Skillets, second only to the SENSARTE. No warranty is stated. Against the Legacy, the other single pan rated to 600°F, it is two inches larger and metal-utensil safe; the Legacy names five substances and goes in the dishwasher.
Pros
- Second-best rank: #2,816 overall, #28 in Skillets
- Metal utensils stated as safe
- Oven safe to 600°F
- Induction stated
- Honest low-to-medium heat guidance
- Sold by Amazon.com
Cons
- Names PFAS only
- Says “without traditional coatings” and “titanium coating”
- Hand wash only
- No lid
- Patent not identified
- No warranty stated
Best for: A cook who wants a 10-inch pan that tolerates metal utensils and oven heat, from a known brand, and is content with a PFAS-only claim.
10. OXO Nonstick 8 and 10-Inch Frying Pan Set, PFAS-Free Ceramic Skillets — Best Non-Induction Set

A plain, well-specified ceramic pair from a known brand, with a one-word free-of claim, the lowest oven figure and no induction.
Key Specifications
| Free of, as listed | PFAS |
|---|---|
| Title claim | PFAS-Free |
| Cooking surface | Diamond-reinforced ceramic non-stick |
| Body | Hard-anodised (aluminium) |
| Sizes | 8 and 10 inch; no lids |
| Handle | Silicone-wrapped stainless, BPA-free |
| Induction | No; all stovetops except induction |
| Oven limit | 392°F |
| Cleaning | Dishwasher safe |
| Listed weight | 3.17 pounds |
| Seller | Amazon.com |
| Best Sellers Rank | #23,793 overall; #188 in Skillets |
Why We Recommend It
The free-of line is four words. “TOXIN-FREE COOKING: Free of PFAS for healthier meals and worry-free cooking.” PFAS is the only substance named, in the title and in that bullet. OXO, like GreenPan and Viking, leaves PFOA, PTFE, lead and cadmium unmentioned. The heading “TOXIN-FREE” is broader than the sentence under it: the sentence names PFAS, and “toxin-free” is not a defined standard. Read the sentence, not the heading.
It is the only pan here that rules out induction. “Oven safe up to 392°F and suitable for all stovetops, except induction.” The body is hard-anodised aluminium, which is not magnetic, and the listing does not mention an induction plate. If you cook on induction, this is the one pan on the page you should not buy. On gas, electric coil or a glass-ceramic hob, it is fine.
The oven figure is the lowest stated. 392°F is 200°C converted, by our arithmetic, which suggests the figure was set in Celsius. It is enough to finish a frittata or keep food warm, not enough for a hot sear-and-roast. Every other pan with an oven figure states 500°F or more. The silicone-wrapped handle is likely the limit; silicone is the usual reason a pan stops short of 400°F.
The rest is plainly and usefully stated. “Premium ceramic non-stick coating enhanced with diamonds for exceptional durability and effortless food release”. “HARD-ANODIZED CONSTRUCTION: Excellent heat conduction and scratch resistance”. “DISHWASHER SAFE”, with no hand-wash caveat. “ROLLED EDGES: Drip-free pouring rims”. The handle is silicone-wrapped stainless steel and “BPA-free”. Unlike several listings on this page, OXO calls its coating a coating and does not then claim there is none.
The pair is a starter set. An 8-inch and a 10-inch pan, no lids, 3.17 pounds for both in the spec table. If you want a 12-inch pan, this set does not include one. For ceramic pans on their own, our ceramic non-stick frying pan roundup compares more options.
What to weigh. It is sold by Amazon.com and ranks #23,793 overall and #188 in Skillets. No warranty is stated. Against the SENSARTE, the other ceramic-coated aluminium pan here, it gives you two sizes and a stated oven figure; the SENSARTE names five substances, has a lid, works on induction and ranks far higher.
Pros
- Two pans, 8 and 10 inch
- Dishwasher safe with no caveat
- Calls its coating a coating, consistently
- Silicone-wrapped, BPA-free handle
- Rolled pouring rims
- Sold by Amazon.com
Cons
- Names PFAS only
- Not for induction
- Oven limit 392°F, lowest stated
- No lids
- No 12 inch pan
- No warranty stated
Best for: A gas or electric cook who wants two easy-care ceramic pans from a known brand and does not need induction or a hot oven.
