Food storage containers are sold by the piece. Read the ten listings on this page to the end of their bullets and the number turns out to mean less than it looks. Seven of the ten count every lid as a piece. The 40-piece JSCARES is 20 containers; the 100-piece Dealusy pack is 50. Halve the headline and you have what you can actually put food into.
Then add up what the containers hold, which is our arithmetic, not the sellers’. Glad sells three square tubs at 104 ounces each: 312 fluid ounces. The 40-piece JSCARES lists 20 containers whose sizes add to 311.3 ounces. Three tubs hold slightly more than its twenty containers. Small containers have their uses, but the piece count alone tells you almost nothing.
So this guide sorts the ten by Best Sellers Rank and, beside each, sets out what the piece count hides: how many containers there are, what they hold in total, the seal claims, and what each says about microwave, freezer and dishwasher. Star ratings and review counts were not captured for this roundup; popularity below is Amazon’s Best Sellers Rank only.

Best Sellers Ranks and specifications are taken from each manufacturer’s Amazon listing as displayed on 5 October 2026 through a United States connection, and may change. Total volume is our arithmetic, adding the size of every container each listing names. Cups are converted at 8 US fluid ounces to the cup, and PRAKI’s litres and quarts are added as the listing states them (6 each of 2.8, 2.0, 1.4 and 0.8 litres). GoodCook gives no capacity in words, only that the compartment is “embossed with 4 cup volume measurements”, so its total is Not stated. Glad lists three containers but not its lids as pieces; GoodCook lists 10 containers and 10 lids without a piece total; PRAKI’s 24 are all containers, and the listing does not say whether each has its own lid. GoodCook’s sub-rank is filed in Containers (#3), not Container Sets. Weights are not compared because two Rubbermaid weight fields give 0.000625 pounds, a figure that cannot describe a set.

How We Chose These Ten
We researched current listings, compared manufacturer specifications and documentation, and set the listings’ own claims side by side. We did not carry out hands-on testing, and nothing below is presented as measured performance data. Star ratings and review counts were not captured for this roundup; the only popularity measure used is Amazon’s Best Sellers Rank, taken at the same time as the rest of the data.
- Containers, not pieces — we read each listing’s bullets for the number of containers and lids, and report the container count beside the piece count in the title.
- Total volume — where a listing gives a size for every container, we added them up. That total is our arithmetic and is labelled as such everywhere it appears.
- Material — we recorded the plastic the listing names, if any, and its BPA statement. We did not assume a resin the listing does not name.
- Seal claims — airtight, leak-proof, hedged or absent, in the listing’s words, and whether a silicone seal or latches are described.
- Storage shape — whether the listing says the containers stack when full, nest when empty, or keep lids together.
- Microwave, freezer and dishwasher — what each listing permits and, more usefully, what it forbids, especially for lids.
- Intent and warranty — whether the containers are described as reusable or disposable, and whether any guarantee or warranty is stated.
- Stock and seller — every set was in stock when captured; we note who sells it, since five of the ten are sold by Amazon.com and the rest by third parties.
Model numbers were compared across listings. None of the ten shares a model number with another, but two pairs are closely related, and we flag them in the product sections: the two Rubbermaid sets released on the same day with near-identical box sizes, and the two JSCARES sets from the same seller with identical dimension fields.

The Ten Container Sets in Detail
1. Rubbermaid Brilliance Tritan 5 x 3.2-Cup Set — Best for Meal Prep

The best-selling set on the page is the smallest: five containers, one size, counted as ten pieces.
Key Specifications
| Pieces claimed | 10 (five containers, five lids) |
|---|---|
| Containers | 5 x 3.2 cup |
| Total volume | 16 cups / 128 oz (our arithmetic) |
| Material | Tritan, BPA-free |
| Seal claim | “100% Leak-proof”; “Airtight Lids” in title |
| Microwave | Yes, built-in vents, lid stays on |
| Freezer / dishwasher | Freezer and dishwasher safe stated |
| Stacking | Stackable stated |
| Warranty | Not stated (“Guaranteed no-spill seal”) |
| Model | 2053295 (part number 2041405) |
| Best Sellers Rank | #5 overall; #1 in Container Sets |
| Best For | Weekly meal prep in matching portions |
Why We Recommend It
This is the most popular set on the page by a wide margin. Its Best Sellers Rank was #5 overall when captured, and #1 in Container Sets. The next best rank among the ten is #77. It is also sold by Amazon.com. Whatever else the listing says, a great many people are buying exactly this box.
The box is five containers. The listing’s own last bullet is the clearest piece-count disclosure on the page: “Includes five 3.2-cup containers and matching lids, totaling 10 pieces”. The title says “Set of 5”, and the size field says “3.2 cup (10-Piece)”. All three agree once you know that lids count. By our arithmetic, five 3.2-cup containers hold 16 cups between them, or 128 fluid ounces. That is less than half of one Glad 104-ounce tub set, and less than a third of what the 52-piece JSCARES holds.
For meal prep, one size is a feature. Five identical containers mean five identical portions, five identical lids and no hunting for the lid that fits. A 3.2-cup container is a lunch-sized box. The listing pitches it for “Lunch Meal Prep & Leftovers”, and that is what one size serves well. It is not a set for storing a whole batch of soup or a roast.
The material is named, which is rarer than it should be. Rubbermaid calls it “Crystal-clear Tritan”, and says it is “Stain-resistant and odor-resistant”. Only this set and its 14-piece sibling name a plastic at all. The seal is described as “100% Leak-proof: Guaranteed no-spill seal and secure latches”, and the title adds “Airtight Lids”. The word “Guaranteed” is there, but the listing gives no terms, period or claim process, so we treat the warranty as Not stated.
Its microwave instructions are the most convenient of the ten. “Built-in Vents: Convenient microwave heating without removing the lid”. Three of the other sets tell you to take the lid off first, and one says to lift a corner. The listing also says dishwasher, microwave and freezer safe without qualification, though its 14-piece sibling limits the microwave to reheating and the dishwasher to the top rack; the two are the same Brilliance line, so we would follow the stricter wording.
One spec field cannot be right, and two numbers disagree. The weight field gives 0.000625 pounds, which cannot describe five containers, so we do not use it. The listing gives a model of 2053295 and a part number of 2041405; the other two Rubbermaids give the same number in both fields. Neither matches any other set on the page.
Pros
- Best Sellers Rank #5 overall and #1 in Container Sets
- Tritan named; stain- and odour-resistance claimed
- Lids stay on in the microwave via built-in vents
- “100% Leak-proof” and airtight claims
- Clear piece-count disclosure: five containers, five lids
- Sold by Amazon.com
Cons
- Only 16 cups in total by our arithmetic
- One size; nothing for sauces or big batches
- Weight field (0.000625 lb) is not usable
- Model and part numbers differ
- No warranty terms behind “Guaranteed”
Best for: Anyone portioning five identical lunches a week who wants a named plastic and lids that stay on to reheat.
2. Rubbermaid Brilliance 14-Piece Set — Best Overall

