A glass food storage container is two objects sold as one: a glass base and a lid that is almost always plastic. Read ten of the best-selling glass sets side by side and the two halves turn out to have very different rules.
The glass ratings are generous. Rubbermaid says its glass bases are “oven-safe up to 450 degrees F”; Amazon Basics says its containers withstand “temperatures up to 1076°F”. The lid ratings are a different story. Not one of the ten says its lid can go in the oven, and six tell you to take it off before the oven, the microwave or both. The 1076°F container and the 450°F container share the same practical ceiling the moment you want to cover the food.
So this guide sorts the ten by what each listing lets the whole container do: the glass type, the real container count, the capacities, the lid’s material and lock, where the glass may go and where the lid may not, and the leak-proof claim. Star ratings and review counts were not captured for this roundup; popularity below is Amazon’s Best Sellers Rank only.

Best Sellers Ranks and specifications are taken from each manufacturer’s Amazon listing as displayed on 5 October 2026 through a United States connection, and may change. Oven figures describe the glass only. No listing here says its lid is oven-safe; where a listing addresses the lid, it says to remove it. “Containers (as sold)” counts glass bases: Rubbermaid and Amazon Basics count lids as pieces in their titles, so their 8 and 14 become 4 and 7 here. Pyrex calls its set a 12-pack and its first bullet lists twelve containers “with lid” (three each of 4-cup, 2-cup, 1-cup and 3-cup); its NumberOfItems field says 1. The Liuruiyu lists its size as “MIX” and gives no capacities. Dealusy’s only rank returned was #2 in Containers, a different category from the other nine, so it is not comparable with the overall figures. Ranks are as returned on 5 October 2026. Rubbermaid, Pyrex and Amazon Basics were sold by Amazon.com at capture; the other seven by their brands’ own storefronts. Amazon Basics was flagged as scarce stock. No listing states a warranty. Star ratings and review counts were not captured for any product here.

How We Chose These Ten
We researched current listings, compared manufacturer specifications and documentation, and read each listing’s claims about its glass, its lids, its sizes and its temperature limits line by line. We did not carry out hands-on testing, and nothing below is presented as measured performance data. Star ratings and review counts were not captured for this roundup. We used Amazon Best Sellers Rank, buy-box stock and listing specifications instead, and nothing on this page describes or implies how owners have scored these sets.
- Glass containers with lids only — every product here is a set of glass food storage containers sold with matching lids, from a two-piece casserole pair to a twelve-container mixed set. All-plastic sets, glass jars and canisters were not in the running; our food storage containers roundup covers the wider field.
- Glass type recorded as printed — borosilicate where the listing says borosilicate, tempered where it says tempered, and “not stated” where it names neither. We do not assume a glass type from the brand.
- Containers counted, not pieces — where a title counts lids as pieces, we count the glass bases and say so. Where a listing’s count fields disagree with its bullets, we report both.
- Capacities added up — where every container’s capacity is stated, we totalled them in US fluid ounces, converting cups at 8 fluid ounces each and millilitres at 29.57 per fluid ounce. Those totals are our arithmetic, labelled as such.
- Glass and lid limits kept apart — oven, microwave, freezer and dishwasher claims are logged separately for the glass and for the lid, because the listings almost always treat them differently. A limit a listing does not state is marked not stated.
- Leak claims quoted, not graded — “100% leak proof”, “leak-resistant” and “will stop leaking” are different words, and we quote whichever one each listing uses.
- Warranty checked on every listing — none of the ten states one.
- Popularity from Best Sellers Rank only — ranks are quoted exactly as returned on 5 October 2026. Nine of the ten were ranked in Container Sets; Dealusy was ranked in Containers.
- Verified stock and seller — each product was the buy-box offer and in stock on amazon.com on 5 October 2026. The Amazon Basics set was flagged as scarce stock at capture.

The Ten Glass Food Storage Sets in Detail
1. Rubbermaid Brilliance Glass Food Storage, 4 Containers (8 Pieces), 2118313 — Best Overall

The smallest amount of glass on the page, with the only lid the listing lets you take into the microwave latched-off but on.
Key Specifications
| Glass type | Not stated |
|---|---|
| Set count | 4 containers + 4 lids, sold as “8 total pieces” |
| Capacities | 2 x 2-cup, 2 x 3.2-cup |
| Total capacity | 10.4 cups, about 83 fl oz (our arithmetic) |
| Lid | Crystal-clear, vented, latching; material not named; BPA-free |
| Oven | Glass bases to 450°F; lid not stated |
| Microwave | Reheating only, lids unlatched |
| Freezer / dishwasher | Freezer-safe; dishwasher-safe, lids top rack |

| Model | 2118313 |
| Seller and rank | Amazon.com; #9 overall, #2 in Container Sets |
Why We Recommend It
This is the set the page is built around, because its lid is the one that does the most. Every other listing here either keeps its lid out of the microwave or says nothing about it. Rubbermaid says the containers have “vented, microwave-safe lids for easy, splatter-resistant microwaving”, and its care bullet sets the condition: “microwave-safe for reheating only with lids unlatched”. That is a real limit, since the lid is cleared for reheating rather than cooking and only with the latches open, but it means you can cover the food against splatter. On the KOMUEE, the Vtopmart 5-pack, the Dealusy, the MCIRCO and the Snuvid, the lid comes off first.
The glass is rated, but not named. “OVEN-SAFE: Glass bases are oven-safe up to 450 degrees F, so they double as glass cookware and serveware.” 450°F is the lowest stated oven figure on the page, but it covers ordinary roasting and reheating in a domestic oven. The listing never says whether the glass is borosilicate or tempered; seven competitors name borosilicate and Pyrex names tempered. If the glass type matters to you, for example because you plan to move containers straight from the freezer into a hot oven, this listing leaves you to ask. Note also the wording: it is the “glass bases” that are oven-safe, and the lid is not mentioned for the oven at all.
Eight pieces means four containers. The title says “set of 4 containers 8 total pieces (4 containers + 4 lids)”, which at least spells it out, and the last bullet confirms “Two 2-cup and two 3.2-cup glass containers with lids”. That is 10.4 cups in all, about 83 US fluid ounces by our arithmetic, the least storage on the page. The KOMUEE holds more than three and a half times as much. If you are filling a week of lunches, four containers is a starter set, not a system.
The lid system is the selling point. The lids are “100% airtight and leak-proof, plus odor and stain resistant”, and “Universal lids fit across all Brilliance containers, regardless of material type”, so lids from Rubbermaid’s plastic Brilliance range should fit these bases too. The listing calls them “crystal-clear” and BPA-free but does not name the material. Freezer-safe and dishwasher-safe are both stated, with the lids on the top rack. No silicone seal is mentioned, which sets it apart from eight of the other nine.
What to weigh. It is sold by Amazon.com and ranks #9 overall and #2 in Container Sets, by far the best rank on the page; the next set, the KOMUEE, is at #114. The model is 2118313. No warranty is stated. You are buying the most capable lid and the strongest seller position here, and accepting the least glass, the lowest stated oven figure and no named glass type. For a household that reheats under a cover more often than it bakes, that is the right trade.
Pros
- Lid cleared for microwave reheating, unlatched
- Vented lid limits splatter
- “100% airtight and leak-proof” claimed
- Universal lids across the Brilliance range
- Sold by Amazon.com
- #9 overall, best rank on the page
Cons
- Glass type not named
- Only 4 containers despite “8 pieces”
- About 83 fl oz in all, the least here
- 450°F, the lowest stated oven figure
- Lid not cleared for the oven
- No warranty stated
Best for: A household that reheats covered leftovers in the microwave and wants a lid that can stay on, unlatched.
2. KOMUEE 10 Pack 30 oz Glass Meal Prep Containers with Lids, R190 — Best for Meal Prep

