The One Best Springform Pan to Explain Leakproof Uses a Sleeve

Affiliate Disclosure: As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. This does not affect the price you pay.

A springform pan comes apart: a band clamps around a loose base, and a latch tightens it. Wherever a band meets a loose base, there is a joint, and batter can get out of it or water can get in. So we read ten springform listings for what each says about that joint.

Two use the word leakproof. HIWARE, the best-selling pan on the page, puts it in the title and never says what makes the pan leakproof. MASSUGAR’s answer is not the pan: its set includes “a reusable food-grade silicone leakproof cheese cake pan protector”, a sleeve the pan sits in, which it says “locks in batter and keeps water out”. That is the only leakproof claim on the page that comes with a mechanism. The other eight say nothing about leaks at all.

So this guide sorts the ten by what each listing says about leaks, then sets out wall height, diameter, material and coating, base, pieces, oven limit, dishwasher claim and warranty for all of them. Star ratings and review counts were not captured for this roundup; popularity below is Amazon’s Best Sellers Rank only.

Best Sellers Ranks and specifications are taken from each manufacturer’s Amazon listing as displayed on 5 October 2026 through a United States connection, and may change. Wall heights are as listed, and they do not all come from the same place. Nordic Ware, ZeroPone and FoxKnow state a height or depth in their bullets; Fat Daddio’s states 3 inches in its title. The other six figures come from spec-table height fields, which may be an outer or packed measurement rather than the inside wall; where a spec table has swapped its fields (ZeroPone and Cuisinart list a 9-inch-plus height and a 2.6 or 2.8-inch width), we report the figure that fits a pan wall. MASSUGAR’s 2.3 inches is a single figure for a three-pan set. Farberware’s weight field gives a figure that cannot describe a steel pan, so it is not printed anywhere on this page. All ten model numbers are different; no two listings here share a model. Ranks are overall Best Sellers Ranks as returned on 5 October 2026. Four pans were sold by Amazon.com at capture; the other six by their brands or other third-party sellers. Star ratings and review counts were not captured for any product here.

How We Chose These Ten

We researched current listings, compared manufacturer specifications and documentation, and read each listing’s claims about leaks, size, material, care and warranty line by line. We did not carry out hands-on testing, and nothing below is presented as measured performance data. Star ratings and review counts were not captured for this roundup. We used Amazon Best Sellers Rank, buy-box stock and listing specifications instead, and nothing on this page describes or implies how owners have scored these pans.

  • Round springform pans only — every product here has a removable band and a loose base, from single 9 and 10-inch pans to sets of three and four sizes. Fixed-base cake pans, tart tins with push-out bases and silicone moulds were not in the running.
  • Leakproof claims logged with their mechanism — where a listing says leakproof, we looked for what it says achieves it: a base design, a seal, a gasket or an accessory. A claim with no stated mechanism is recorded as exactly that.
  • Diameter and wall height as printed — bullets and titles first, spec tables second, with the source noted. Where a spec table has clearly swapped height and width, we say so and use the figure that fits a pan wall.
  • Material, coating and base in the listing’s words — carbon steel, aluminized steel or not stated; the coating as named; the base as described, or marked not described.
  • Pieces counted from the box contents — pans, protectors, liners and tools, as each listing names them, and where a spec field disagrees with the title, both.
  • Oven limit, dishwasher claim and warranty only where written — a figure or a term the listing does not print is marked not stated. A hand-wash recommendation is recorded as one, not as a dishwasher ban.
  • Model numbers compared — we checked every model and part number against the other nine. All ten are different; two pairs read alike in their specifications and are flagged in the analysis below.
  • Popularity from Best Sellers Rank only — ranks are quoted exactly as returned on 5 October 2026, overall and in the category Amazon assigned. Each product was the buy-box offer and in stock on amazon.com on that date.

The Ten Springform Pans in Detail

1. MASSUGAR 4, 7 and 9 Inch Springform Pan Set with Silicone Protector — Best for Water Baths

Three black round springform pans in graduated sizes beside a round silicone sleeve and a stack of parchment circles

The only listing that tells you how it keeps water out, and the answer is a sleeve in the box rather than the pan itself.