Seven Tritan containers in four sizes, with the most careful use limits of any listing here.
Key Specifications
| Pieces claimed | 14 (seven containers plus lids) |
|---|---|
| Containers | 2 x 0.5, 2 x 1.3, 2 x 3.2, 1 x 9.6 cup |
| Total volume | 19.6 cups / 156.8 oz (our arithmetic) |
| Material | Tritan, BPA-free |
| Seal claim | “100% leak-proof, airtight seal” |
| Microwave | “microwave-safe for reheat only”; vents under latches |
| Freezer / dishwasher | Freezer safe; top-rack dishwasher |
| Stacking | “Modular design” stacks |
| Warranty | Not stated |
| Model | 2108377 |
| Best Sellers Rank | #77 overall; #3 in Container Sets |
| Best For | A first set covering snacks to leftovers |
Why We Recommend It
This is the set we would start a kitchen with. It has the same named plastic and seal claims as the five-pack, plus a spread of sizes that covers most of what a household stores: two 0.5-cup containers for dressings and dips, two 1.3-cup for snacks, two 3.2-cup for lunches and one 9.6-cup for leftovers or a salad. It ranked #77 overall and #3 in Container Sets when captured, and it is sold by Amazon.com.
Fourteen pieces is seven containers. The listing spells it out: “two 0.5-cup, two 1.3-cup, two 3.2-cup, and one 9.6-cup containers, plus lids, for a total of 14 pieces”. By our arithmetic those seven hold 19.6 cups, or 156.8 fluid ounces. That is the lowest total volume per claimed piece on the page, about 11.2 ounces per piece, against 104 for the Glad tubs. Small containers drag the average down; that is what they are for.
Its use limits are the most precise of the ten, and the most honest. “All containers are BPA-free, microwave-safe for reheat only, top-rack dishwasher- and freezer-safe”. Reheat only means no cooking from raw. Top rack means away from the heating element. Most other listings here simply say dishwasher safe. This one tells you where. The vents sit “underneath the latches”, so you lift the latches and leave the lid on, the same convenience as the five-pack.
The seal and the material carry the same claims as its sibling. “Secure latches that guarantee a 100% leak-proof, airtight seal”; “BPA-free Tritan plastic” with “glass-like clarity without the added weight and risk of shatter”. If you want the real thing, our glass food storage container roundup covers containers that are glass rather than glass-like. The listing also says the containers stack “perfectly together” thanks to a modular design. Nesting when empty is not stated.
It is a close relative of the 16-piece Rubbermaid, not a copy. Both were released on 27 September 2019, and their box dimensions are near-identical: 12.38 by 8.13 inches here, 12.37 by 8.13 on the 16-piece. Their model numbers are different, 2108377 here and 2108392 there, and so is almost everything else: this set is Tritan with latching seals and four sizes; the 16-piece has red vented lids, two sizes and no seal claim at all. Same family, same launch, different product.
The listing’s first word is misspelt, “ubbermaid Brilliance”, which tells you nothing about the containers but suggests nobody has proof-read the bullets recently. The weight field, 3.13 pounds, is plausible for seven containers and lids in a box.
Pros
- Four sizes from 0.5 to 9.6 cups
- Tritan named; BPA-free
- “100% leak-proof, airtight seal” claimed
- Vents let lids stay on to reheat
- Precise limits: reheat only, top rack
- Sold by Amazon.com
Cons
- Only 19.6 cups total by our arithmetic
- One 9.6-cup container for big batches
- Microwave limited to reheating
- Nesting when empty not stated
- Warranty not stated
Best for: A household buying its first proper set and wanting one named plastic across snack, lunch and leftover sizes.
3. Rubbermaid Easy Find Lids 16-Piece Set — Most Volume from Rubbermaid

Eight containers, 32 cups between them, and the only Rubbermaid here that makes no seal claim.
Key Specifications
| Pieces claimed | 16 (eight containers, eight lids) |
|---|---|
| Containers | 4 x 3 cup, 4 x 5 cup |
| Total volume | 32 cups / 256 oz (our arithmetic) |
| Material | BPA-free plastic; type not stated |
| Seal claim | None stated |
| Microwave | Base microwave safe; built-in vents |
| Freezer / dishwasher | Freezer and dishwasher safe base |
| Stacking | Lids snap to base and to same-size lids |
| Warranty | Not stated |
| Model | 2108392 |
| Seller | HOME DEALS |
| Best Sellers Rank | #105 overall; #138 in Container Sets |
Why We Recommend It
This is a different Rubbermaid from the Brilliance sets above it. It does not say Brilliance, and it does not say Tritan. The material is “BPA-free, non-toxic plastic”, with the resin unnamed. The lids are red and vented, the selling point being “Easy Find Vented Lids” that “Snap onto the container base and same-sized lids”, so lids click together in a stack instead of sliding around a drawer.
Sixteen pieces is eight containers, and they hold the most of any Rubbermaid here. “Includes four 3-cup containers and four 5-cup containers with lids”. By our arithmetic that is 32 cups, or 256 fluid ounces: twice the five-pack’s volume and about 1.6 times the 14-piece’s. Two mid-sized shapes is a sensible split for leftovers, and the 5-cup size is the nearest thing in the Rubbermaid range to a batch container.
It is the only Rubbermaid set without a seal claim. The listing never says leak-proof or airtight. It says “Thick container walls withstand daily use and varying temperatures” and that the set is great for “meal prep, leftovers, and cabinet storage”. If soup in a bag is the job, the Brilliance sets or the silicone-sealed sets make a claim in writing and this one does not. Silence is not proof of leaks, but it is the absence of a promise.
The safety claims are worded about the base. “Freezer-, microwave-, dishwasher-safe base”. The lids get vents to “Reduce unwanted splatters”, which implies they go in the microwave with the container, but the listing does not say the lids are microwave or dishwasher safe in so many words. We would read that as base yes, lids unconfirmed.
It shares a launch date with the 14-piece Brilliance, not a model number. Both list a release date of 27 September 2019 and near-identical box sizes, and the model numbers are close, 2108392 here and 2108377 there, but the products differ in lid, material, sizes and seal. This listing is also the only Rubbermaid sold by a third party, HOME DEALS, rather than Amazon.com, and its Container Sets rank, #138, is far below its overall rank of #105. Like the five-pack, its weight field gives 0.000625 pounds, which we ignore.
Pros
- 32 cups across eight containers, the most of the Rubbermaids
- Lids snap to each other and to bases
- Built-in vents in the lids
- Freezer, microwave and dishwasher safe base
- Two useful mid-sized shapes
Cons
- No leak-proof or airtight claim
- Plastic type not named
- Lid safety not stated separately
- Sold by a third party, HOME DEALS
- Weight field (0.000625 lb) is not usable
Best for: Leftover storage where lids that click together matter more than a written seal claim.
4. Glad GladWare XL Square 104 oz, 3 Count — Best for Big Batches