Five Names, Three Names, One Name
Every listing here says PFAS-free in some form. The difference is what else it names, and how it qualifies the claim. The table sets out, for each pan, which of the five substances the listing mentions anywhere in its title or bullets. A dash means the listing does not name it; it is not a finding that the pan contains it.
| Pan | PFAS | PFOA | PTFE | Lead | Cadmium | Wording |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SENSARTE 11-inch | Named | Named | Named | Named | Named | “Free of intentionally added” |
| Legacy 8-inch | Named | Named | Named | Named | Named | “Strictly free of” |
| Vocvee 10-inch | Named | Named | Named | Named | Named | Bullet only; title says PFOA |
| XBM 7-inch | Named | Named | Named | Named | Named | “Free of” |
| FogDream set | Named | Named | Named | — | — | In title and bullet |
| KOKHUB set | Named | Named | Named | — | — | “And other harmful chemicals” |
| 12-inch hybrid | Named | Named | — | — | — | “Zero harmful fluorinated substances” |
| GreenPan set | Named | — | — | — | — | Attached to the ceramic layer |
| Viking 10-inch | Named | — | — | — | — | “Made without” |
| OXO set | Named | — | — | — | — | Under a “toxin-free” heading |
Ten name PFAS, seven name PFOA, six name PTFE, four name lead and cadmium. The four five-name listings are all from smaller sellers: SENSARTE, Legacy Culinaryware, Vocvee and XBM. The three one-name listings are from OXO, GreenPan and Viking, the three pans sold by Amazon.com at capture. We cannot tell from the listings why the established brands write shorter lists. A shorter list is not evidence of anything in the pan; it is simply a narrower written promise.
How the five relate. PFAS, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, is a large chemical family. PFOA is one specific member, historically used as a processing aid in making PTFE non-stick coatings and phased out by the major US manufacturers around 2015. PTFE is the fluoropolymer that forms classic non-stick coatings; whether it counts as a PFAS depends on the definition used, and broad definitions such as the OECD’s include it. Lead and cadmium are metals, not fluorinated chemicals at all; their mention is a separate claim about the materials and any pigments or glazes. So the five claims nest only partly: PFAS-free should cover PFOA and, on broad definitions, PTFE; PFOA-free covers only PFOA; and neither says anything about lead or cadmium.
The qualifiers matter as much as the names. “Intentionally added” (SENSARTE) and “made without” (Viking) describe what the maker did, not what a test would detect. “Strictly free of” (Legacy) and “100% free of” (KOKHUB) sound absolute, but none of the ten listings names a laboratory, a test standard or a certificate. “Harmful”, in “zero harmful fluorinated substances” and “other harmful chemicals”, leaves the seller to decide what counts. Treat every claim here as the seller’s word, and the longer, more specific words as the ones you can hold them to.

PFOA-Free Is Not PFAS-Free
The single most useful thing to know when shopping for a non-PFAS frying pan is that “PFOA-free” and “PFAS-free” are different claims that differ by one letter. A PFOA-free claim says one chemical was not used. Since the large manufacturers stopped using PFOA about a decade ago, a conventional PTFE-coated pan can truthfully be called PFOA-free. A PFAS-free claim is about the whole family, and is the one this keyword is asking for.
On this page, the trap is in one title. Vocvee’s headline reads “PFOA Free Cookware”. If that were all the listing said, it would not be a PFAS-free pan on paper. Its second bullet adds PTFE, PFAS, lead and cadmium, so it is. Seven listings here name PFOA, and on all seven it appears beside PFAS somewhere. Only in the Vocvee title does PFOA stand alone.
The fix is simple. When a listing says PFOA-free, search the bullets and description for the letters PFAS and PTFE. If neither appears, the listing has not claimed the pan is PFAS-free or PTFE-free, whatever the photos or the word “healthy” suggest. Ask the seller. For pans that do use a conventional coating, our nonstick frying pan guide covers that category on its own terms.