Ten identical borosilicate containers and the most storage on the page, with a lid that has to come off for almost everything but the fridge.
Key Specifications
| Glass type | Borosilicate |
|---|---|
| Set count | 10 glass containers + 10 plastic lids |
| Capacities | 10 x 30 oz; size field also says “100 centiliters” |
| Total capacity | 300 fl oz (our arithmetic) |
| Lid | Plastic, snap-lock, silicone seals |
| Oven | Glass oven-safe, no figure; remove lids |
| Microwave | Glass yes; remove lids |
| Freezer / dishwasher | Both stated; lids off, top rack or hand wash |
| Leak claim | “will stop leaking” |
| Warranty | Not stated |
| Model | R190 |
| Seller and rank | KOMUEE US; #114 overall, #5 in Container Sets |
Why We Recommend It
For batch cooking, the arithmetic is simple and it favours this set. Ten containers of one size, 30 ounces each: 300 US fluid ounces of storage by our arithmetic, the largest total on the page. The listing spells out the count plainly: “10 plastic lids & 10 glass containers”. No lid is being counted as a container. One size means every lid fits every base and every container stacks on every other, which for a Sunday meal prep is worth more than variety.
The glass is named and the limits are clear. “Our glass meal prep containers are made of premium borosilicate glass, which is stronger than cheaper glass food storage containers, can go straight from the refrigerator to the microwave or oven to the table.” Microwave, freezer, dishwasher and oven are all claimed for the glass. No oven temperature is given, so you cannot compare it with the 450°F, 752°F and 1076°F figures elsewhere; for a container this size, a domestic oven’s reheating temperatures are what matter, and the listing says oven without qualification.
The lid, though, comes off for nearly everything. “Take off the plastic lids before placing in dishwasher, oven and microwave for better maintenance (lids on the top rack or hand wash).” That one sentence covers three of the four appliances, and the parenthesis then allows the lids in the dishwasher’s top rack after all. Read it as: glass anywhere, lids in the fridge, the freezer and the top rack, never in a heated appliance. If you reheat at work, you will want a plate or a paper towel over the open container.
The seal is a snap-lock with silicone. “KOMUEE Glass food storage containers use snap lock plastic lids that comes with silicone seals”, the listing says, and “These lids are easy to open, shut and will stop leaking. These lids will not easily break off.” “Will stop leaking” is a softer phrase than the “100% leak proof” on the Vtopmart 8-pack and the Dealusy, and “will not easily break off” is a durability claim, not a warranty. No warranty is stated.
One size field disagrees with the title. The title and bullets say 30 ounces. The size field reads “30 oz (100 centiliters)”, and 100 centilitres is a litre, about 33.8 US fluid ounces by our arithmetic. The likeliest reading is that 30 ounces is the practical fill and a litre the brim capacity, but the listing does not say so; plan portions on 30. The listed weight, about a quarter of a pound for ten glass containers, cannot be right, so we leave it out.
What to weigh. It is sold by KOMUEE US and ranks #114 overall and #5 in Container Sets, second on the page. The model is R190. Against the Rubbermaid you get more than three and a half times the storage and named borosilicate glass, and you give up a lid you can microwave under. For anyone filling ten lunch boxes at a time, that is the trade to take.
Pros
- 300 fl oz in all, the most on the page (our arithmetic)
- Borosilicate glass, stated
- Ten identical containers; every lid fits every base
- Microwave, oven, freezer and dishwasher stated for the glass
- Silicone-sealed snap-lock lids
- Second-best rank here, #114 overall
Cons
- Lids must come off for oven and microwave
- No oven temperature stated
- “Will stop leaking”, not a 100% claim
- Size field says 100 cl, about 33.8 fl oz
- One size only
- No warranty stated
Best for: Weekly meal preppers who fill ten identical lunches and reheat with the lid off.
3. Vtopmart 5 Pack 22oz Glass Storage Containers with Lids, Grey (5Pack 650ml) — Best Lunch-Size Set

Five lunch-size borosilicate containers with flip-open hinged lids, rated from -4°F to 752°F, glass only.
Key Specifications
| Glass type | Borosilicate |
|---|---|
| Set count | 5 containers with lids |
| Capacities | 5 x 22 oz (model field: 650ml) |
| Total capacity | 110 fl oz (our arithmetic) |
| Lid | Hinged flip lid, removable silicone seal; material not named |
| Oven | -4°F to 752°F stated; take off lid first |
| Microwave | Glass yes; take off lid first |
| Freezer / dishwasher | Both stated; lid dishwasher limits not stated |
| Leak claim | “zero leaking or spilling” |
| Warranty | Not stated |
| Model and part | 5Pack 650ml; FSVM0015AMDE |
| Seller and rank | Vtopmart Direct; #243 overall, #13 in Container Sets |
Why We Recommend It
This is a lunch box set, and the size says so. Five containers at 22 ounces each, 110 fluid ounces in all by our arithmetic. The model field gives the metric size, 650ml, which is about 22 US fluid ounces, so here the two figures agree. The listing pitches it for “food prep, office lunches, take out, packing leftovers, portion control”, and a single 22-ounce size is a sensible portion for one person’s lunch without the bulk of a 30-ounce box.
The lid is the distinctive part. “Each lid comes with innovated hinged-lids and makes the lid easy to flip open & shut, ensuring zero leaking or spilling, never endure spilled soup or sauce dirty your bag. The silicone seals can be removed to wash easily.” A hinged lid that flips rather than lifting off means fewer loose lids in the drawer, and a removable seal is easier to clean than one moulded in. The listing does not name the lid material.
The temperature band is wide and belongs to the glass. “It can withstand temperatures from -4ºF to 752ºF (-20ºC to 400°C). (Note: Before putting it into the microwave/ oven, please take off the lid.)” 752°F is far beyond any domestic oven, which in practice means the oven will never be the limit; the lid will. It comes off before heating, like every lid on this page that addresses the question.
Its model number separates it from the other Vtopmart set. The 5-pack and the Vtopmart 8-pack share a seller, the -4°F to 752°F band and the borosilicate claim, so they can look like one product in search results. The model fields say otherwise: 5Pack 650ml here, 8Pack Standard there, with part numbers FSVM0015AMDE and SVM0601001-EU-YH. The lid is different too, a single flip-open hinge here against four snap locks on the 8-pack. Treat them as separate products, and do not expect lids to swap between them.
What to weigh. It is sold by Vtopmart Direct and ranks #243 overall and #13 in Container Sets. The leak claim, “zero leaking or spilling”, is one of the stronger ones here. The dishwasher claim covers the containers; the listing does not say where the lids go. No warranty is stated. Against the KOMUEE you get half the containers and smaller ones, with a hinged lid instead of a loose snap lid.
Pros
- Borosilicate glass, stated
- Hinged flip lids stay attached
- Removable silicone seals
- -4°F to 752°F stated for the glass
- 650ml and 22 oz agree
- “Zero leaking or spilling” claimed
Cons
- Lid off before microwave and oven
- Lid material not named
- Only five containers, one size
- Lid dishwasher limits not stated
- Sold by the brand, not Amazon.com
- No warranty stated
Best for: Office lunches in one portion size, carried in a bag where a hinged, sealed lid earns its keep.
4. Liuruiyu 8 Pack Glass Food Storage Containers with Lids, LIU-FH-8 — Best Bento-Style Set