Three tubs holding 312 ounces between them, a fraction more than the 40-piece JSCARES.
Key Specifications
| Pieces claimed | 3 count (containers) |
|---|---|
| Containers | 3 x 104 oz |
| Total volume | 312 oz (our arithmetic) |
| Material | BPA-free plastic; type not stated |
| Seal claim | Lock tight lid “helps prevent leaks” |
| Microwave | Yes; lift one corner of the lid to vent |
| Freezer / dishwasher | Freezer use mentioned; top-rack dishwasher |
| Stacking | Interlocking lids stack together |
| Reusable or disposable | Not stated |
| Warranty | Not stated |
| Model | BB35097 |
| Best Sellers Rank | #106 overall; #4 in Container Sets |
Why We Recommend It
This is the set that breaks the piece count. Three containers. No lids counted, no sauce cups, no labels. Each holds “up to 104 oz”. By our arithmetic that is 312 fluid ounces, or 39 cups. The 40-piece JSCARES’s 20 containers add to 311.3. On volume alone, three tubs edge out a 40-piece set.
The size is for whole dishes, not portions. The listing pitches each tub for “full casserole dishes, large pasta batches, soups, salads, and entire meal-prep portions for a family of four in a single container”. The box measures 9.69 inches square by 5.13 high. Check that against your fridge shelf height before you buy three, and remember that one 104-ounce tub of leftovers is a tub you cannot use for anything else until it is eaten.
The seal claim is hedged, and the hedge is worth reading. “The lid snaps firmly onto the container using a multi-point locking mechanism that helps prevent leaks and spills during refrigerator storage, transport to potlucks, and freezer use.” “Helps prevent” is not leak-proof, and the listing does not say airtight. It does mention freezer use in passing, which is the nearest it comes to a freezer-safe statement. For a tub that holds soup, that wording matters more than on a snack box.
The microwave and dishwasher wording is specific. “Lift one corner of the lid to vent before microwaving large food portions”, and “TOP-RACK DISHWASHER SAFE”. Whether a container this size fits your top rack is a separate question; our countertop dishwasher roundup gives the rack heights of compact machines if yours is small.
The lids are designed to be found. “Lids from the same container size lock together in a stacked set”, so three lids live as one unit. With only three, lid hunting was never going to be the problem it is with a 20-lid set, but the feature is there.
Two details on the listing are worth knowing. It does not say whether GladWare is meant to be reusable or disposable; it says BPA-free and safe for “food storage and reheating” and stops there. And the manufacturer field names “Pets + People Consumer Products” rather than Glad. It is sold by Amazon.com, and it ranked #106 overall and #4 in Container Sets.
Pros
- 312 oz in three containers by our arithmetic
- Sized for whole casseroles and soup batches
- Interlocking lids keep lids together
- Microwave and top-rack dishwasher instructions given
- Sold by Amazon.com
Cons
- Seal only “helps prevent leaks”; not airtight
- One size; no portions
- Reusable or disposable intent not stated
- Plastic type not named
- Large footprint, 9.69 in square
Best for: Families cooking big batches who want a few large tubs rather than a drawer of small ones.
5. GoodCook Meal Prep Containers, 10-Pack — Strongest Guarantee

Ten black meal prep boxes with domed lids, and the only unconditional guarantee on the page.
Key Specifications
| Pieces claimed | 10-pack (10 containers + 10 lids) |
|---|---|
| Containers | 10, single compartment |
| Capacity | Not stated; “embossed with 4 cup volume measurements” |
| Material | Plastic, made without BPA; type not stated |
| Seal claim | None; lids “Help keep food fresh” |
| Microwave / freezer / dishwasher | All stated safe |
| Stacking | Stackable stated |
| Reusable or disposable | Reusable |
| Warranty | “Guaranteed Unconditionally” |
| Model | 10783 (Bradshaw International) |
| Size field | “1 Count (Pack of 1)” |
| Best Sellers Rank | #357 overall; #3 in Containers |
Why We Recommend It
This is the only set on the page with an unconditional guarantee. “Made without BPA and Guaranteed Unconditionally plastic construction”. The listing gives no terms, but unconditional is a stronger promise than anything the other nine make. Snapware offers a “limited warranty”; Rubbermaid’s five-pack guarantees a seal; the rest say nothing.
The count is honest. The title says “10-Pack” and the first bullet says “10 pre-portioned containers and 10 lids”. It does not add them together into a 20-piece headline, which on this page makes it unusual. The size field disagrees, “1 Count (Pack of 1)”, which we read as one pack of ten.
The capacity is the gap. The compartment is “embossed with 4 cup volume measurements to make portion control a breeze”. That could mean four measurement marks or marks up to four cups; the listing does not give a capacity in words, so we list it as Not stated and cannot total the set. The box is 8.75 by 6.12 by 4.93 inches, which is the package, not a container.
It makes no seal claim. The domed lids “Help keep food fresh” and their shape “does not compress food during storage”, which matters for salads and stacked portions. Leak-proof and airtight are never said. These are meal prep boxes for a fridge shelf and a lunch bag held level, not for soup in a backpack.
The use claims are broad and unqualified. “Durable, Dishwasher, Freezer and Microwave Safe so you can store, reheat, and serve all-in-one, and they are stackable”. No top-rack note, no lid-off rule. The intent is stated too: “REUSABLE MEAL PREP CONTAINER SET”, which separates it from the 50-pack below that calls itself both reusable and disposable.
Its rank is filed differently. GoodCook sits at #357 overall and #3 in Containers rather than in Container Sets with most of the others, so the numbers are not directly comparable. It is sold by Amazon.com, and the maker is Bradshaw International, model 10783.
Pros
- “Guaranteed Unconditionally”, the strongest promise here
- Honest count: 10 containers, 10 lids
- Domed lids do not crush food
- Microwave, freezer and dishwasher safe stated
- Explicitly reusable
- Sold by Amazon.com
Cons
- No capacity stated in words
- No leak-proof or airtight claim
- Size field says “1 Count”
- Plastic type not named
- One compartment, one size
Best for: Meal preppers who want a guarantee behind a simple, reusable portion box and will keep it level.
6. Dealusy 50-Pack 32 oz Meal Prep Containers — Most Containers

Fifty 32-ounce boxes, 1,600 ounces between them, described as both reusable and disposable.
Key Specifications
| Pieces claimed | 100 (50 containers, 50 lids) |
|---|---|
| Containers | 50 x 32 oz |
| Total volume | 1,600 oz (our arithmetic) |
| Material | BPA-free food grade plastic; type not stated |
| Seal claim | “Leakproof”; “tight sealed lids” |
| Temperature range | -4°F to 248°F stated |
| Microwave / freezer | Both stated safe |
| Dishwasher | Hand wash or top rack |
| Stacking | Stackable stated |
| Reusable or disposable | Both words used |
| Warranty | Not stated |
| Best Sellers Rank | #452 overall; #2 in Bento Boxes |
Why We Recommend It
This is the biggest box on the page by every count. “50 pack (100-Piece) 32 oz meal prep containers with easy open lids”. Fifty containers, fifty lids. By our arithmetic the fifty hold 1,600 fluid ounces, or 200 cups: more than five times the Glad tubs and nearly four times the 52-piece JSCARES. The weight field gives 5.29 pounds for the lot.
The listing cannot decide what it is. The first bullet is headed “Sturdy & Reusable” and says the containers “can also be easily cleaned for reuse”. Two later bullets call them “BPA-free disposable food containers”. It also says they ensure “no cracks for your take out meals”. The honest reading is a takeaway-style container sturdy enough to wash and reuse several times, not a set built to last years like the latched sets above. Buy fifty if you hand meals out, freeze portions you may not get back, or want boxes you will not mind throwing away.
It is the only listing with a temperature range. “Can withstand a temperature from -4℉to 248℉”. That is about -20°C to 120°C by our conversion. Nobody else gives a number, so this is the only listing whose microwave and freezer claim comes with limits you can check. Note that a microwave can heat fatty food well past 248°F in spots; stir and reheat in short bursts.
Dishwasher use is hedged to the top rack. “Easily cleaned for reuse with hand wash or on the top rack of the dishwasher”. With fifty boxes in rotation, that is a lot of top-rack space to give up on every wash.
The seal claim is short. “Leakproof & Stackable”, with “tight sealed lids” and an easy-open lid. No latches, no silicone and no airtight claim are described. The containers are black, single-size and, at 2.3 inches high on the dimension fields, shallow. Compartments are not mentioned, so we take them as single-compartment.
Amazon files it in Bento Boxes, where it ranked #2, rather than Container Sets; its overall rank was #452. It is sold by Dealusy, model BTB32. No warranty is stated.
Pros
- 50 containers, 1,600 oz by our arithmetic
- The only stated temperature range: -4°F to 248°F
- Microwave and freezer safe stated
- Leakproof and stackable claimed
- One size simplifies portions
Cons
- Called both “Reusable” and “disposable”
- Hand wash or top rack only
- No latches, silicone or airtight claim
- Plastic type not named
- Warranty not stated
Best for: Batch cooks who give meals away or freeze many portions and want containers they will not miss.
7. JSCARES 40-Piece Airtight Set — Best Labelled Set