Key Specifications

Leakproof claim Yes: reusable silicone protector “locks in batter and keeps water out”
Diameters 4, 7 and 9 in
Wall height 2.3 in (spec table, one figure for the set)
Material 0.4mm carbon steel; stainless-steel latch
Coating Food-grade double-layer nonstick; BPA-free
Base Not described
In the box 3 pans, silicone protector, 50 parchment liners, 3 scrapers
Oven limit 450°F (232℃)
Dishwasher Not stated (“just a quick rinse”)
Warranty Not stated
Seller MASSUGAR
Best Sellers Rank #6,963 overall; #20 in Springform; #1 in Ring Mold Pans

Why We Recommend It

This is the only listing on the page that answers the question a springform buyer should ask first. The question is how the pan keeps a water bath out of the cake. MASSUGAR’s answer is in the box contents: “a reusable food-grade silicone leakproof cheese cake pan protector”. The second bullet spells out what it is for: “HASSLE-FREE WATER BATH BAKING – No more foil wrapping! Say goodbye to messy leaks! This leakproof silicone cheesecake protector locks in batter and keeps water out.” No other listing here names a mechanism for keeping water out.

Read carefully, the claim belongs to the sleeve, not the pan. Nothing in the listing says the pans themselves are sealed. It does not describe a gasket in the base, a locking groove or a raised base. The pans are described by their steel, latch and coating; the leakproofing is something you put them in. That is a sensible design, because silicone can wrap the joint between band and base from outside. But it means the claim stands or falls on the fit. The spec table’s size field reads “4-7-9 + 9.1 Inches”, which reads like a 9.1-inch protector for the 9-inch pan. The listing does not say whether the sleeve fits the 4 or 7-inch pans; for those, foil is still the general answer.

The set is the most complete kit on the page. You get 4, 7 and 9-inch pans, the protector, “50 parchment paper liners, and 3 cake scraper smoothers”. The listing pitches the sizes by use: “the 4-inch for individual portions, the 7-inch for small gatherings, and the 9-inch non-stick pan for family meals or parties”. A 7-inch pan is a common size for a pressure-cooker cheesecake, and the listing names “Instant Pot, or air fryer” among its heat sources. The spec table’s item count says 3, which matches the pans and leaves the accessories uncounted.

The steel is measured. “Crafted with 0.4mm carbon steel and a heavy-duty stainless-steel latch”. Only three listings on the page give a metal thickness: this one, Petits Desserts at the same 0.4mm, and Cuisinart at 1mm. The coating is “food-grade double-layer nonstick”, unnamed, and the listing says the pans are BPA-free. The oven limit is “up to 450°F (232℃)”. The listing also says the pans heat up “on the stove”, a use we would not put a thin-based springform to without the maker’s instructions in front of you.

The wall is the lowest stated on the page. The spec table gives 2.3 inches, a single height for a set of three. That is 0.8 inches lower than the Nordic Ware’s 3.1, by our arithmetic. A tall New York cheesecake may need more height than that; check the recipe’s pan depth before you pour. Care is described as “no soaking, no scrubbing, just a quick rinse”, which is neither a dishwasher claim nor a hand-wash instruction.

What to weigh. It is sold by MASSUGAR and ranks #6,963 overall, #20 in Springform and #1 in Ring Mold Pans, the fourth-best overall rank on the page. No warranty is stated. If you bake cheesecakes in a water bath and want a reusable alternative to foil, this is the only listing that offers one in writing. If you want a single tall 9-inch pan, the Nordic Ware or Fat Daddio’s give you more wall.

Pros

  • Only stated leak defence: a silicone protector
  • Three sizes: 4, 7 and 9 in
  • 0.4mm carbon steel, stated
  • 450°F oven limit
  • 50 parchment liners and 3 scrapers included
  • Instant Pot and air fryer named

Cons

  • Leakproofing is the sleeve, not the pan
  • Sleeve fit for 4 and 7 in pans not stated
  • 2.3 in wall, lowest stated here
  • Dishwasher not stated
  • No warranty stated
  • Coating not named

Best for: A cheesecake baker who uses a water bath and wants a reusable sleeve instead of foil, plus smaller pans for minis and pressure cookers.