Coating, No Coating, or Both
The second place these listings disagree is the word coating. Some say ceramic coating and stick to it. Some describe etched steel and no coating at all. Several say both, in different bullets. Here is each listing’s own description of its cooking surface.
| Pan | What the listing calls the surface | Contradiction on the listing |
|---|---|---|
| SENSARTE | “Natural ceramic coating” | “No coating to come off into your food” |
| Legacy | “Advanced ceramic coating” | None; “hybrid” in title, no etching described |
| Vocvee | Stainless “with a nonstick coating”, laser etched | “Free from harmful coatings” |
| XBM | “Ceramic-etched honeycomb”, “composite nonstick” | None |
| FogDream | Laser-etched stainless honeycomb | “No traditional chemical nonstick coating”; recess filling not stated |
| KOKHUB | “Titanium ceramic coating” | “Without chemical coatings” |
| 12-inch hybrid | Laser-etched serpentine-grain 316 stainless | None; no coating mentioned at all |
| GreenPan | Diamond-infused ceramic, etched pattern, boost layer | None; boost layer undefined |
| Viking | “Patented titanium nonstick surface” | “Without traditional coatings” and “titanium coating surface” |
| OXO | “Ceramic non-stick coating enhanced with diamonds” | None |
Four listings contradict themselves on the word. SENSARTE, Vocvee, KOKHUB and Viking each call the surface a coating in one place and deny a coating, or a harmful or traditional one, in another. The pattern is consistent: “no coating” seems to mean “no PTFE-type coating” or “no coating that flakes”, and the sellers have not said so. Legacy, XBM, GreenPan and OXO describe their surfaces without contradicting themselves. FogDream and the 12-inch hybrid describe etched steel and leave the question of what, if anything, fills the pattern unanswered.
Why it matters for care, not just labels. A ceramic coating, however reinforced, is a layer that wears; the listings that admit it recommend hand washing (SENSARTE, Legacy, GreenPan) or silicone tools (GreenPan). Etched steel hybrids put raised steel above the non-stick layer, which is why FogDream, the 12-inch hybrid and Viking allow metal utensils. FogDream also asks for light seasoning and oil, the clearest sign that the steel is doing part of the work. Decide which behaviour you want, then read the care instructions as the honest description of the surface.
Where Each Pan Says It Can Go
A free-of list is only part of the decision. A pan also has to suit your hob and, if you finish dishes in the oven, your oven. Here is what each listing states.
| Pan | Size | Induction | Oven | Lid | Dishwasher |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SENSARTE | 11 in | Yes | Not stated | Glass | Yes; hand wash advised |
| Legacy | 8 in | Yes | 600°F | No | Yes; hand wash advised |
| Vocvee | 10 in | Yes | 500°F, not the lid | Glass | Yes |
| XBM | 7 in | “All Cooktops” | 500°F; lid 400°F | Yes | Yes |
| FogDream | 8, 10, 12 in | Yes | 500°F | No | Yes; hand wash advised |
| KOKHUB | 8, 10, 12 in | Yes | 500°F | Glass, x3 | Not stated |
| 12-inch hybrid | 12 in | Yes | Not stated | Title only | Yes; hand wash advised |
| GreenPan | 8, 10, 12 in | Yes | 850°F; lids 425°F | Yes, x3 | Yes; hand wash advised |
| Viking | 10 in | Yes | 600°F | No | Hand wash only |
| OXO | 8, 10 in | No | 392°F | No | Yes |
Eight name induction in words, one says all cooktops and one rules it out. The OXO, on a hard-anodised aluminium body, is the only pan here not for induction. The XBM says “All Cooktops” without naming induction. Every other listing names it.
Oven figures run from 392°F to 850°F, and two pans give none. GreenPan’s 850°F and the 600°F on Legacy and Viking are the high end; the XBM, FogDream, KOKHUB and Vocvee sit at 500°F; OXO at 392°F. The SENSARTE and the 12-inch hybrid give no oven information at all. Where a lid is included, check its own limit: the XBM’s lid stops at 400°F, GreenPan’s at 425°F, and Vocvee excludes its glass lid from the oven entirely.
For a non-toxic 12-inch frying pan, there are four routes. The 12-inch hybrid is the only one sold alone, naming PFOA and PFAS. The FogDream, KOKHUB and GreenPan sets each include a 12-inch pan, naming three, three and one substance respectively. None of the four names all five. If a 12-inch pan with a five-substance list is the requirement, none of these ten meets it; the SENSARTE, at 11 inches, comes closest.