Twenty containers, silicone rings and a size range the listing itself gets wrong.
Key Specifications
| Pieces claimed | 40 (20 containers, 20 lids) |
|---|---|
| Containers | 6 rectangle, 8 round, 6 sauce cups |
| Sizes | 1 oz to 50.7 oz (listing says “8 OZ to 51 OZ”) |
| Total volume | 311.3 oz (our arithmetic) |
| Material | BPA-free food-grade plastic; type not stated |
| Seal claim | “Superior Airtight Seal & 100% Leak Proof”; silicone rings |
| Microwave | Without the lid |
| Freezer / dishwasher | Both stated safe |
| Stacking | Stackable and nestable; non-slip bottoms |
| Extras | Labels and pen (title) |
| Model | JSC-20 CONTAINER SET |
| Best Sellers Rank | #1,029 overall; #39 in Container Sets |
Why We Recommend It
Forty pieces is 20 containers. The title says “40 PCS … (20 Lids &20 Containers)”, and the first bullet lists them: six rectangles (50.7, 33.8, two at 16.9 and two at 8.1 ounces), eight rounds (two each at 40.6, 23.7, 13.5 and 6.1) and six sauce cups (three at 2 ounces, three at 1). By our arithmetic the 20 add to 311.3 fluid ounces, a whisker under the three Glad tubs’ 312.
The listing’s own size range is wrong. The same bullet ends “From 8 OZ to 51 OZ, we have you covered”. The list above it includes two 6.1-ounce rounds and six sauce cups of 1 and 2 ounces. The real range is 1 to 50.7 ounces. It is a small error, but on a page where the piece count is the sales pitch, it is worth knowing the bullets were not checked against each other.
The seal is described in detail. “Superior Airtight Seal & 100% Leak Proof: With the airtight seal enhanced by food-grade silicone rings … even liquid foods like soups remain securely contained”. There are “4 enhanced rounded lock mechanisms” per lid and “durable non-slip bottoms”. The containers are stackable full and nestable empty, which matters with 20 of them.
The lids stay out of the microwave. “Microwave(without the lid), dishwasher, and freezer safe”. Unlike PRAKI, this listing does not ban the lids from the dishwasher. A silicone ring is still the part most likely to suffer from heat, so we would wash lids on the top rack at most.
It is a sibling of the 52-piece JSCARES, not the same model. Both are sold by JSCORE, and both give identical dimension fields: 9.7 by 7.0 by 9.0 inches. Their model fields differ, JSC-20 CONTAINER SET here and JSC-26 CONTAINER SET on the larger set, and their contents differ. The shared dimensions are most likely a copied field rather than a real measurement of two different-sized boxes.
The title promises labels and a pen; the bullets do not say how many. It ranked #1,029 overall and #39 in Container Sets. The weight field gives 0.66 pounds, against 4.78 pounds for the 52-piece sibling, a gap too wide to be explained by six more containers, so we do not rely on either. No warranty is stated.
Pros
- 20 containers from 1 to 50.7 oz
- Silicone rings and four locks; airtight and leak-proof claimed
- Stackable, nestable, non-slip bottoms
- Dishwasher safe without a lid ban
- Labels and pen included
Cons
- Lids must come off to microwave
- Listing’s “8 OZ to 51 OZ” is wrong
- Plastic type not named
- Weight field not credible against its sibling
- Warranty not stated
Best for: Households wanting 20 sealed containers in rectangles and rounds, with labels for the freezer.
8. PRAKI 24-Piece Airtight Pantry Set — Best for Dry Goods

Twenty-four pantry canisters, 42 litres by our arithmetic, and the only count here that is all containers.
Key Specifications
| Pieces claimed | 24 PCS (containers) |
|---|---|
| Containers | 6 each: 2.8 L, 2.0 L, 1.4 L, 0.8 L |
| Total volume | 42 L / 37.8 qt (our arithmetic) |
| Material | “premium plastic”; BPA-free in title |
| Seal claim | Silicone strip, four locking lids; “water and air cannot enter” |
| Microwave / freezer | Not stated |
| Dishwasher | Containers yes; lids no |
| Stacking | Stack; nest (“inlaid together”) |
| Extras | 40 labels and 1 marker |
| Warranty | Not stated |
| Model | PRA002BK MX |
| Best Sellers Rank | #2,278 overall; #92 in Container Sets |
Why We Recommend It
This is a pantry set, not a leftovers set, and it holds the most of anything except the 50-pack. “6 Large Tall Containers (2.5 quart /2.8 liters), 6 Large Containers (1.8 quart /2.0 liters), 6 Medium Containers (1.3 quart /1.4 liters), 6 Small Containers (0.7 quart /0.8 liters)”. By our arithmetic that is 42 litres, or 37.8 quarts, about 1,420 US fluid ounces. The listing pitches it for “flour, sugar, spaghetti, rice, nuts, cereal, snacks, pasta”.
Its 24 pieces are all containers. That makes it one of only three honest counts on the page. Each container gets a locking lid, but the listing never says whether lids are included in the 24 or separate; the size list accounts for 24 containers, so on the convention seven other listings use, this would be a 48-piece set. It is the reverse of the usual problem, and worth knowing when you compare.
The seal is aimed at dryness rather than spills. “Equipped with a silicone sealing strip and four locking lids to ensure that water and air cannot enter it … and make the food very dry”. That is an airtight claim in substance, and the title says airtight. It does not claim leak-proof for liquids, which fits the use. For loose spices in the same cupboard, our spice rack roundup covers racks built for jars, and a lazy Susan guide can make deep pantry corners reachable.
The limits are about the lids. “They can be cleaned in the dishwasher (but not the lids)”. Microwave and freezer use are not stated at all, which is reasonable for flour bins but means you should not assume either. The plastic is “premium plastic”, with no type named; BPA-free appears only in the title.
It nests for delivery and storage. “They are inlaid together, so at first glance you may think there is only the same size, but when you take it apart, you will find FOUR different sizes”. Full, they are “designed to be superimposed”, which we read as stackable. The set comes with 40 labels and a marker, the most labels on the page.
Two fields are odd. The part number field just says “PRAKI”; the model is PRA002BK MX. It ranked #2,278 overall and #92 in Container Sets, and it is sold by PRAKI US. No warranty is stated.
Pros
- 42 litres across 24 canisters by our arithmetic
- Silicone strip and four locks keep air and water out
- Four tall pantry sizes up to 2.8 L
- Nests when empty, stacks when full
- 40 labels and a marker
Cons
- Lids not dishwasher safe
- Microwave and freezer use not stated
- Not a leftovers or liquids set
- Plastic type not named
- Lids not stated as part of the 24
Best for: Anyone decanting flour, rice, pasta and cereal into matching airtight pantry canisters.
9. JSCARES 52-Piece Airtight Set — Best Large Set