2. HIWARE 9 Inch Non-stick Springform Pan with Removable Bottom/Leakproof — Best Seller

Black round nonstick springform pan with a silver latch on the side band and the base fitted inside

The best-selling pan on the page puts leakproof in its title and never says what makes it so.

Key Specifications

Leakproof claim In title; mechanism not stated
Diameter 9 in
Wall height 2.8 in (spec table, 2.79921259557 in)
Material Not stated (“premium material”); stainless-steel buckle
Coating Double-layer food-grade nonstick
Base Not described
Pieces One pan
Oven limit 450°F
Dishwasher Hand wash recommended
Warranty Not stated
Seller BRILLBOW
Best Sellers Rank #612 overall; #1 in Springform

Why We Recommend It

The word is in the title and nowhere else. The listing title reads “HIWARE 9 Inch Non-stick Cheesecake Pan Springform Pan with Removable Bottom/Leakproof”. That slash ties leakproof to the removable bottom, which is the part of a springform most likely to leak. Then the four bullets cover a “HEALTHY COATING”, a stainless buckle, a 450°F oven limit and a list of recipes. None of them mentions a seal, a gasket, a groove, a base design or water. A claim without a mechanism is not something you can check before you buy, so we treat it as unexplained.

It is still the most popular springform on the page by a wide margin. It ranks #612 overall and #1 in Springform. The next best overall rank, ZeroPone’s, is #2,902. Whatever is driving that, it is not detail: this listing gives fewer specifications than most of the others. It does not say what the pan is made of. The bullet says “The premium material allows the pan to heat up quickly and evenly” without naming the material. The buckle is the only metal the listing identifies: “The stainless steel springform buckle has been upgraded which is stronger and easier to switch but will not fall off or crack”.

The coating gets the most words. “Our Non-stick coating is a food grade safety coating with no harsh chemicals or hazardous substances. The true double layer coating allows the cake be easily removed without damage.” It does not name the coating, and it does not make a specific PFOA or PFAS statement; “no harsh chemicals” is not a defined standard. Only Farberware on this page makes a PFAS claim, and only Nordic Ware a PFOA claim. If coating chemistry matters to you, this listing does not answer the question.

The size is ordinary, and the height comes from the spec table. The title says 9 inches. The spec table gives 9.2 by 9.29 inches across and a height of 2.79921259557 inches, about 2.8. That outer figure may include the latch and the base lip; the listing does not give an inside depth. At about 2.8 inches it sits in the middle of the page, above ZeroPone and FoxKnow at 2.6 and below Nordic Ware at 3.1. The oven limit, “up to 450℉”, matches five other pans here. The listing also mentions heating “on the stove or in the oven”; treat the oven as the use it is built for.

Care is hand wash. The last bullet ends “Hand wash recommended.” No dishwasher claim is made. No warranty is stated. The listed weight is 0.95 pounds, in line with the other single 9-inch pans.

What to weigh. It is sold by BRILLBOW. You get the best-selling springform on Amazon at capture, a 450°F limit and a leakproof word you cannot verify from the listing. If you bake in a water bath, wrap the base in foil as general practice, exactly as you would with any of the eight pans that make no claim. If you want to know what a pan is made of, nine of the other listings tell you more.

Pros

  • Best rank on the page: #612 overall
  • #1 in Springform
  • 450°F oven limit
  • Stainless-steel buckle, stated
  • Double-layer nonstick coating
  • Leakproof named in title

Cons

  • Leakproof mechanism not stated
  • Pan material not stated
  • Coating not named; no PFOA or PFAS claim
  • Hand wash recommended
  • No warranty stated
  • Height only from the spec table

Best for: A buyer who wants the most popular 9-inch springform and will wrap it in foil for a water bath anyway.