Eight mixed containers and an airtight snap-lock lid, sold without a single capacity or a named glass type.
Key Specifications
| Glass type | Not stated; “lead-free glass” |
|---|---|
| Set count | 8 containers with lids |
| Capacities | Not stated; size field “MIX” |
| Total capacity | Cannot be calculated |
| Lid | Snap-lock, silicone seals; material not named |
| Oven | “About -4°F to 752°F”; lid not addressed |
| Microwave | Stated for the set; lid not addressed |
| Freezer / dishwasher | Both stated |
| Leak claim | Title: “Leak Proof Locking”; bullet: “leak-resistant” |
| Warranty | Not stated |
| Model | LIU-FH-8 |
| Seller and rank | Liuruiyu; #307 overall, #16 in Container Sets |
Why We Recommend It
This listing tells you the least about what you are buying. It promises a “VERSATILE SIZE ASSORTMENT FOR DAILY USE” and “multiple practical sizes”, and its size field reads simply “MIX”. Not one capacity is given. You know there are eight containers, because the title and the item count both say 8, and you know nothing about how much any of them holds. Every other set on the page lets you work out its total storage; this one does not.
The glass is described, not named. The listing says the containers are “Built from durable heat- and cold-resistant glass” and made with “lead-free glass”. It never says borosilicate and never says tempered. Its temperature band, “about -4°F to 752°F (-20°C to 400°C)”, is the same figure the two Vtopmart listings and the Snuvid give, with the word “about” added. A rating copied in shape but hedged in wording is not the same as a named material.
The lid is a snap-lock with silicone, and the heat rules for it are missing. “Secure snap-lock lids with silicone seals create an airtight barrier to help maintain freshness and reduce spills during transport.” The set is sold as “OVEN, MICROWAVE, FREEZER & DISHWASHER SAFE”, but the listing never separates glass from lid. It does not say the lid can go in the oven, and nothing else on this page would suggest it can. Treat the lid as fridge, freezer and top-rack only until the seller says otherwise.
Its own leak claim changes between title and bullet. The title says “Airtight Bento Boxes with Leak Proof Locking”. The bullet heading says “AIRTIGHT LEAK-RESISTANT LOCKING LIDS”, and the body talks about helping to “reduce spills”. Leak-resistant is the more cautious word, and on a listing this sparse it is the one to plan around. If you carry soup, ask first.
What to weigh. It is sold by Liuruiyu and ranks #307 overall and #16 in Container Sets. The model is LIU-FH-8. Amazon files it under Tools & Home Improvement as its binding, though the product group is Kitchen. No warranty is stated. The “bento” label suggests compartments, but the listing does not describe any. Buy it only if the seller can tell you the eight capacities; without them you cannot tell whether it fits your fridge or your lunch.
Pros
- Eight containers in mixed sizes
- Snap-lock lids with silicone seals
- Oven, microwave, freezer and dishwasher stated for the set
- -4°F to 752°F, approximately
- Lead-free glass stated
- Stackable, clear design
Cons
- No capacities stated at all
- Glass type not named
- Bullet says “leak-resistant”, title says leak proof
- Lid heat limits not separated from glass
- “Bento” but no compartments described
- No warranty stated
Best for: A buyer happy to ask the seller for sizes first, who wants a mixed set with snap-lock seals.
5. Vtopmart 8 Pack Glass Food Storage Containers with Lids, Green (8Pack Standard) — Best Size Range

Eight different sizes from 5 to 35.1 ounces, all stated, with four-hinge snap locks and a 100% leak-proof claim.
Key Specifications
| Glass type | Borosilicate |
|---|---|
| Set count | 8 containers with lids |
| Capacities | Rectangle 35.1, 21.6, 12.5, 5 oz; square 27.1, 17.6, 10.8, 6.8 oz |
| Total capacity | 136.5 fl oz (our arithmetic) |
| Lid | 4-hinge snap locks, removable silicone seals; material not named |
| Oven | -4°F to 752°F stated; lid not addressed |
| Microwave | Glass yes; lid not addressed |
| Freezer / dishwasher | Both stated in the bullet heading |
| Leak claim | “100% Leak Proof Airtight Lid” |
| Warranty | Not stated |
| Model and part | 8Pack Standard; SVM0601001-EU-YH |
| Seller and rank | Vtopmart Direct; #320 overall, #17 in Container Sets |
Why We Recommend It
This is the most completely described assortment on the page. The first bullet lists every container: “Rectangle (35.1OZ)+(21.6OZ)+(12.5OZ)+(5OZ); Square (27.1OZ)+(17.6OZ)+(10.8OZ)+(6.8OZ)”. Eight sizes, two shapes, from a 5-ounce sauce pot to a 35.1-ounce leftovers box, 136.5 fluid ounces in all by our arithmetic. Compare the Liuruiyu, which sells eight mixed containers and states none of them. If you want variety and want to know what the variety is, this is the listing that delivers it.
The glass is borosilicate, rated -4°F to 752°F. “Vtopmart Meal Prep Container is able to withstand -4℉ to 752℉ (-20℃ – 400℃), the glass containers is made of high-quality borosilicate glass to hold up very well from refrigerator direct to microwave.” The bullet heading reads “Glass Containers Safe for Oven/ Microwave/ Freezer/ Dishwasher”. Note the word glass: the rating is for the containers, and unlike its 5-pack sibling, this listing does not tell you to remove the lid before heating. It simply does not mention the lid in that bullet. Assume it comes off.
The lid is the strongest locking design described here. “Glass food containers is designed with removable silicone seals and 4-hinge snap locks to ensure zero leaking or spilling, which also prevent smell go out and keep food fresh.” The heading claims “100% Leak Proof Airtight Lid”, the same strength of claim as Dealusy and Rubbermaid. Four clips on every lid, and seals you can take out to wash. The lid material is not named; the listing says the set is “100% BPA Free”.
It is a different model from the Vtopmart 5-pack. Its model field reads 8Pack Standard and its part number SVM0601001-EU-YH, against 5Pack 650ml (FSVM0015AMDE) on the 5-pack. The lid design differs too: four-hinge snap locks here, a single flip-open hinged lid on the 5-pack. The temperature band and the borosilicate claim are shared, which is likely why the two look alike in search results. They are not interchangeable, and there is no sign that lids swap between them.
What to weigh. It is sold by Vtopmart Direct and ranks #320 overall and #17 in Container Sets. The listed weight, under a pound for eight glass containers, cannot be right, so we leave it out. No warranty is stated. The containers “stack into each other for easier storing when you don’t use them”, which matters with eight sizes in a cupboard. Against the Amazon Basics, it gives you one more container and more small sizes, with a lower stated glass rating and no lid microwave clearance.
Pros
- Every one of eight capacities stated
- Borosilicate, -4°F to 752°F stated
- 4-hinge snap locks with removable seals
- “100% Leak Proof” claimed
- Rectangle and square shapes
- Nests for storage when empty
Cons
- Lid heat limits not stated
- Lid material not named
- Total capacity 136.5 fl oz, mid-table
- Listed weight not usable
- Sold by the brand, not Amazon.com
- No warranty stated
Best for: A kitchen that wants every size from sauce pot to leftovers box, each one stated, with a four-clip seal.
6. Dealusy 10 Sets 36 oz & 12 oz Glass Food Storage Containers with Lids, Gray, GC001 — Best Main-and-Side Pairing