Popularity Follows the Ceramic Pan
Star ratings were not captured for this roundup, so the only popularity measure here is Amazon’s Best Sellers Rank, as returned on 5 October 2026. Ranks move constantly, and Amazon files these ten in three different categories, so category ranks are not comparable across all ten. Read the overall order.
| Pan | Overall rank | Category rank | Substances named |
|---|---|---|---|
| SENSARTE 11-inch | #278 | #1 in Chef’s Pans | 5 |
| Viking 10-inch | #2,816 | #28 in Skillets | 1 |
| 12-inch hybrid | #5,799 | #46 in Skillets | 2 |
| XBM 7-inch | #6,174 | #48 in Skillets | 5 |
| GreenPan set | #7,300 | #49 in Cookware Sets | 1 |
| Vocvee 10-inch | #8,948 | #74 in Skillets | 5 (title: 1) |
| Legacy 8-inch | #11,778 | #100 in Skillets | 5 |
| FogDream set | #15,090 | #116 in Skillets | 3 |
| OXO set | #23,793 | #188 in Skillets | 1 |
| KOKHUB set | #34,450 | #245 in Skillets | 3 |
One pan is in a different league. The SENSARTE ranks #278 overall, about ten times better than the next pan by our arithmetic, the Viking at #2,816. It is a single 11-inch ceramic pan with a lid and an induction base, and it also happens to carry the most carefully scoped five-substance claim. Below it, the ranks bunch between about #2,800 and #12,000 for six pans, with the FogDream, OXO and KOKHUB further back. There is no clear link between the length of the free-of list and the rank; the Viking, naming one substance, is second, and the KOKHUB, naming three, is last.
Best Alternatives
| Alternative | Why Consider It | Better For | Main Trade-Off |
|---|---|---|---|
| A cast iron skillet; see our cast iron skillet guide | No applied non-stick layer of any kind; seasoning only | Searing and oven work at any domestic temperature | Heavy, needs seasoning, slow to heat |
| Uncoated clad stainless; see our stainless steel frying pan with lid roundup | Bare steel, nothing to wear off | Browning, deglazing and pan sauces | Eggs and fish stick without technique and fat |
| A ceramic-only pan; see our ceramic non-stick frying pan roundup | The most slide-off release among PFAS-free surfaces | Eggs, pancakes, low-fat cooking | Coating wears; gentle heat and utensils |
| Carbon steel | Bare steel with a seasoned surface, lighter than cast iron | High-heat cooking and long service life | Needs seasoning and drying; reacts with acids |
What Each Step Up Actually Buys
The single ceramic-coated aluminium pans — SENSARTE and the OXO pair. The easiest release and the lightest care demands. The SENSARTE buys five named substances, a lid, induction and the best rank on the page, without an oven figure. The OXO buys two sizes and a stated 392°F oven limit, without induction, and names only PFAS.
The small clad pans — XBM and Legacy. Stepping to a stainless tri-ply body buys even heating and oven figures of 500°F and 600°F, with all five substances named on both. The XBM adds a lid; the Legacy adds sidewall cladding and an inch of diameter. Both are egg-and-omelette sizes.
The 10-inch hybrids — Vocvee and Viking. The everyday size. The Vocvee buys a lid, a 2-year warranty and five substances in its bullets, at the budget end. The Viking buys a patented titanium surface, metal-utensil use, 600°F and the second-best rank, with a PFAS-only claim and hand washing.
The 12-inch and the sets — the 12-inch hybrid, FogDream, KOKHUB, GreenPan. More pan. The 12-inch hybrid buys one large pan and a 316 interior. FogDream buys three sizes and metal-utensil use without lids. KOKHUB buys three sizes with lids and a stated 3mm body. GreenPan buys three sizes with lids, an 850°F oven and broiler figure and Amazon.com as seller. None of the four names lead or cadmium, and the GreenPan names PFAS alone.
Paying more does not lengthen the list. The most expensive single pan here, the Viking, names one substance, and so does the GreenPan set. The lowest-priced pan, the Vocvee, names five. On this page, the premium goes on brand, surface technology, oven range and sizes; the free-of list you have to read for yourself.

What to Check Before You Buy
Read the Whole Free-Of Sentence
All ten listings say PFAS somewhere; only four go on to name PFOA, PTFE, lead and cadmium. Find the sentence that begins “free of” or “made without”, and list what it names. A substance a listing does not name is not a finding against the pan; it is a promise the seller has not made.