Twenty-six containers and 406.4 ounces, the most volume of any multi-size set here.
Key Specifications
| Pieces claimed | 52 (26 containers, 26 lids) |
|---|---|
| Containers | 10 rectangle, 10 round, 6 sauce cups |
| Sizes | 1 oz to 50.7 oz |
| Total volume | 406.4 oz (our arithmetic) |
| Material | BPA-free food-grade plastic; type not stated |
| Seal claim | Silicone seal, 4 locking clips; leak-proof and airtight |
| Microwave | Without lids |
| Freezer / dishwasher | Both stated safe |
| Stacking | Stackable and nestable |
| Item count field | 17 (conflicts with 26) |
| Model | JSC-26 CONTAINER SET |
| Best Sellers Rank | #3,028 overall; #135 in Container Sets |
Why We Recommend It
This is the largest multi-size set on the page, and the most complete. “Includes 10 rectangle containers (2X 50.7OZ, 2X 33.8OZ, 2X 16.9OZ, 2X 8.1OZ, 2X 4.1OZ), 10 round containers (2X 40.6OZ, 2X 23.7OZ, 2X 13.5OZ, 2X 6.1OZ, 2X 2.7OZ), and 6 sauce cups (6X1OZ)”. Twenty-six containers. By our arithmetic they hold 406.4 fluid ounces, about 30% more than the 40-piece JSCARES and well ahead of three Glad tubs, while still offering pairs of every size.
Pairs are the point. Where the 40-piece JSCARES has one of each rectangle size, this set has two, plus two 4.1-ounce rectangles and two 2.7-ounce rounds the smaller set lacks. Two of each size means two matching lunches, two matching sauce pots, or one in the fridge and one in the dishwasher. That is why it gets our Best Large Set award despite one of the weakest ranks on the page.
The seal claim is the strongest wording of the JSCARES pair. “Our food containers feature a high-quality silicone seal and 4 reinforced locking clips, making them completely leak-proof and airtight. Perfect for storing liquid foods like soups or sauces”. The containers are “stackable” and the design is “nestable”, and the listing claims they are “much lighter than glass”.
The lid rule is the same as its sibling’s. “Microwave (without lids), freezer, and dishwasher safe”. Twenty-six lids that cannot go in the microwave means transferring food or covering with a plate; the Rubbermaid Brilliance lids, by contrast, stay on.
Its item count field contradicts its title. The listing says 26 containers and 26 lids; the number-of-items field says 17. Nothing else on the listing supports 17, so we go with the bullets. The dimension fields, 9.7 by 7.0 by 9.0 inches, are identical to the 40-piece JSCARES’s, which is unlikely for a box with six more containers. Model JSC-26 CONTAINER SET differs from the smaller set’s JSC-20, so the two are siblings, not the same model. Labels and a pen are not mentioned on this listing, unlike the 40-piece.
It ranked #3,028 overall and #135 in Container Sets, second lowest on the page, and it is sold by JSCORE. The weight field gives 4.78 pounds, plausible for 52 pieces. No warranty is stated.
Pros
- 26 containers, 406.4 oz by our arithmetic
- Pairs of every size from 1 to 50.7 oz
- Silicone seal and four clips; leak-proof and airtight claimed
- Stackable and nestable
- Freezer and dishwasher safe
Cons
- Lids must come off to microwave
- Item count field says 17, not 26
- Second-lowest rank on the page
- Labels not mentioned
- Plastic type not named; warranty not stated
Best for: Households replacing a mismatched drawer with one sealed system in pairs of every size.
10. Snapware Total Solution 5-Pack, 3-Cup — Best Lid Permissions

Five 3-cup boxes whose lids are cleared for microwave, freezer and top-rack dishwasher, with a limited warranty and a made-in-USA claim.
Key Specifications
| Pieces claimed | 5-pack in title; “10 PC Set” in size field |
|---|---|
| Containers | 5 x 3 cup, rectangular |
| Total volume | 15 cups / 120 oz (our arithmetic) |
| Material | BPA-free plastic; type not stated |
| Seal claim | Airtight, leak-proof lids with 4 locking tabs |
| Microwave / freezer / dishwasher | Lids stated microwave, freezer and top-rack dishwasher safe |
| Stacking | Not stated |
| Extras | Write + Erase label on lids |
| Warranty | “limited warranty” |
| Origin | “Made in USA” |
| Model | 1136622 |
| Best Sellers Rank | #3,170 overall; #145 in Container Sets |
Why We Recommend It
This is the five-pack format again, from a different maker. “Set includes (5) 3-cup rectangular plastic containers with lids”. The title says “5-Pack”; the size field says “10 PC Set”, so lids are counted as pieces here too, just not in the headline. By our arithmetic five 3-cup containers hold 15 cups, or 120 fluid ounces: the smallest total on the page, 8 ounces less than the Rubbermaid Brilliance five-pack’s 3.2-cup boxes.
The lid wording is the most permissive of the ten. “These Snapware containers feature airtight, leak-proof lids with 4 locking tabs that are BPA-free. They’re also top-rack dishwasher, freezer and microwave safe.” The sentence is about the lids. The silicone-sealed sets keep their lids out of the microwave or the dishwasher; the Rubbermaid 16-piece clears only its base. Snapware states the lid can go in all three, with the dishwasher limited to the top rack. It does not mention vents, so whether the lid stays latched while heating is not stated; we would loosen the tabs.
It is one of two listings with a written warranty. “LIMITED WARRANTY: This item has limited warranty. Made in USA”. No terms or period are given, and limited is weaker than GoodCook’s unconditional guarantee, but it is more than eight of the ten offer. It is also the only listing here that states a country of manufacture.
The material claims stop at BPA-free. “Made from lightweight and durable BPA-Free plastic”, and the containers “resist stains, odors, and flavors”. That stain claim is the only one on the page outside the two Tritan Rubbermaids, and unlike them Snapware does not say which plastic makes it possible. The colour field says white, which describes the lids rather than the clear boxes.
The lids double as labels. “Built-in Write + Erase label on lids” lets you mark contents or owner on the lid itself, with no separate stickers to lose. It is the only built-in label on the page; JSCARES, PRAKI and the others supply loose labels or none.
Stacking and nesting are not mentioned at all. It is the only listing of the ten that says nothing about how its containers store. It ranked #3,170 overall and #145 in Container Sets, the lowest on the page, and it is sold by Amazon.com. Model and part number agree, 1136622, and match no other listing. The 1.83-pound weight field is plausible for ten pieces boxed.
Pros
- Lids stated microwave, freezer and top-rack dishwasher safe
- Airtight, leak-proof lids with 4 locking tabs
- “limited warranty” stated
- The only “Made in USA” claim
- Write + Erase labels built into lids
- Sold by Amazon.com
Cons
- Smallest total volume: 120 oz by our arithmetic
- Plastic type not named
- Stacking and nesting not stated
- No vents; lid-on heating not described
- Lowest Best Sellers Rank on the page
Best for: Meal preppers who want five lunch boxes whose lids can go everywhere the box goes, with a warranty in writing.
Count the Containers, Then Add Them Up
The piece count in a title is the least reliable number on these listings. Seven of ten count lids somewhere in the listing, two of them (Rubbermaid’s five-pack and Snapware) outside the title. One counts containers and not lids. Two give a container count and say nothing about pieces. The table below strips the lids out and adds up every size each listing names. The totals are our arithmetic.
| Set | Pieces in title | Containers | Total volume (our arithmetic) | Average per container (our arithmetic) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rubbermaid Brilliance 5-pack | 10 | 5 | 128 oz | 25.6 oz |
| Rubbermaid Brilliance 14-piece | 14 | 7 | 156.8 oz | 22.4 oz |
| Rubbermaid Easy Find 16-piece | 16 | 8 | 256 oz | 32 oz |
| Glad XL Square | 3 count | 3 | 312 oz | 104 oz |
| GoodCook 10-pack | 10-pack | 10 | Not stated | Not stated |
| Dealusy 50-pack | 100 | 50 | 1,600 oz | 32 oz |
| JSCARES 40-piece | 40 | 20 | 311.3 oz | 15.6 oz |
| PRAKI 24-piece | 24 | 24 | 42 L (about 1,420 oz) | 1.75 L (about 59 oz) |
| JSCARES 52-piece | 52 | 26 | 406.4 oz | 15.6 oz |
| Snapware 5-pack | 5-pack (“10 PC”) | 5 | 120 oz | 24 oz |
Three things stand out. First, the Glad tubs and the 40-piece JSCARES land 0.7 ounces apart, 312 against 311.3, from three containers on one side and twenty on the other. Second, the three five- and seven-container sets carry the least volume of the ten: Snapware 120 ounces, then the two best-ranked sets, the Rubbermaid Brilliance pair, at 128 and 156.8. Third, the two JSCARES sets average about 15.6 ounces per container, because sauce cups and snack boxes pull the average down.
None of this makes small containers bad. A 1-ounce cup for salad dressing is useful because it is tiny, and a 104-ounce tub is useless for a child’s lunch. The point is that the piece count does not tell you which you are buying. Read the size list. If a listing does not give one, as GoodCook does not in words, that is the first question to ask the seller.
Watch the lid conventions when you compare across brands. Glad’s “3 count” and PRAKI’s “24 PCS” are container counts. On the convention the seven others use, Glad would be a 6-piece set and PRAKI a 48-piece set. GoodCook gives both numbers, 10 and 10, and adds nothing up.