3. Nordic Ware Springform, 2-Piece Set 9 Inch Pan, 10 Cup Capacity — Best Overall

Charcoal grey round springform pan with a tall straight band and a latch, sitting on its slightly wider base

No leak claim, but the most fully measured pan on the page, the tallest stated wall and the longest stated warranty term.

Key Specifications

Leakproof claim Not stated
Diameter Base 9.8 in; collar 9.3 in; interior 8.8 in
Wall height 3.1 in (bullet); 3.13 in (spec table)
Capacity 10 cups
Material Carbon steel, charcoal finish
Coating Premium nonstick made without PFOA
Base Not described beyond its 9.8 in size
Pieces 2-piece set (title): band and base
Oven limit Not stated
Dishwasher Not stated
Warranty 10 Year Limited Warranty
Seller Amazon.com
Best Sellers Rank #3,016 overall; #3 in Springform

Why We Recommend It

This is the only listing that tells you how big the inside of the pan is. “The pan diameter: base 9.8 inches, collar 9.3 inches and the interior is 8.8 inches. With a 3.1 inch height and 10 cup capacity.” Every other 9-inch pan on the page gives one diameter, and none says whether that figure is inside or out. Nordic Ware gives three, and the interior is 8.8 inches. That is the honest answer to a question the rest leave open: a pan sold as 9 inches may bake a cake slightly narrower than 9 inches.

The numbers have consequences you can work out. At 8.8 inches inside, the base is about 60.8 square inches, against about 63.6 for a true 9-inch circle, by our arithmetic: roughly 4% less area, which a recipe will make up with a slightly taller cake. The collar at 9.3 inches is 0.5 inches wider than the interior, which puts the band and latch at about a quarter-inch each side. The base at 9.8 inches is the widest figure, which suggests the base extends past the band. The listing does not say whether that lip is flat, raised or grooved, so we cannot credit it with any leak resistance.

The wall is the tallest stated on the page. 3.1 inches in the bullet, 3.13 in the spec table, which agree. Fat Daddio’s title says 3 inches and Farberware’s spec table 3.0; everything else is lower. A tall wall is what a deep cheesecake needs, and it gives batter room below the rim. The 10-cup capacity is the only stated capacity on the page. Brim-full, a cylinder 8.8 inches across and 3.1 deep holds about 13 cups by our arithmetic, so the 10-cup figure reads as a working fill below the rim; the listing does not say how it was measured.

It says nothing about leaks, the oven or the dishwasher. The bullets cover size, a “removable band and sturdy buckle”, a “premium nonstick surface made without PFOA” and “durable carbon steel with a sleek charcoal finish”. There is no oven limit, no dishwasher statement and no leakproof claim. Three pans on the page give no oven limit, and this is one of them. For a water bath, wrap the base in foil as general practice. The PFOA wording is narrower than Farberware’s PFAS claim; it rules out one chemical, not the class.

The warranty is the most specific on the page. The spec table gives “10 Year Limited Warranty”. Cuisinart and Fat Daddio’s say lifetime, a longer promise; Nordic Ware’s is the only one with a stated number of years, and the word limited means terms apply. The title calls the pan a “2-Piece Set”; with a removable band described in the bullets, the two pieces read as band and base, one pan, not two.

What to weigh. It is sold by Amazon.com and ranks #3,016 overall and #3 in Springform, the third-best overall rank on the page. The release date field says 2004, the oldest listing here. You get the tallest wall, the only interior measurement and capacity, a PFOA-free coating and a 10-year limited warranty. You do not get an oven limit or care instructions in the listing, so check the packaging before you push it past a normal baking temperature.

Pros

  • Interior, collar and base diameters all stated
  • Tallest stated wall: 3.1 in
  • Only stated capacity: 10 cups
  • 10 Year Limited Warranty
  • Carbon steel; nonstick made without PFOA
  • Sold by Amazon.com

Cons

  • No leakproof claim
  • Oven limit not stated
  • Dishwasher not stated
  • Interior is 8.8 in, not 9
  • Base lip not described
  • PFOA claim only, not PFAS

Best for: A cheesecake baker who wants a tall, fully measured 9-inch pan with a warranty in years and will foil-wrap it for a water bath.