Do Not Read PFOA-Free as PFAS-Free
PFOA is one chemical; PFAS is the family. A conventional PTFE pan can be PFOA-free. Vocvee’s title says only PFOA-free, though its bullet names PFAS too. Whenever a title says PFOA, search the rest of the listing for PFAS and PTFE before you assume.
Notice the Qualifiers
“Intentionally added” and “made without” describe the maker’s process. “Harmful” lets the seller decide what counts. “100%” and “strictly” sound absolute, but no listing here names a test, a laboratory or a certificate. If a written certificate matters to you, ask the seller for it.
Find Out What the Surface Actually Is
Four listings call their surface a coating and deny a coating in another bullet. Look for the plainest description: ceramic coating, titanium surface or etched steel. Then read the care instructions, which tend to be the most honest line on the page: hand wash and silicone tools mean a coating that wears; metal utensils and light seasoning mean raised steel doing the work.
Check Induction in Words
Eight listings name induction. The XBM says all cooktops without the word. The OXO rules induction out because its hard-anodised aluminium body is not magnetic. If induction is your only hob, buy a listing that names it.
Check the Oven Limit, and the Lid’s
Stated limits run from 392°F on the OXO to 850°F on the GreenPan; the SENSARTE and the 12-inch hybrid state none. Lids often stop lower: 400°F on the XBM, 425°F on the GreenPan, and Vocvee excludes its glass lid. If you finish dishes in the oven, use the lower of the two figures.
Confirm the Size and What Is in the Box
Sizes here run from 7 to 12 inches. The 12-inch hybrid’s size field and dimension fields disagree, its title promises a lid no bullet describes, and its item count reads 24. The XBM calls a 7-inch pan spacious. Where fields conflict, confirm the diameter and the contents with the seller before you order.
Common Mistakes
- Reading PFOA-free as PFAS-free. Vocvee’s title says only PFOA-free; a conventional PTFE pan can say the same.
- Stopping at the letters PFAS. All ten say PFAS; only four of ten also name PFOA, PTFE, lead and cadmium.
- Taking “toxin-free” or “healthy” as a standard. OXO’s “toxin-free” heading sits over a sentence that names one substance.
- Treating a seller’s claim as a test result. None of the ten listings names a laboratory, a test standard or a certificate.
- Believing “no coating” on a coated pan. Four listings call the surface a coating in one bullet and deny it in another.
- Buying the OXO for an induction hob. It is the one pan of ten that rules induction out.
- Putting the lid in at the pan’s oven limit. The XBM pan goes to 500°F but its lid to 400°F; GreenPan’s pans 850°F, lids 425°F.
- Assuming a 12-inch pan with all five named exists here. Four options include 12 inches; none names more than three substances.
Who Should Buy Which
Buy the SENSARTE 11-Inch if you want one everyday pan and the most carefully worded claim. Five substances named, scoped as “intentionally added”, a glass lid, an induction base and the best rank here by far. Accept that no oven limit is stated and that its copy calls a coated pan coating-free.
Buy the Legacy Culinaryware 8-Inch if you cook for one or two and use the oven. Five substances named, a body clad up the sidewalls, 600°F and dishwasher safe. Accept the small size, no lid, and a “hybrid” that reads as a ceramic-coated steel pan.
Buy the Vocvee 10-Inch if you want a lidded everyday pan at the budget end. Five substances in its bullet, 500°F, a removable handle and a 2-year warranty. Accept that the title says only PFOA-free and the coating is not identified.
Buy the XBM 7-Inch if you want the smallest pan with all five named and a lid. 500°F for the pan, 400°F for the lid. Accept that it is an egg pan, whatever the copy says, and that the warranty is stated two ways.
Buy the FogDream set if you want three sizes including 12 inches and use metal tools. PFAS, PFOA and PTFE named, metal utensils allowed, 500°F. Accept no lids, a little oil and seasoning, and no mention of lead or cadmium.
Buy the KOKHUB set if you want three sizes with lids on a thick, fully specified body. 3mm tri-ply with grades stated, PTFE, PFOA and PFAS named. Accept the coating contradiction and the lowest rank here.
Buy the 12-inch stainless hybrid if you need one large pan. The only standalone 12-inch pan, with a 316 interior and metal utensils allowed. Accept a PFOA-and-PFAS claim, no oven figure and fields that do not agree.