Five large and five small borosilicate containers, a 100% airtight claim and four-sided locks, with lids off before heating.
Key Specifications
| Glass type | Borosilicate, “premium thick” |
|---|---|
| Set count | 10 containers with lids (5 large, 5 small) |
| Capacities | 5 x 36 oz, 5 x 12 oz |
| Total capacity | 240 fl oz (our arithmetic) |
| Lid | 4-sided snap-locking hinges, removable silicone ring; material not named |
| Oven | Oven-safe, no figure; remove lids before heating |
| Microwave | Glass yes; remove lids before heating |
| Freezer / dishwasher | Freezer stated; glass dishwasher-safe |
| Leak claim | “100% airtight and leakproof seal” |
| Warranty | Not stated |
| Model | GC001 |
| Seller and rank | Dealusy; #351 overall, #2 in Containers |
Why We Recommend It
The split is the point. “This value package includes 5 large 36 oz containers and 5 small 12 oz containers with matching lids.” A 36-ounce box takes a full dinner portion or a batch of grains; a 12-ounce one takes the sauce, the dressing or the side that should not go soggy against the main. Five of each is a working week of paired meals. In total that is 240 fluid ounces, by our arithmetic, level with the Pyrex and just ahead of the MCIRCO.
The glass claim leans on thickness. “Made of premium thick borosilicate glass, Dealusy meal prep containers ensure no cracks or shattering under temperature changes. They are much stronger than ordinary glass and dishwasher safe for long-term reuse.” No thickness figure is given, and “ensure no cracks or shattering” is a strong promise to make without one. MCIRCO, selling a very similar five-and-five set, says its borosilicate is “thinner, lighter”. One listing says thick, the other thin, and neither gives a number.
The lid has the most emphatic seal claim on the page. “Designed with a removable silicone sealing ring and 4-sided snap-locking hinges, these containers ensure a 100% airtight and leakproof seal.” Four-sided locking matches the Vtopmart 8-pack, and the silicone ring comes out for cleaning. The lid material is not named. For heat, the rule is short: “(Note: Remove lids before heating)”. That covers the oven and the microwave in one go.
Its rank sits in a different list. The only rank returned for Dealusy was #2 in Containers, while the other nine were ranked in Container Sets and given an overall figure. A #2 in a narrower category is not comparable with #2 in Container Sets on the Rubbermaid. What it does tell you is that this set sells strongly within the category Amazon put it in. The size field says “12 ounces”, which describes only the small containers; the title and bullets confirm the 36-ounce half.
What to weigh. It is sold by Dealusy. The model is GC001. Freezer and microwave are stated, dishwasher is stated for the glass, and the lid’s dishwasher limits are not. No warranty is stated. The containers are “single-compartment”, which the listing says outright. If you want large and small boxes in one order and a seal claim at full strength, this is the set; if you want a stated oven temperature, look at the Vtopmart or Amazon Basics listings.
Pros
- Five 36 oz and five 12 oz containers
- 240 fl oz in all (our arithmetic)
- Borosilicate glass, stated
- 4-sided snap locks, removable silicone ring
- “100% airtight and leakproof” claimed
- Single-compartment, stated
Cons
- No oven temperature stated
- Lids off before any heating
- Lid material not named
- “Thick” with no figure
- Rank is in Containers, not comparable
- No warranty stated
Best for: Meal preppers who pack a main and a side separately, five days at a time.
7. Pyrex Simply Store 12-Pack Glass Food Storage Containers Set, 1136614 — Best Round Set

The only tempered glass on the page and a lid cleared for microwave and freezer, with no lock, no seal and no oven claim.
Key Specifications

| Capacities | 4-cup, 2-cup and 1-cup round; 3-cup rectangle |
| Total capacity | 30 cups, 240 fl oz (our arithmetic) |
| Lid | BPA-free plastic, snug fit; no lock or seal stated |
| Oven | Not stated for glass or lid |
| Microwave | Lid microwave-safe; glass not stated |
| Freezer / dishwasher | Lid freezer-safe and top-rack dishwasher-safe; glass not stated |
| Leak claim | None |
| Warranty | Not stated |
| Model | 1136614 |
| Seller and rank | Amazon.com; #437 overall, #21 in Container Sets |
Why We Recommend It
Pyrex inverts the pattern on this page. Every other listing tells you where the glass can go and stays vague about the lid. This one tells you exactly where the lid can go, “BPA-Free plastic lid is freezer, microwave, and top-rack dishwasher safe”, and says nothing about the glass in the oven, the microwave or the freezer. The glass gets one line: “High-quality tempered glass gives you a peace of mind when storing your food, resists stains and odors.” Storing, not baking.
Tempered is not borosilicate, and the listing says which it is. Seven of the ten name borosilicate, a glass made to expand very little with heat, which is why it is sold on surviving temperature swings. Tempered glass is toughened by heat treatment, which makes it stronger and makes it break into small pieces rather than shards, but the listing does not claim it handles sudden temperature changes. Since Pyrex also makes no oven claim, the safe reading is a storage set first. Check the maker’s care instructions in the box before using it for anything hot.
The lid fits snug, and that is all it claims. “Plastic lid fits snug over glass container to keep your food fresh and tasty. The colored lids make for a nice, bright touch to your storage.” No clips, no latch, no silicone seal, and no airtight or leak-proof claim. It is the only set on the page with no leak claim of any kind. For fridge storage of leftovers and prepped ingredients, a snug press-on lid does the job; for a lunch bag with soup in it, nothing in this listing says it will hold.
The count is generous but reads oddly. The title says 12-pack. The first bullet says “Includes (3) 4-Cup, (3) 2-Cup, (3) 1-Cup round containers with lid, and (3) 3-Cup rectangle container with lid”, which reads as twelve containers, each with a lid: 30 cups or 240 fluid ounces by our arithmetic, level with the Dealusy. The item-count field says 1, meaning one set. Mostly round containers suit soups, stews and anything you spoon out; the three rectangles stack better.
What to weigh. It is sold by Amazon.com and ranks #437 overall and #21 in Container Sets. The model is 1136614. The listing calls on the brand, “Loved for generations”, but states no warranty. Buy it for a fridge full of round bowls with lids you can microwave under, and do not buy it for oven use or carried liquids until you have read the care leaflet.
Pros
- Lid cleared for microwave, freezer and top-rack dishwasher
- Twelve containers in four sizes listed
- 240 fl oz in all (our arithmetic)
- Mostly round bowls, easy to spoon from
- Sold by Amazon.com
- Tempered glass type stated
Cons
- No oven claim at all
- Glass microwave and freezer limits not stated
- No lock, no seal
- No airtight or leak-proof claim
- Not borosilicate
- No warranty stated
Best for: Fridge storage in round bowls, reheated in the microwave under the lid, never carried full of soup.
8. M MCIRCO 10 Pack Glass Food Storage Containers with Lids, Gray, 370+1040 — Best Five-and-Five Alternative