What the Listings Say About Plastic, Seals and Heat
BPA-free is universal and tells you little. All ten listings say it, in a title or a bullet. What only two say is which plastic they use: the Rubbermaid Brilliance sets name Tritan. None of the ten names polypropylene, the common alternative, or any other resin. Snapware claims its containers “resist stains, odors, and flavors”, the only stain claim outside the Tritan sets, without saying what plastic delivers it.
| Set | Plastic named | Airtight claim | Leak claim | Seal described |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rubbermaid Brilliance 5-pack | Tritan | Yes (title) | “100% Leak-proof” | Latches |
| Rubbermaid Brilliance 14-piece | Tritan | Yes | “100% leak-proof” | Latches |
| Rubbermaid Easy Find 16-piece | Not stated | No | No | Snap-on vented lids |
| Glad XL Square | Not stated | No | “helps prevent leaks” | Multi-point lock |
| GoodCook 10-pack | Not stated | No | No | Domed lid |
| Dealusy 50-pack | Not stated | No | “Leakproof” | “tight sealed lids” |
| JSCARES 40-piece | Not stated | Yes | “100% Leak Proof” | Silicone rings, 4 locks |
| PRAKI 24-piece | Not stated | Yes | “water and air cannot enter” | Silicone strip, 4 locks |
| JSCARES 52-piece | Not stated | Yes | “completely leak-proof” | Silicone seal, 4 clips |
| Snapware 5-pack | Not stated | Yes | Leak-proof lids | 4 locking tabs |
Six say airtight and six say leak-proof, and they are not quite the same six. Dealusy says leak-proof but not airtight. PRAKI says air and water cannot get in, which is airtight, and is a dry-goods set, so it never promises to hold soup. Glad hedges. The 16-piece Rubbermaid and GoodCook make no seal claim at all. If you carry liquids, buy from the listings that promise in writing to contain them.
The heat rules are where the sets differ most in daily use. The silicone-sealed sets all restrict their lids: both JSCARES sets ban lids from the microwave; PRAKI bans lids from the dishwasher. Snapware goes the other way and states that its lids are top-rack dishwasher, freezer and microwave safe. The Rubbermaid Brilliance lids are designed to stay on in the microwave, with vents under the latches, though the 14-piece limits that to reheating. Glad says lift a corner. Dealusy alone gives a number, -4°F to 248°F.
| Set | Microwave | Freezer | Dishwasher |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rubbermaid Brilliance 5-pack | Yes, lid on (vented) | Yes | Yes |
| Rubbermaid Brilliance 14-piece | Reheat only, lid on (vented) | Yes | Top rack |
| Rubbermaid Easy Find 16-piece | Base yes; vented lids | Base yes | Base yes |
| Glad XL Square | Yes, lift a corner | Freezer use mentioned | Top rack |
| GoodCook 10-pack | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Dealusy 50-pack | Yes (to 248°F) | Yes (to -4°F) | Hand wash or top rack |
| JSCARES 40-piece | Without lid | Yes | Yes |
| PRAKI 24-piece | Not stated | Not stated | Containers only |
| JSCARES 52-piece | Without lids | Yes | Yes |
| Snapware 5-pack | Yes, lids included | Yes, lids included | Top rack, lids included |
Stacking claims are near-universal, nesting less so. Nine of ten listings say something about storage shape; Snapware says nothing. Both JSCARES sets and PRAKI say the containers nest when empty. The Rubbermaid 16-piece and Glad focus on lids that lock together, which solves a different problem. The Brilliance sets and GoodCook say stackable, and nesting is not stated.
Two warranties, and one listing that cannot decide what it is. GoodCook’s “Guaranteed Unconditionally” and Snapware’s “limited warranty” are the only product warranties, neither with terms; Rubbermaid’s five-pack guarantees its seal, without terms. Dealusy calls its 50 containers “Reusable” and “disposable” in the same listing. Glad does not say either way. Everyone else describes containers meant to be kept.
Same Brand, Same Seller, Different Model
We compared every model number on the page. No two listings share one. But two pairs are closely related, and one cross-brand pair shares a format.
- Rubbermaid 14-piece (2108377) and 16-piece (2108392). Same release date, 27 September 2019, and near-identical box dimensions (12.38 and 12.37 by 8.13 inches). Different products: Tritan Brilliance with latches and four sizes against Easy Find red vented lids with two sizes and no seal claim.
- Rubbermaid 5-pack (model 2053295, part 2041405). The only listing whose model and part numbers differ, and neither matches its siblings. It is the same Brilliance line as the 14-piece in one size.
- JSCARES 40-piece (JSC-20 CONTAINER SET) and 52-piece (JSC-26 CONTAINER SET). Same seller, JSCORE, same dimension fields (9.7 by 7.0 by 9.0 inches), same sizes where they overlap. Different models and contents: the 52-piece adds a second of each rectangle and a smaller size of each shape.
- Rubbermaid Brilliance 5-pack and Snapware 5-pack (1136622). Both are five rectangular lunch boxes, 3.2 cups against 3 cups, both sold by Amazon.com, and both count lids as pieces outside the title. Different makers, models, materials (Tritan against unnamed plastic) and lid designs (vents against locking tabs).
Best Alternatives
| Alternative | Why Consider It | Better For | Main Trade-Off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Glass containers with locking lids | Glass takes oven heat and does not stain; see our glass food storage container roundup | Reheating and baking in the same dish | Heavier, and breakable when dropped |
| Produce savers | Vented boxes built for fruit and vegetables; see our produce saver guide | Berries, herbs and salad leaves | Not designed for cooked food or liquids |
| Single large tubs (like the Glad set) | Fewer containers holding the same volume as a 40-piece set | Batch cooking and family leftovers | No small sizes for snacks or sauces |
| Disposable takeaway-style boxes | Many identical containers you can give away | Meal gifting and freezer stockpiles | Shorter life; light seals |
What the Step Up Buys
The step from takeaway boxes to latched sets buys a seal you can trust with liquid. The Dealusy and GoodCook boxes have lids that press on. Every set from the Rubbermaid Brilliance up describes latches or locking clips, and three describe a silicone strip or ring. If you store soup or sauces, that is the step that matters.
The step from generic plastic to named Tritan buys clarity and a stain claim. Only the Rubbermaid Brilliance sets name their material and claim stain and odour resistance. Tomato sauce and curry are the usual tests of a plastic container; the listings that name Tritan are the only ones that say anything about them.
The step from silicone-sealed to Brilliance-style lids buys a microwave you do not have to think about. The silicone-sealed sets protect their seals by keeping lids out of the microwave or, in PRAKI’s case, the dishwasher. Brilliance vents its lids so they stay on. Whether that is worth smaller total volume depends on how often you reheat in the container.
The step to a written warranty is the rarest of all. GoodCook and Snapware are the only listings that give one, and only GoodCook’s is unconditional. If containers that last matter more than containers that seal, that line is worth more than any piece count.