Buy the GreenPan Hybrid set if you want a complete lidded set with serious oven range. Three pans and three lids, 850°F and broiler safe, sold by Amazon.com. Accept a one-word free-of claim and an undefined boost layer.
Buy the Viking PureGlide Pro if you want a known brand’s metal-safe 10-inch pan. Titanium surface, 600°F, the second-best rank. Accept hand washing and a PFAS-only claim.
Buy the OXO pair if you cook on gas or electric and want easy care. Two ceramic pans, dishwasher safe, consistently described. Accept no induction, a 392°F oven limit and a PFAS-only claim.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best non stick non PFAS frying pan?
On the listings alone, the SENSARTE 11-Inch Nonstick Ceramic Frying Pan with Lid. Its free-of claim names all five substances any listing here mentions, PFAS, PFOA, PTFE, lead and cadmium, and it is the only one that says exactly what kind of free it means: free of intentionally added substances. It has an 11 inch cast aluminium body with an induction base, a tempered glass lid, and by far the best Best Sellers Rank on the page, #278 overall and #1 in Chef’s Pans. Its weaknesses are that no oven limit is stated and that its copy says both ceramic coating and no coating. If you want a stainless body and oven range, the Legacy Culinaryware 8-inch names the same five and goes to 600°F. On a budget, the Vocvee 10-inch names five in its bullets and includes a lid.
Is PFOA-free the same as PFAS-free?
No. PFAS is a large family of fluorinated chemicals; PFOA is one member of it. PFOA was used for years as a processing aid in making PTFE non-stick coatings, and the large US manufacturers stopped using it around 2015. That means a conventional PTFE-coated pan made today can truthfully be labelled PFOA-free while still having a fluoropolymer coating. A PFAS-free claim is broader: it covers the whole family, which under broad definitions includes PTFE. On this page, Vocvee’s title says only PFOA Free Cookware, while its second bullet adds PTFE, PFAS, lead and cadmium, so the listing as a whole does make the wider claim. On any listing that says only PFOA-free, search the rest of the text for PFAS and PTFE before assuming the pan is free of either. If they do not appear, the seller has not claimed it.
Is PTFE a PFAS?
It depends on the definition. PTFE, the fluoropolymer behind classic non-stick coatings, is made of carbon and fluorine, and under broad definitions, such as the one the OECD uses, it counts as a PFAS. Some manufacturers and industry groups argue that a stable, high-molecular-weight polymer like PTFE should be treated differently from the smaller PFAS chemicals that have drawn most concern. We take no position on that debate here. For shopping, the practical point is that a listing which names PFAS but not PTFE has not ruled PTFE out by name. Six of the ten listings on this page name PTFE explicitly: SENSARTE, Legacy, Vocvee, XBM, FogDream and KOKHUB. The 12-inch hybrid says zero harmful fluorinated substances, which may be meant to include it. GreenPan, Viking and OXO name only PFAS. If PTFE matters to you, buy a listing that names it.
What is the best frying pan without toxins?
No listing can prove a negative, and none of the ten here names a laboratory, test standard or certificate, so the honest answer is the pan with the most specific written claim. Four listings name five substances: SENSARTE, Legacy Culinaryware, Vocvee and XBM all say free of PFAS, PFOA, PTFE, lead and cadmium. SENSARTE scopes it as intentionally added, which is the most careful wording. Words like toxin-free, healthy and non-toxic appear on several listings, including OXO’s toxin-free heading over a sentence that names only PFAS, but they are not defined standards. If you want a pan with no applied non-stick layer at all, cast iron, carbon steel and bare stainless steel are the usual alternatives, with the trade-off that food release depends on seasoning, fat and technique. We make no claims about the health effects of any material.
What is the best healthy frying pan?
We do not rank pans on health, because we cannot assess health effects and the listings provide no test evidence. What we can compare is what each seller claims. Seven listings here use words like healthy, healthier or non-toxic, from Legacy’s non-toxic and healthy cooking heading to Viking’s made without PFAS for healthy cooking. Those are marketing words. The useful information sits in the free-of sentence underneath. If your idea of a healthy pan is one sold as free of PFAS, PFOA, PTFE, lead and cadmium, the SENSARTE, Legacy, Vocvee and XBM listings name all five. If you also want to cook with less oil, the coated pans, the SENSARTE and OXO especially, describe the easiest release; the etched steel hybrids, such as FogDream, ask for a little oil and light seasoning. Follow each listing’s heat guidance; Viking’s advice to use low-to-medium heat is worth applying to any non-stick pan.