A five-large, five-small borosilicate set like the Dealusy, sold on thinner glass and a lid that stays out of every heated appliance.
Key Specifications
| Glass type | Borosilicate, “thinner, lighter” |
|---|---|
| Set count | 10 containers with lids (5 large, 5 small) |
| Capacities | 5 x 34 oz, 5 x 13 oz |
| Total capacity | 235 fl oz (our arithmetic) |
| Lid | Plastic, snap-lock, silicone seals |
| Oven | Glass oven-safe, no figure; lid not |
| Microwave | Glass yes; plastic lid not |
| Freezer / dishwasher | Both stated for the glass |
| Leak claim | “will stop leaking” |
| Warranty | Not stated |
| Model | 370+1040 |
| Seller and rank | MCIRCO Shop; #482 overall, #24 in Container Sets |
Why We Recommend It
On paper it is the Dealusy’s near twin. “With 5 packs 34oz containers and 5 packs 13oz containers, they are great for meal prepping.” Five large and five small, 235 fluid ounces in all by our arithmetic, five ounces short of the Dealusy’s 36 and 12. The model field reads 370+1040, which looks like the two sizes in millilitres: about 12.5 and 35.2 US fluid ounces by our arithmetic, close to but not the same as the 13 and 34 the bullet states. Plan on the bullet’s figures; the gap is under an ounce either way.
The glass pitch runs opposite to Dealusy’s. “Our glass storage containers are made from premium borosilicate glass, which is thinner, lighter but stronger than other glass food storage containers.” Dealusy sells “premium thick” borosilicate. Neither gives a wall thickness, so the claims cannot be checked against each other. Lighter glass is easier to carry in a lunch bag; thicker glass may survive a knock better. The listing’s weight field gives a figure for the whole shipped set, which tells you nothing about one container, so we leave it out.
The lid limits are the clearest on the page. “Easy to use and easy to take care of, as the glass containers can be used in the microwave, freezer, dishwasher, and oven. But the plastic lid can not be placed in the microwave and oven.” Two sentences, glass then lid, no ambiguity. Most of the other listings get to the same place with a note in brackets. The lid is named as plastic, with “snap lock lids that comes with silicone seals”.
The leak and durability claims are worded carefully. “These lids are easy to use and will stop leaking. These lids will not break or slowly stop working.” That is close to KOMUEE’s wording, and like KOMUEE’s it is a promise in a bullet, not a warranty. No warranty is stated. “Will stop leaking” is a step below the “100%” claims on the Dealusy, Rubbermaid and Vtopmart 8-pack.
What to weigh. It is sold by MCIRCO Shop and ranks #482 overall and #24 in Container Sets. Amazon lists its binding as Tools & Home Improvement. Choose it over the Dealusy if you prefer a lighter container and a lid named as plastic with its limits spelled out; choose the Dealusy if you want the stronger seal claim, four-sided locks described and slightly larger boxes.
Pros
- Five 34 oz and five 13 oz containers
- Borosilicate glass, stated
- Clearest glass-versus-lid limits on the page
- Snap-lock lids with silicone seals
- Glass cleared for microwave, freezer, dishwasher and oven
- “Thinner, lighter” glass for carrying
Cons
- Plastic lid barred from microwave and oven
- No oven temperature stated
- “Will stop leaking”, not a 100% claim
- Model field implies slightly different sizes
- No wall thickness stated
- No warranty stated
Best for: Meal preppers who want large and small boxes and a lighter container to carry, reheated lid-off.
9. Amazon Basics Glass Food Storage Containers, Set of 7 (14 Pieces), ABL009 — Best Assorted Set

The highest stated glass rating on the page, four sizes in two shapes, and lids allowed in the microwave if unlatched.
Key Specifications
| Glass type | Borosilicate |
|---|---|
| Set count | 7 containers + 7 lids, sold as “14 Pieces” |
| Capacities | 2 x 1.6-cup and 2 x 4.5-cup rectangle; 2 x 1.7-cup and 1 x 4-cup round |
| Total capacity | 19.6 cups, about 157 fl oz (our arithmetic) |
| Lid | Locking, blue silicone ring; material not named |
| Oven | Glass up to 1076°F; lids not oven safe |
| Microwave | Glass yes; lids if not sealed or latched |
| Freezer / dishwasher | Freezer stated; glass and lids dishwasher-safe, lids top rack |
| Leak claim | “leak-proof” |
| Warranty | Not stated |
| Model | ABL009 |
| Seller and rank | Amazon.com, scarce stock; #735 overall, #30 in Container Sets |
Why We Recommend It
This listing writes the clearest set of rules on the page, for both halves. “Containers are freezer, microwave, and oven safe (lids are not oven safe and can be used in microwave if not sealed or latched to containers); withstands temperatures up to 1076°F and sudden temperature changes without cracking.” One sentence tells you where the glass goes, where the lid goes and what the glass is rated for. It is the only listing other than Rubbermaid’s that lets the lid into the microwave at all, on the same condition: unlatched.
1076°F is the highest figure here, and it is a glass figure. It sits well above the 752°F of the Vtopmart and Liuruiyu listings and more than twice Rubbermaid’s 450°F. In a home kitchen, none of those differences changes what you can cook, because no domestic oven gets near 752°F. What the higher figure does signal, together with the line about “sudden temperature changes without cracking”, is a listing confident about thermal shock. The glass is named: “BPA-free, non-porous borosilicate glass that won’t retain odors, flavors, or stains”.
Fourteen pieces are seven containers. The title says “Set of 7, 14 Pieces Including Lids”, and the size bullet lists them: “(2) rectangular containers with 1.6 cup capacity, (2) rectangular containers with 4.5 cup capacity, (2) round containers with 1.7 cup capacity, and (1) round container with 4 cup capacity, and 7 lids”. That is 19.6 cups, about 157 fluid ounces by our arithmetic. Four sizes in two shapes cover snacks, sides, leftovers and a family-size bowl, and every size is stated.
The lid locks and seals, and goes in the dishwasher. The listing describes “7 matching locking lids”, and the colour field reads “clear with blue silicone ring”. The leak claim is plain: “These leak-proof glass food storage containers are ideal for storing sauces, soups, and other liquids without spills.” Care is spelled out: “Glass containers and lids are dishwasher safe; place lids in top rack; wash lids by hand for best results”. The lid material itself is not named.
What to weigh. It is sold by Amazon.com and ranks #735 overall and #30 in Container Sets. The model is ABL009. It was flagged as scarce stock at capture, so availability may come and go. The listed weight, 1.35 pounds for seven glass containers, looks too low to be the set, so we leave it out. No warranty is stated. If you want an assortment of named sizes, borosilicate stated, and a lid you can microwave under, this is the most complete listing on the page.
Pros
- Borosilicate glass, stated
- Highest glass rating here: 1076°F
- Lid microwave-safe unlatched
- Four sizes, two shapes, all stated
- Thermal shock resistance claimed
- Sold by Amazon.com
Cons
- Lids not oven safe
- Seven containers despite “14 pieces”
- Scarce stock at capture
- Lid material not named
- Lowest-ranked of the three sold by Amazon.com
- No warranty stated
Best for: A kitchen that wants named sizes in two shapes, borosilicate glass and a lid that can cover food in the microwave.
10. Snuvid 4 Pack 8 Cups/63oz Large Glass Storage Containers with Lids, LGSCW88 — Best for Casseroles