What to Check Before You Buy
How many containers, not pieces
Halve the piece count when lids are included, which is the case on seven of these ten listings. A 40-piece set is 20 containers; a 100-piece pack is 50. Look for the bullet that lists containers and lids separately, and if a listing gives only a piece count, ask.
What every size holds
Read the size list and add it up. On this page, three 104-ounce tubs hold 312 ounces and twenty mixed containers hold about 311, by our arithmetic. Decide whether you need volume, variety or both, and buy the size list rather than the headline.
Which plastic
BPA-free is on every listing here and does not identify the material. Only two name Tritan. If you care which plastic touches your food, choose a listing that names it, or ask the seller before you buy.
Leak-proof in writing
Six listings promise leak-proof outright, one hedges and two say nothing. For liquids in a bag, choose a listing with a written leak-proof claim and a described seal, silicone or latches. A claim is not a test, but its absence is informative.
What happens to the lid in heat
Silicone-sealed lids are the most restricted: two listings keep lids out of the microwave and one keeps them out of the dishwasher, while Snapware clears its lids for both. If you reheat in the container every day, a vented lid that can stay on, like the Brilliance, saves a step each time.
How they store empty
Twenty containers that nest take a fraction of the cupboard of twenty that only stack. Three listings here say nesting, and Snapware says nothing about storage at all. For lids, Glad and the Rubbermaid 16-piece lock lids together. If your containers live under a counter, an organiser like those in our under sink organizer roundup can keep a nested set in one place.
Reusable, disposable and guaranteed
Check that the listing means the containers to be kept. Dealusy says both reusable and disposable; Glad says neither. Only GoodCook and Snapware give a warranty. If you want years from a set, those words matter more than the piece count.