What is the best non toxic 12 inch frying pan?
Four products here include a 12-inch pan, and none of them names all five substances. The only standalone 12-inch pan is the stainless hybrid sold by senyijia under the VJVJVJ brand, with a 316 stainless interior and a laser-etched surface; its listing names PFOA and PFAS and says zero harmful fluorinated substances, but does not name PTFE, and it gives no oven limit. The FogDream set includes a 12-inch pan with PFAS, PFOA and PTFE named in its title, metal utensils allowed and 500°F in the oven, but no lids. The KOKHUB set names the same three, includes lids and states a 3mm tri-ply body. The GreenPan Hybrid set includes a lidded 12-inch pan rated to 850°F, naming PFAS only. If a five-substance list matters more than the last inch, the SENSARTE at 11 inches is the closest match.
Are ceramic or stainless hybrid pans better for a PFAS-free kitchen?
Both are sold as PFAS-free on this page, and neither type has a monopoly on long free-of lists. Ceramic-coated pans, such as the SENSARTE and the OXO, generally give the easiest release from new and ask for gentle care: hand washing, silicone tools and moderate heat. Their coating is a layer that wears over time. Stainless hybrids put a raised, etched steel pattern over or around a non-stick layer, which is why FogDream, Viking and the 12-inch hybrid allow metal utensils, and why FogDream asks for light seasoning and a little oil. Several hybrids, including GreenPan and XBM, combine a ceramic layer with the steel pattern. Among the five-substance listings, one is ceramic-coated aluminium, one is a ceramic-coated clad pan and two are etched hybrids. Choose by how you cook and clean, then check the free-of list.
Can I use metal utensils on a non-PFAS frying pan?
Only where the listing says so. Three listings here allow metal utensils outright: FogDream says its pans are safe with metal spatulas and whisks, the 12-inch hybrid says its laser-etched surface is safe with metal utensils, and Viking says its titanium surface supports metal utensils without damage. GreenPan’s line is more hedged: 10x more metal utensil safe than previous GreenPan coatings, followed by silicone tools recommended. KOKHUB says its surface prevents scratches and minimises utensil damage without explicitly approving metal tools. The ceramic-coated pans, SENSARTE, Legacy and OXO, do not mention metal utensils, and coated surfaces generally last longer with wood or silicone. Where a listing is silent, assume silicone or wood is the safer choice for the surface, and check the seller’s care guidance before using metal.
Final Verdict
Five substances named and scoped as “intentionally added”, a lid, induction, and the best rank here at #278 overall.
The same five substances on a body clad up the sidewalls, oven safe to 600°F and dishwasher safe.
Five substances in the bullet despite a PFOA-only title, plus a lid, 500°F and a 2-year warranty.
All ten pans on this page say PFAS-free; the useful difference is what else they say. Four name five substances, PFAS, PFOA, PTFE, lead and cadmium. Two name three, one names two, and three, from OXO, GreenPan and Viking, name PFAS alone. None of the ten names a laboratory, a test standard or a certificate, so every claim here is the seller’s word, and the longer, more specific word is the one you can hold them to.
PFOA-free is not PFAS-free. PFOA is one chemical in a large family, and a conventional PTFE pan can be PFOA-free. On this page, the only listing where PFOA stands alone is Vocvee’s title, and its bullet goes on to name all five. Read past the headline every time.
The copy is loose, so read the plainest lines. Four listings call their surface a coating in one place and deny it in another. The care instructions and the free-of sentence are the most specific text most of these listings contain; the words healthy, non-toxic and toxin-free are not standards. We make no health claims of our own, and nothing here should be read as a finding about what any pan contains.
If you buy one pan from this page, make it the SENSARTE 11-Inch: five substances named with the most honest scope on the page, “intentionally added”, a glass lid, an induction base and the best rank by a wide margin. If you want a stainless body that goes in the oven, the Legacy Culinaryware 8-inch names the same five and is rated to 600°F; if budget comes first, the Vocvee 10-inch names five in its bullets and brings a lid and a 2-year warranty.