Four 63-ounce borosilicate dishes for baking and storing family meals, with a locking plastic lid the listing keeps out of the microwave.
Key Specifications
| Glass type | Borosilicate; BPA-free and lead-free |
|---|---|
| Set count | 4 containers + 4 lids |
| Capacities | 4 x 63 oz (1860ml each; size field 8 Cups) |
| Total capacity | 252 fl oz (our arithmetic) |
| Lid | Plastic, lockable, removable silicone sealing ring |
| Oven | -4°F to 752°F stated; lid not addressed |
| Microwave | Glass yes; lid removed |
| Freezer / dishwasher | Freezer-to-oven and dishwasher stated; lid not separated |
| Leak claim | Title “Leak Proof”; bullet “preventing leaks—even with soups” |
| Warranty | Not stated |
| Model | LGSCW88 |
| Seller and rank | Snuvid; #1,211 overall, #53 in Container Sets |
Why We Recommend It
This is the set on the page sold as bakeware as much as storage. “This glass food storage containers set (63oz / 1860ml each) is ideal for family meal prep, baking for lunch, storing roasted chicken, pasta, leftovers and more.” Four dishes of 63 ounces each, the largest containers here by a wide margin; the next biggest is Dealusy’s 36. Together they hold 252 fluid ounces by our arithmetic, second only to the KOMUEE’s 300, spread across four family-size dishes rather than ten lunch boxes.
Three size figures, close enough to agree. The title says “8 Cups/ 63oz”, the bullet says “63oz / 1860ml each”, and the size field says “8 Cups”. By our arithmetic, 8 cups is 64 US fluid ounces and 1860 millilitres is about 62.9. The spread is about an ounce, so plan on 63. The containers have “a wide opening for easy scooping or pouring”, which suits a dish you serve from, and the listed weight, about 9.8 pounds for the set, is plausible for four large glass dishes.
The glass is borosilicate and the heat claim is broad. “These glass meal prep containers withstand temperatures from -4°F to 752°F (-20°C to 400°C), allowing seamless transitions from freezer to oven. Food can be cooked directly in the containers using a microwave (with lid removed) or an oven.” It is the same -4°F to 752°F band the Vtopmart and Liuruiyu listings give, and the only one of them to claim freezer-to-oven in so many words. The glass is “high-quality borosilicate glass”, BPA-free and lead-free.
The lid rule covers the microwave and skips the oven. The listing says to remove the lid for the microwave and says nothing about the lid in the oven. Nothing on this page clears a lid for the oven, and this lid is named as plastic, so roast uncovered and clip the lid on once the glass has cooled. “The lockable plastic lid with a silicone seal opens and closes easily while preventing leaks—even with soups.” The sealing ring is removable for cleaning. The dishwasher claim sits in the heading, “Oven, Microwave, Fridge & Dishwasher Safe”, without saying where the lid goes; the top rack is the safe assumption.
What to weigh. It is sold by Snuvid and ranks #1,211 overall and #53 in Container Sets, the lowest rank on the page. The model is LGSCW88, shared with no other set here. Amazon lists its binding as Tools & Home Improvement. No warranty is stated. Four 63-ounce dishes make a narrow set for lunches but a generous one for batch-cooked family meals: bake in the glass, cool, lid and refrigerate.
Pros
- Largest containers here: four at 63 oz
- 252 fl oz in all (our arithmetic)
- Borosilicate glass, stated
- Freezer-to-oven claimed, -4°F to 752°F
- Plastic locking lid with removable silicone ring
- Wide opening for scooping and serving
Cons
- Lid off for the microwave
- Lid oven limits not stated
- Lowest rank on the page, #1,211 overall
- Lid dishwasher limits not stated
- Sold by the brand, not Amazon.com
- No warranty stated
Best for: Baking a lasagna or roast in the dish, then lidding and refrigerating the leftovers in the same glass.
Two Halves, Two Rulebooks
The table below puts the glass and the lid side by side for every listing, using only what each one says. Read across a row and the gap is plain. The glass column is mostly claims of oven, microwave, freezer and dishwasher; the lid column is mostly “remove”, “not” and “not stated”.
| Set | Glass type | Glass oven | Lid oven | Lid microwave | Lid dishwasher |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rubbermaid | Not stated | 450°F | Not stated | Yes, unlatched, reheat only | Top rack |
| KOMUEE | Borosilicate | Yes, no figure | Remove | Remove | Top rack or hand wash |
| Vtopmart 5-pack | Borosilicate | 752°F | Remove | Remove | Not stated |
| Liuruiyu | Not stated | About 752°F | Not stated | Not stated | Not stated |
| Vtopmart 8-pack | Borosilicate | 752°F | Not stated | Not stated | Not stated |
| Dealusy | Borosilicate | Yes, no figure | Remove | Remove | Not stated |
| Pyrex | Tempered | Not stated | Not stated | Yes | Top rack |
| MCIRCO | Borosilicate | Yes, no figure | No | No | Not stated |
| Amazon Basics | Borosilicate | 1076°F | No | Yes, if not latched | Top rack |
| Snuvid | Borosilicate | 752°F | Not stated | Remove | Not stated |
Zero lids are cleared for the oven. Five listings tell you to remove the lid before the oven or say it is not oven-safe; Rubbermaid restricts the oven claim to its bases; four say nothing about the lid in the oven, though the Snuvid does say to remove it for the microwave. So the oven ratings, 450°F, 752°F and 1076°F, describe an uncovered dish. If a recipe needs a covered bake, you will need foil or a separate baking lid, whichever set you buy.
Three lids are cleared for the microwave, each with a condition. Rubbermaid’s for reheating with the latches open, Amazon Basics’ when not sealed or latched, and Pyrex’s with no condition stated, though Pyrex does not clear its glass for the microwave in the same bullet. Five listings tell you to remove the lid, and two do not say. A sealed, latched lid traps steam, which is the likeliest reason every listing that allows the lid insists it be left loose.
Glass ratings run far beyond the kitchen. 752°F is 400°C; 1076°F is 580°C. A domestic oven typically tops out around 500 to 550°F. In practice, every set here with an oven claim covers ordinary roasting and reheating, and the differences between the stated figures will not show up at home. What will show up is temperature change: moving a container from freezer to hot oven, or pouring boiling liquid into cold glass. Amazon Basics and Dealusy address that directly; the rest leave it to the glass type.