4. Cuisinart 9-Inch Chef’s Classic Nonstick Bakeware Springform Pan, Champagne — Best Premium

Champagne-coloured round springform pan with rolled top edge and side latch on a light worktop

The heaviest stated metal, the only named coating and a dishwasher claim, in the lowest-ranked listing on the page.

Key Specifications

Leakproof claim Not stated
Diameter 9 in (title); 9.3 in (spec table)
Wall height 2.8 in (spec table width field)
Material 1mm aluminized steel
Coating Whitford Xylan nonstick, interior and exterior
Rim Thick rolled edges to prevent warping
Base Not described
Pieces One pan
Oven limit Not stated
Dishwasher Dishwasher safe
Warranty Lifetime warranty
Seller Amazon.com
Best Sellers Rank #13,113 overall; #38 in Springform

Why We Recommend It

The metal is the thickest stated on the page. The first bullet reads “Heavy guage 1-mm aluminized steel construction for even heating”. Only two other listings give a thickness, MASSUGAR and Petits Desserts, both at 0.4mm. One millimetre is two and a half times that, by our arithmetic. Thicker steel resists denting and warping and spreads heat more slowly and evenly. The third bullet backs the point: “Thick rolled edges prevent warping”. A band that stays round is a band that meets its base cleanly, which is the closest any listing without a leak claim comes to addressing the joint.

It is the only listing that names its coating. “Whitford xylan non-stick interior and exterior for easy release and cleanup”. Xylan is a family of fluoropolymer coatings from a named maker. That tells you more than “food-grade”, “premium” or “double-layer”, which is how the other listings describe theirs. It also tells you, by implication, that this is a conventional fluoropolymer nonstick. The listing makes no PFOA or PFAS statement either way. Coated outside as well as in, it should also be easier to wipe clean of batter that has crept out of the joint.

It is one of only two pans that say dishwasher safe. The fourth bullet is two words: “Dishwasher safe”. Amazon Basics is the other. Four listings ask you to hand wash. A dishwasher claim on a coated pan is still a claim about tolerance, not about longevity; hand washing is the gentler routine for any nonstick. The warranty field says “Lifetime warranty”, one of two lifetime terms on the page, with Fat Daddio’s.

It does not give an oven limit. There are four bullets and none of them names a temperature. Six other pans say 450°F, and Amazon Basics 428°F. Ordinary cheesecake and cake temperatures sit well below either figure, but if you want a written ceiling, this listing does not give one. Nor does it describe the base or say anything about leaks; for a water bath, wrap it in foil as general practice.

The spec table needs reading. It gives 9.3 inches for both height and length and 2.8 inches for width. A springform 9.3 inches tall is not plausible; the likeliest reading is that the fields are swapped, making it about 9.3 inches across the outside and 2.8 inches high. The colour field says “Springform Pan” and the size field “1 Count”; the title supplies the 9 inches and the champagne colour. The release date field says 2011.

What to weigh. It is sold by Amazon.com and ranks #13,113 overall and #38 in Springform, the lowest on the page. The rank reflects popularity, not construction: by its listing it is the most solidly built pan here, with the only named coating, a dishwasher claim and a lifetime warranty. Against the Nordic Ware, it gives up 0.3 inches of wall height and the interior measurements, and gains a stated thickness and dishwasher safety.

Pros

  • 1mm aluminized steel, the thickest stated
  • Only named coating: Whitford Xylan
  • Coated inside and out
  • Dishwasher safe, stated
  • Lifetime warranty
  • Rolled edges to prevent warping

Cons

  • No leakproof claim
  • Oven limit not stated
  • Spec table height and width swapped
  • No PFOA or PFAS statement
  • Lowest rank on the page
  • Base not described

Best for: A buyer who wants the heaviest stated metal, a named coating, dishwasher safety and a lifetime warranty in one 9-inch pan.