Common Mistakes
- Comparing piece counts across brands. Seven of ten count lids, so a 40-piece set is 20 containers and a 24-piece PRAKI set is 24.
- Assuming more pieces means more storage. Three 104-ounce Glad tubs hold 312 ounces; twenty JSCARES containers hold 311.3, by our arithmetic.
- Reading BPA-free as a material. All ten say BPA-free; only two name the plastic, Tritan.
- Microwaving a silicone-sealed lid. Both JSCARES sets say lids off; a silicone ring is the part heat is most likely to harm.
- Putting lids in the dishwasher when the listing says not to. PRAKI keeps its lids out; Snapware clears its lids for the top rack only.
- Trusting a seal nobody claims. The Rubbermaid 16-piece and GoodCook make no leak-proof claim; Glad only “helps prevent leaks”.
- Buying a pantry set for leftovers. PRAKI states no microwave or freezer use; its 2.8-litre canisters are for flour and pasta.
- Expecting disposable boxes to last. Dealusy calls its 50 containers both reusable and disposable; plan on a shorter life.
Who Should Buy Which
Buy the Rubbermaid Brilliance 5 x 3.2-Cup Set if you portion the same lunch five times a week and want a named plastic, lids that stay on in the microwave and the best-selling set on the page.
Buy the Rubbermaid Brilliance 14-Piece Set if you want one Tritan system covering dips, snacks, lunches and leftovers, with the most precise use limits of any listing here.
Buy the Rubbermaid Easy Find 16-Piece Set if lids that click together matter more to you than a written seal claim, and you want 32 cups across two mid sizes.
Buy the Glad GladWare XL Square 3 Count if you cook for a family in big batches and want 312 ounces in three tubs rather than twenty small boxes.
Buy the GoodCook Meal Prep 10-Pack if an unconditional guarantee and an explicitly reusable box matter more than a seal claim or a stated capacity.
Buy the Dealusy 50-Pack if you give meals away or freeze many portions and want containers you will not miss, with a stated -4°F to 248°F range.
Buy the JSCARES 40-Piece Set if you want 20 sealed containers with labels and a pen, and you are happy to take lids off before microwaving.
Buy the PRAKI 24-Piece Pantry Set if you are decanting dry goods into matching airtight canisters and want 42 litres of space by our arithmetic.
Buy the JSCARES 52-Piece Set if you want the biggest sealed multi-size system here, with pairs of every size and 406.4 ounces in total.
Buy the Snapware 5-Pack if you want five lunch boxes whose lids are cleared for microwave, freezer and top-rack dishwasher, with write-on lids and a limited warranty.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do food storage container piece counts include lids?
On most listings, yes. Seven of the ten sets on this page count every lid as a piece, so the number of containers is half the headline. Rubbermaid’s best-selling five-pack says it outright: five 3.2-cup containers and matching lids, totaling 10 pieces. Snapware’s 5-pack is listed as a 10 PC set, the 40-piece JSCARES is 20 containers, the 52-piece JSCARES is 26 and the 100-piece Dealusy pack is 50. Three listings work differently. Glad sells a 3 count, which is three containers. GoodCook sells a 10-pack and lists 10 containers and 10 lids separately without adding them up. PRAKI’s 24 pieces are all containers, so on the lids-included convention it would be a 48-piece set. When you compare sets from different brands, find the bullet that lists containers and lids separately and compare containers, not pieces. If a listing only gives a piece count, ask the seller how many containers are in the box before you buy.
Which food storage container set holds the most?
By total volume, the Dealusy 50-pack of 32-ounce containers holds the most: 1,600 fluid ounces by our arithmetic. After that comes the PRAKI pantry set, 24 canisters adding to 42 litres, which is about 1,420 fluid ounces, though it is designed for dry goods rather than leftovers. Among multi-size leftover sets, the JSCARES 52-piece leads at 406.4 ounces across 26 containers. The more surprising result is lower down: three Glad 104-ounce tubs add to 312 ounces, slightly more than the 40-piece JSCARES at 311.3. The Snapware five-pack holds the least, 120 ounces, and the two best-selling sets, both Rubbermaid Brilliance, are next at 128 and 156.8 ounces. These totals are our arithmetic from the sizes each listing states. GoodCook gives no capacity in words, so its set cannot be totalled. Volume is only half the story: small containers are useful for snacks and sauces even though they add little to the total.
Are airtight and leak-proof the same thing?
Not on these listings. Airtight is about air getting in, which matters for keeping dry goods crisp and leftovers fresh. Leak-proof is about liquid getting out, which matters when you carry soup in a bag. Six of the ten listings say airtight and six say leak-proof, but they are not the same six. Dealusy claims leak-proof without claiming airtight. PRAKI says water and air cannot enter its pantry canisters, an airtight claim, but never promises to hold liquids in. Glad says its lid helps prevent leaks, a hedge rather than a promise. The Rubbermaid 16-piece and GoodCook make neither claim. The two Rubbermaid Brilliance sets, Snapware and both JSCARES sets claim both, and all describe latches, locking tabs, clips or a silicone seal. If you need to carry liquids, choose a listing that claims leak-proof in writing and describes how the seal works. A written claim is not a test result, but a missing claim is worth noting.
Can I microwave plastic food storage containers with the lid on?
It depends entirely on the listing, and the rules differ more than any other spec on this page. The Rubbermaid Brilliance sets are designed for it: vents under the latches let you heat with the lid on, though the 14-piece limits the microwave to reheating only. Glad tells you to lift one corner of the lid to vent before microwaving large portions. The Rubbermaid 16-piece calls its base microwave safe and vents its lids to reduce splatter. Both JSCARES sets say the opposite: microwave without the lid, which protects their silicone rings. Snapware says its lids are microwave safe but describes no vents, so loosen the tabs. GoodCook and Dealusy say microwave safe without a lid rule, and Dealusy gives a range of -4°F to 248°F. PRAKI does not mention the microwave at all, since it is a pantry set. Follow the listing for your set, and if it is silent about the lid, take the lid off.
What plastic are food storage containers made of?
On this page, mostly you cannot tell. All ten listings say BPA-free, but only the two Rubbermaid Brilliance sets name the plastic, Tritan, and claim it is stain- and odour-resistant with glass-like clarity. None of the ten names polypropylene, a common container plastic, or any other resin. The other eight describe their material as food-grade plastic, premium plastic, non-toxic plastic or simply plastic made without BPA. Snapware claims its plastic resists stains, odours and flavours, the only such claim outside the Tritan sets, without naming the plastic. BPA-free tells you what a plastic does not contain; it does not identify what the plastic is. If the material matters to you, for staining, clarity or personal preference, choose a listing that names it or ask the seller directly. Our arithmetic and comparisons here use only what the listings state, and we have not assumed a resin that a listing does not name.
Are meal prep containers reusable or disposable?
The listings on this page mostly describe containers meant to be kept, but one blurs the line. GoodCook headlines its 10-pack as a reusable meal prep container set. The latched and silicone-sealed sets, Rubbermaid, Snapware, JSCARES and PRAKI, are all described in terms that assume years of use. Dealusy’s 50-pack is the exception: its first bullet is headed Sturdy and Reusable and says the containers can be cleaned for reuse by hand or on the top rack, but two later bullets call them BPA-free disposable food containers. The honest reading is a takeaway-style box sturdy enough to wash and reuse a few times. Glad’s listing does not say either way. If you want containers to last, look for latches or locking clips, a stated material and, ideally, a guarantee. If you want many identical boxes to give away or freeze, a 50-pack of one size is the efficient choice, but expect a shorter life.
Do any food storage containers come with a warranty?
Two listings on this page state a product warranty. GoodCook says its plastic construction is Guaranteed Unconditionally, without stating terms or a period, and unconditional is the strongest promise here. Snapware states a limited warranty, again without terms, and is also the only listing to say Made in USA. Rubbermaid’s five-pack uses the word Guaranteed about its no-spill seal, but gives no terms, period or claim process, so we treat its warranty as not stated. The other seven listings say nothing about warranty or guarantee. That silence does not mean no manufacturer cover exists, only that the listing does not tell you. If you are buying a set to last years, it is worth asking the seller what cover applies before you buy, especially for silicone seals and latches, which are the parts most likely to wear.
Are the two JSCARES sets and the Rubbermaid sets the same product in different sizes?
Not quite, and we compared model numbers to check. The two JSCARES sets are siblings: both are sold by JSCORE, both give identical dimension fields of 9.7 by 7.0 by 9.0 inches, and their sizes match where they overlap. But their models differ, JSC-20 CONTAINER SET for the 40-piece and JSC-26 CONTAINER SET for the 52-piece, and the larger set adds a second of each rectangle and smaller sizes of each shape. Among the Rubbermaids, the 14-piece (2108377) and 16-piece (2108392) were released on the same day with near-identical box sizes, but they are different lines: Tritan Brilliance with latches against Easy Find red vented lids with no seal claim. The five-pack is the same Brilliance line as the 14-piece, in one size, with a model of 2053295 and a part number of 2041405. No two listings share a model number.
Final Verdict
Seven Tritan containers from 0.5 to 9.6 cups, airtight and leak-proof claimed, vented lids, sold by Amazon.com.
Five identical Tritan lunch boxes, #1 in Container Sets, with lids that stay on to reheat.
26 silicone-sealed containers in pairs, 406.4 ounces by our arithmetic; take lids off to microwave.
The piece count is the number every one of these listings leads with, and it is the one that tells you least. Seven of ten count lids, so the containers you can fill are half the headline. Add up the sizes and the order shifts again: three Glad tubs hold 312 ounces, slightly more than the twenty containers in the 40-piece JSCARES, by our arithmetic, and the two best-selling sets on the page hold less than any but the Snapware.
The claims beneath the count are where sets really differ. All ten say BPA-free; only two name a plastic. Six say airtight, six say leak-proof, and the Rubbermaid 16-piece and the GoodCook show that neither a famous brand nor a guarantee comes with a seal claim by default. The JSCARES sets keep their lids out of the microwave; the Brilliance lids stay on, and Snapware clears its lids for everything. One listing calls its boxes disposable and reusable at once. Two give a warranty.
So buy a food storage set by its size list and its lid rules, not its title. Count containers. Add up what they hold. Check whether the listing promises to hold liquid, which plastic it names, and what it says the lid can survive. Then decide whether you need volume, variety or both.
If you buy one set from this page, make it the Rubbermaid Brilliance 14-Piece: seven containers in four useful sizes, the only named plastic here, airtight and leak-proof claims, lids that stay on to reheat and the most precise use limits of the ten. If you portion identical lunches, the Brilliance five-pack is the best-selling set on the page for a reason; if you want the most sealed containers in one system, the JSCARES 52-piece holds 406.4 ounces across 26 containers in pairs.