Pieces, Containers and Ounces
Ten listings, three ways of counting. Most count containers. Two count containers plus lids. One calls itself a 12-pack and lists twelve containers each with a lid. The table converts every count into glass containers and, where every size is stated, adds the capacities. The totals are our arithmetic, converting cups at 8 US fluid ounces.
| Set | Count as sold | Glass containers | Sizes stated | Total fl oz (ours) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| KOMUEE | 10 packs | 10 | 10 x 30 oz | 300 |
| Snuvid | 4 pack | 4 | 4 x 63 oz | 252 |
| Dealusy | 10 sets | 10 | 5 x 36, 5 x 12 oz | 240 |
| Pyrex | 12-pack | 12 listed | 3 each of 4, 3, 2, 1 cup | 240 |
| MCIRCO | 10 pack | 10 | 5 x 34, 5 x 13 oz | 235 |
| Amazon Basics | 14 pieces | 7 | 1.6, 1.7, 4, 4.5 cup | About 157 |
| Vtopmart 8-pack | 8 pack | 8 | 5 to 35.1 oz | 136.5 |
| Vtopmart 5-pack | 5 pack | 5 | 5 x 22 oz | 110 |
| Rubbermaid | 8 pieces | 4 | 2 x 2, 2 x 3.2 cup | About 83 |
| Liuruiyu | 8 pack | 8 | “MIX” | Not calculable |
The bestseller holds the least. Rubbermaid ranks #9 overall and carries about 83 fluid ounces of glass. KOMUEE, at #114, carries 300. Shoppers at the top of the rankings are not buying volume; on the evidence of the listings, they are buying the brand, the seller and a lid that can stay on in the microwave.
Piece counts flatter by exactly two. Counting lids doubles the headline number. Rubbermaid’s “8 total pieces” and Amazon Basics’ “14 Pieces” are honest, since both say the lids are included, but a buyer scanning titles might set them against a “10 pack” and assume similar sets. They are four and seven containers against ten. If you are comparing, halve any count that includes the word “pieces”.
Two size fields disagree with their own titles. KOMUEE gives “30 oz (100 centiliters)”, and 100 centilitres is about 33.8 fluid ounces. MCIRCO’s model field, 370+1040, reads as millilitres of about 12.5 and 35.2 ounces against the 13 and 34 in its bullet. Both gaps are small. Vtopmart’s 650ml matches its 22 ounces, Snuvid’s 63 oz, 1860ml and 8 cups come within about an ounce of each other, and Dealusy’s size field simply lists its smaller container. For storage, the gap matters less than knowing your typical portion; for a recipe that fills the dish, use the lower figure.
How Strongly Each Set Claims to Seal
Every set but one claims some resistance to leaks, and the words vary more than the designs. The table quotes each claim and the lock described with it.
| Set | Leak claim, as worded | Lock described | Silicone seal |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rubbermaid | “100% airtight and leak-proof” | Latches (implied by “unlatched”) | Not stated |
| Vtopmart 8-pack | “100% Leak Proof Airtight Lid” | 4-hinge snap locks | Yes, removable |
| Dealusy | “100% airtight and leakproof seal” | 4-sided snap-locking hinges | Yes, removable ring |
| Vtopmart 5-pack | “zero leaking or spilling” | Hinged flip lid | Yes, removable |
| Snuvid | “preventing leaks—even with soups” | Lockable lid | Yes, removable ring |
| Amazon Basics | “leak-proof” | Locking lids | Yes, blue ring |
| KOMUEE | “will stop leaking” | Snap lock | Yes |
| MCIRCO | “will stop leaking” | Snap lock | Yes |
| Liuruiyu | Title “Leak Proof”; bullet “leak-resistant” | Snap-lock | Yes |
| Pyrex | None | None; “fits snug” | Not stated |
Eight of ten describe a silicone seal; one set relies on a press fit. A gasket in a groove, squeezed by clips, is what makes a container carry soup. Pyrex describes neither clips nor gasket, and it is also the only set that makes no leak claim, which is at least consistent. Rubbermaid makes a 100% claim without mentioning a seal; its lid design is not described in enough detail to say how it seals.
None of these claims is a test result. No listing describes a test, a standard or a pressure. “100%” and “will stop leaking” are both marketing, and the difference between them is a difference in confidence, not in evidence. The one claim that steps back, Liuruiyu’s “leak-resistant” in the bullet, is arguably the most honest, though its own title says otherwise. If you carry liquids every day, buy a set with clips and a gasket and check it with water at home before trusting it in a bag.
And nobody backs any of it in writing. Not one listing states a warranty. KOMUEE says its lids “will not easily break off”; MCIRCO says its lids “will not break or slowly stop working”. Those are claims, not cover. Lids, clips and seals are the parts that wear; ask the seller what happens when one fails before you rely on a set for years.
Best Alternatives
If none of the ten fits, these are the directions to look, with what each buys and gives up. For drying glass after hand-washing, our dish drying rack roundup covers racks that take tall containers; for loading them by machine in a small kitchen, see our countertop dishwasher guide.
| Alternative | Why Consider It | Better For | Main Trade-Off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plastic storage sets | Lighter, cheaper to replace, often with microwave-safe lids | Lunch bags, children, freezer stacks | No oven use; can stain and hold odours |
| Glass sets with glass or bamboo lids | Oven-safe or plastic-free lids exist on some ranges | Covered baking; avoiding plastic | Usually no airtight seal |
| Glass jars with clamp or screw lids | Upright storage for dry goods, soups and sauces | Pantries and liquids | Harder to reheat or eat from |
| Produce-specific containers | Vented designs for fruit and vegetables; see our produce saver guide | Salad leaves and berries | Not for cooked leftovers |
What the Step Up Buys
The listings sort into rough tiers by what they state, not by price. At the base, a set states a glass type or a heat claim but leaves capacities, lid limits or both unstated; the Liuruiyu is the clearest example. One step up, the listing names borosilicate, states every capacity and tells you to take the lid off before heating: the KOMUEE, Dealusy, MCIRCO, Snuvid and Vtopmart 5-pack. The Vtopmart 8-pack states everything here except the lid rule. Another step, and the lid itself gains a heated appliance: Rubbermaid and Amazon Basics both clear their lids for the microwave when unlatched, and Amazon Basics adds the highest glass rating and a thermal shock claim. Pyrex sits apart: a microwave-safe lid on tempered glass with no oven claim.
What no tier buys is an oven-safe lid or a stated warranty. Those two gaps run across all ten, from the bestseller to the lowest-ranked. If either matters, you will be asking the seller rather than reading the listing.

What to Check Before You Buy
The glass type, by name
Borosilicate is sold on resisting thermal shock; tempered glass is toughened against knocks and breaks into small pieces. Seven listings name borosilicate, Pyrex names tempered, and Rubbermaid and Liuruiyu name neither. If you plan to move glass from freezer to oven, or pour hot food into cold containers, choose a listing that names its glass and says it handles temperature changes, as Amazon Basics and Dealusy do, and still let frozen glass stand before it goes into a hot oven.
Containers, not pieces
Halve any count that includes lids. “8 total pieces” is four containers; “14 Pieces Including Lids” is seven. Then add up the sizes. The ten sets here range from about 83 to 300 fluid ounces of storage by our arithmetic, a more than threefold spread hidden behind similar-looking titles.
Every capacity, stated
Nine of ten listings state every size. One, the Liuruiyu, states none. Before you buy a mixed set, make sure you can see what the mix is: a 5-ounce sauce pot and a 35-ounce leftovers box do very different jobs, and the Vtopmart 8-pack is the model for a listing that tells you all eight.
The lid’s heat rules, separately
Find the sentence about the lid. Most listings put it in brackets after the glass claims. If it says remove before microwave and oven, plan to cover food with a plate or paper towel. If, like Rubbermaid and Amazon Basics, it allows the lid in the microwave unlatched, you can reheat covered. If it says nothing, assume the lid stays out of every heated appliance.
The lock and the seal
Clips on four sides and a removable silicone gasket are what most of these listings describe; a hinged flip lid is the Vtopmart 5-pack’s alternative. A press-fit lid with no seal, like the Pyrex, is for the fridge, not the bag. Removable seals are easier to clean, which matters because a gasket left in its groove is where residue collects.
Where it will live
Stackable is claimed by most and proven by none, so measure your fridge shelf and cupboard against the sizes you will use most. Nesting sets, like the Vtopmart 8-pack, take less room empty. If containers and lids share a cupboard with cleaning supplies or spices, our under sink organizer roundup and lazy Susan guide cover ways to keep lids from going missing.
Who stands behind it
No listing here states a warranty. Three are sold by Amazon.com, the other seven by brand storefronts. Lids and seals wear long before glass does, so ask whether replacement lids are sold separately; Rubbermaid’s universal Brilliance lids are the only ones described as fitting across a wider range.

Common Mistakes
- Reading the oven rating as the container’s rating. No lid here is cleared for the oven; 450°F, 752°F and 1076°F all describe uncovered glass.
- Comparing piece counts with pack counts. Rubbermaid’s 8 pieces are 4 containers and Amazon Basics’ 14 are 7, against KOMUEE’s 10.
- Assuming the bestseller holds the most. Rubbermaid ranks #9 with about 83 fl oz in all; KOMUEE ranks #114 with 300, by our arithmetic.
- Microwaving with the lid latched. The two listings that allow lids in the microwave, Rubbermaid and Amazon Basics, both say unlatched.
- Assuming all glass is borosilicate. Pyrex says tempered, and Rubbermaid and Liuruiyu name no glass type at all.
- Buying a mixed set blind. The Liuruiyu sells eight containers with no capacity stated; the Vtopmart 8-pack states all eight, 5 to 35.1 oz.
- Carrying soup in a press-fit lid. Pyrex makes no leak claim and describes no clip or seal; eight others describe silicone seals.
- Treating “will not break” as a guarantee. KOMUEE and MCIRCO make lid durability claims, and none of the ten states a warranty.