5. Fat Daddio’s Round Springform Pan, 3 Inch High, 9 Inch — Best Lifetime Warranty

Spec-table outline 11.5 x 11.5 x 5.5 in
Seller BakeDeco
Best Sellers Rank #10,618 overall; #9 in Springform

Why We Recommend It

This listing has one bullet, and it is the brand name. “Fat Daddio’s Original Spring Form Pan”. That is the whole description. The title adds “Round Springform Pan, 3 inch high – 9””, and the spec table adds a size of “9 x 3 inches”, a silver colour, a weight of 1.02 pounds and a “Lifetime Warranty”. Everything else a buyer might want, the metal, the coating, the oven limit, the care routine, the base design, is missing.

The two numbers it does give are good ones. A 3-inch wall is near the top of the page: only Nordic Ware states more, at 3.1 inches, and Farberware’s spec table matches it at 3.0. And this is one of only four listings where the height comes from the title or a bullet rather than a spec-table field that may be measuring the box. For a deep cheesecake, a 9 by 3-inch pan is the shape most recipes have in mind.

The warranty is the other strength. Lifetime, by the spec table, one of two lifetime terms on the page with Cuisinart. Nordic Ware gives 10 years. Six listings give no warranty at all. A warranty term does not tell you how a pan is built, but it does tell you the brand expects it to last, and it gives you recourse if the latch or band fails.

Silver, with no coating named, is a different kind of pan. Nine of the ten listings here describe a dark nonstick coating or a coloured finish. This one is listed as silver and names no coating. The listing does not say what the metal is, so we cannot tell you whether it is anodised aluminium, plain aluminium or steel. What a light, uncoated surface generally means is slower browning than a dark pan and a need to grease or line the base for release. If you buy it, plan on parchment for the base, and check the packaging for oven and dishwasher guidance, because the listing gives neither.

The spec-table outline is not the pan. It gives 11.5 by 11.5 by 5.5 inches, which cannot describe a 9 by 3-inch pan and reads as a packaging measurement. The weight of 1.02 pounds is in line with the other 9-inch pans and may be packed weight too. For a water bath, wrap the base in foil as general practice; the listing makes no leak claim.

What to weigh. It is sold by BakeDeco and ranks #10,618 overall and #9 in Springform. You get a 9 by 3-inch shape, stated in the title, and a lifetime warranty. You get no material, no coating, no oven limit and no care instructions from the listing. If you already know the brand’s pans, that may be enough. If you do not, Nordic Ware gives you a similar wall height and far more information.

Pros

  • 3 in wall, stated in the title
  • Lifetime warranty
  • 9 x 3 in, the classic cheesecake shape
  • Height not reliant on a spec-table field
  • Silver finish; no dark coating
  • #9 in Springform

Cons

  • One bullet: brand name only
  • Material and coating not stated
  • Oven limit not stated
  • Dishwasher not stated
  • No leakproof claim
  • Spec-table outline reads as packaging

Best for: A buyer who wants a plain 9 by 3-inch springform with a lifetime warranty and already knows how they will grease and line it.

6. Farberware Nonstick Bakeware 9-Inch Round Springform Pan, Gray — Best PFAS-Free Claim

Dark grey nonstick round springform pan with a clasp on the band and a flat base, viewed from above

The only coating on the page sold as made without PFAS, on a pan whose material the listing never names.

Key Specifications

Leakproof claim Not stated
Diameter 9 in (title); 9.5 in (spec table)
Wall height 3.0 in (spec table)
Material Not stated (“heavy-duty construction”)
Coating Nonstick made without PFAS, PFOA, lead or cadmium
Base Not described
Pieces One pan
Oven limit 450°F
Dishwasher Not stated
Warranty Quality Assurance Guarantee (terms not stated)
Seller Amazon.com
Best Sellers Rank #8,465 overall; #7 in Springform

Why We Recommend It

This is the only listing that says its coating is made without PFAS. The second bullet: “Responsibly made without PFAS, PFOA, lead, or cadmium.” Nordic Ware says made without PFOA, which is one compound. PFAS is the wider class that PFOA belongs to, so Farberware’s claim is the broader one on the page. The same bullet adds a qualifier worth reading: “Product design does not involve intentionally adding to the interior nonstick coating any of these substances which may otherwise be present in the environment”. That is a claim about what the maker adds to the interior coating, not a test result for the finished pan, and it says nothing about the exterior.