Frequently Asked Questions
What are the best glass food storage containers?
Of the ten sets compared here, the Rubbermaid Brilliance 4-container set is the best all-rounder for most households, because its lid does more than any other: it is vented, airtight by the listing’s claim and cleared for microwave reheating with the latches open. The glass bases are oven-safe to 450°F, and the set is sold by Amazon.com at #9 overall, far ahead of the rest of the page. Its weakness is size: four containers, about 83 fluid ounces in all by our arithmetic, and no named glass type. If you meal prep in bulk, the KOMUEE 10-pack gives ten borosilicate 30-ounce containers, 300 fluid ounces in total. If you want an assortment, the Amazon Basics set offers seven borosilicate containers in four sizes, the highest glass rating on the page at 1076°F, and a lid that may go in the microwave unlatched. None of the ten states a warranty.
Can glass food storage container lids go in the oven?
Not on any of the ten listings compared here. Five tell you to remove the lid before the oven, or say outright that it is not oven-safe: KOMUEE, Dealusy, MCIRCO, Amazon Basics and the Vtopmart 5-pack. Rubbermaid limits its oven claim to the glass bases. The Liuruiyu, the Vtopmart 8-pack and the Snuvid do not mention the lid in their oven claims, though the Snuvid says to remove it for the microwave, and Pyrex makes no oven claim for either part. So every oven figure on this page, whether 450°F, 752°F or 1076°F, describes an uncovered glass dish. If a recipe calls for a covered bake, use foil or a dedicated oven-safe cover. Most of these lids are plastic, often with a silicone seal, and the listings that name a material, KOMUEE, MCIRCO, Pyrex and Snuvid, all say plastic. Put the lid back on after the glass has cooled, before it goes into the fridge.
Is borosilicate glass better than tempered glass for food storage?
They are made to resist different things. Borosilicate glass expands very little when heated, which is why listings sell it on going from freezer or fridge to microwave or oven; seven of the ten sets here name it. Tempered glass, which Pyrex names, is ordinary glass toughened by heat treatment so it resists knocks and, if it does break, breaks into small pieces. For cold storage in the fridge, either works. For moving containers between extremes, a listing that names borosilicate and claims resistance to sudden temperature changes, as Amazon Basics does, gives you more to go on. Pyrex makes no oven claim at all in this listing, so treat it as a storage set and read the care leaflet before using it for anything hot. Two sets, Rubbermaid and Liuruiyu, name no glass type, so ask the seller if it matters to you.
What are the best glass meal prep containers?
For batch meal prep, the KOMUEE 10-pack is the strongest listing here: ten identical borosilicate containers at 30 ounces each, 300 fluid ounces in all by our arithmetic, with silicone-sealed snap-lock lids. Identical containers mean every lid fits every base and every box stacks. If you pack a main and a side separately, the Dealusy set pairs five 36-ounce and five 12-ounce borosilicate containers with four-sided locks and a 100% airtight claim, and the MCIRCO offers a similar five-and-five split at 34 and 13 ounces with thinner, lighter glass. For a single portion size, the Vtopmart 5-pack gives five 22-ounce boxes with hinged flip lids. On all four, the lids come off before the microwave or oven, so plan to cover food with a plate when you reheat at work. None states a warranty.
What are the best glass containers with lids for the microwave?
If you want to reheat with the lid on, only three listings here allow it. Rubbermaid Brilliance says its vented lids are microwave-safe for reheating only, with the lids unlatched. Amazon Basics says its lids can be used in the microwave if not sealed or latched to the containers. Pyrex says its plastic lid is microwave-safe, though its listing does not make the same claim for the glass. Every other set tells you to remove the lid first or says nothing. The reason for the unlatched condition is steam: a sealed lid traps pressure as food heats. So on any set, leave the clips open or the lid resting loose. Rubbermaid adds a vent to help, and is the only lid on the page described with one. If covered reheating is your main use, choose Rubbermaid or Amazon Basics.
Are glass food storage containers leak-proof?
Nine of the ten listings here claim some leak resistance, in very different words, and none describes a test. Rubbermaid, Dealusy and the Vtopmart 8-pack claim 100% airtight or leak-proof. The Vtopmart 5-pack claims zero leaking or spilling, and the Snuvid says its lid prevents leaks even with soups. Amazon Basics says leak-proof. KOMUEE and MCIRCO say their lids will stop leaking. The Liuruiyu says leak proof in its title and leak-resistant in its bullet. Pyrex makes no leak claim and describes only a lid that fits snug, with no clips or seal. Eight of the ten describe a silicone seal, which is what makes a clip-down lid hold liquid. If you carry soup or sauces daily, choose a set with clips and a gasket, and fill it with water and tip it over the sink at home before trusting it in a bag.
How many containers are really in a glass storage set?
Check whether the count includes lids. Two listings here count lids as pieces: the Rubbermaid set is sold as 8 total pieces and contains four containers, and the Amazon Basics set is sold as 14 pieces including lids and contains seven. The other eight count containers, so a 10-pack has ten glass bases and ten lids. Pyrex calls its set a 12-pack and lists twelve containers, each with a lid, while its item-count field says 1. Once you have the real container count, add up the stated sizes. Across these ten sets, total storage runs from about 83 fluid ounces on the Rubbermaid to 300 on the KOMUEE, by our arithmetic, converting cups at 8 fluid ounces. One set, the Liuruiyu, states no capacities, so its total cannot be worked out from the listing.
Do glass food storage containers come with a warranty?
None of the ten listings compared here states one, including the three sold by Amazon.com and the big names, Rubbermaid and Pyrex. Two make durability promises in their bullets instead: KOMUEE says its lids will not easily break off, and MCIRCO says its lids will not break or slowly stop working. Those are claims about the product, not cover if it fails. In practice, the glass in a set like these tends to outlast the lids, clips and silicone seals, which are the parts that flex every day. Before you buy, ask the seller whether replacement lids or seals are sold separately and what happens if one fails early. Rubbermaid is the only listing that describes its lids as universal across a wider range, which may make replacements easier to find.
Final Verdict
The only vented lid here, cleared for microwave reheating unlatched, on 450°F glass bases, sold by Amazon.com at #9 overall.
Ten identical borosilicate 30 oz containers, 300 fl oz in all by our arithmetic, with silicone-sealed snap lids.
Borosilicate in four sizes and two shapes, 1076°F glass and a lid cleared for the microwave unlatched.
Ten glass storage sets sell the glass, and the lid sets the rules. The glass ratings run from 450°F to 1076°F, seven listings name borosilicate, and every set with an oven claim covers anything a home oven can do. But not one lid on the page is cleared for the oven, and only three are cleared for the microwave, each with a condition. What you can actually do with a covered container is decided by plastic, not glass.
The counts need translating. Two sets count lids as pieces, so 8 and 14 become 4 and 7. Total storage runs from about 83 to 300 fluid ounces by our arithmetic, and the best-selling set holds the least. One listing states no capacities at all.
The two Vtopmart sets are two models, not one. Their model fields read 5Pack 650ml and 8Pack Standard, with different part numbers, and their lids differ: a hinged flip lid on the 5-pack, four-hinge snap locks on the 8-pack. They share a seller, a temperature band and the borosilicate claim, and no listing says their lids interchange. No two sets on the page share a model number.
No one backs any of it in writing. Not one of the ten states a warranty, and lids and seals are the parts that wear.
If you buy one set from this page, make it the Rubbermaid Brilliance: the only lid with a vent and a microwave clearance, glass bases rated to 450°F, a 100% airtight claim and the strongest rank on the page, sold by Amazon.com. If you need volume, the KOMUEE 10-pack carries more than three and a half times the glass; if you want an assortment with the clearest rules for both halves, buy the Amazon Basics set.