The listing never says what the pan is made of. The first bullet says “This springform pan’s heavy-duty construction resists warping and heats evenly to brown beautifully and help reduce hot spots”. Heavy-duty is a description, not a material or a thickness. Steel is the usual material for a coated springform, but the listing does not say so, and we do not assume it. Three listings on the page leave the material unnamed: this one, HIWARE and Fat Daddio’s.

The size fields disagree slightly, and the height comes from the spec table. The title says 9 inches and the size field “9””. The spec table gives 9.5 by 9.5 inches, which reads as an outside measurement including the latch. The height field says 3.0 inches. If that is the wall, it ties with Fat Daddio’s for second tallest on the page; if it includes a base lip or feet, the inside wall is lower. The listing does not say. The oven limit is clear: “oven safe to 450 degrees F”, matching five other pans.

The guarantee is a name without terms. The fifth bullet is the three words “QUALITY ASSURANCE GUARANTEE”, and the warranty field repeats them. Neither says how long it lasts or what it covers. Against Nordic Ware’s 10-year limited warranty and the lifetime terms from Cuisinart and Fat Daddio’s, it is the vaguest warranty statement on the page that still counts as one. The weight field gives a figure that cannot describe a steel or aluminium pan of this size, so we leave it out.

It says nothing about leaks or the dishwasher. The bullets mention “tortes and quiches” and cheesecake, but no seal, base design or water bath. There is no dishwasher statement and no hand-wash instruction. For a water bath, wrap the base in foil as general practice. For care, treat it as you would any nonstick, by hand.

What to weigh. It is sold by Amazon.com and ranks #8,465 overall and #7 in Springform. The manufacturer field names Meyer Corporation. You get the broadest coating-chemistry claim on the page, a 450°F limit and a 3.0-inch spec-table height. You do not get a named material, a defined guarantee, care instructions or a leak claim. If a PFAS-free interior is your first filter, this is the only listing that passes it in writing.

Pros

  • Only PFAS-free coating claim on the page
  • Also without PFOA, lead and cadmium
  • 450°F oven limit
  • 3.0 in spec-table height
  • Sold by Amazon.com
  • Warping resistance claimed

Cons

  • Pan material not stated
  • Guarantee has no stated terms
  • PFAS claim covers the interior coating only
  • Dishwasher not stated
  • No leakproof claim
  • Weight field not credible

Best for: A buyer whose first filter is a coating sold as made without PFAS, and who will hand wash and foil-wrap it.

7. Amazon Basics Nonstick Springform Pan, 10 Inch, Oven and Dishwasher Safe, Carbon Steel — Best 10-Inch

Black nonstick round springform pan with a side latch, slightly wider than a standard cake tin

The only single 10-inch pan here, and one of two that say dishwasher safe, with the lowest stated oven limit.

Key Specifications

Leakproof claim Not stated
Diameter 10 in; 10.35 in (spec table)
Wall height 2.95 in (spec table)
Material Carbon steel
Coating Nonstick, not named
Base Not described
Pieces One pan
Oven limit 428°F
Dishwasher Dishwasher safe; hand wash for best results
Warranty Not stated
Seller Amazon.com
Best Sellers Rank #7,226 overall; #6 in Springform

Why We Recommend It

This is the only single 10-inch springform on the page. The title and first bullet both say “10 in. springform pan for cheesecakes, pies, and more”, and the size field says “10 in. diam.”. The spec table gives 10.35 inches each way, which reads as the outside with the latch. Every other single pan here is 9 inches; the two sets add a 4, a 7 and, in Petits Desserts’ case, an 11.

A 10-inch pan is not a 9-inch pan with a little more room. A 10-inch circle covers about 78.5 square inches and a 9-inch circle about 63.6, by our arithmetic: about 23% more base. Pour a 9-inch recipe into it and the cake comes out roughly a fifth thinner and bakes faster. Scale the recipe up by about a quarter, or choose this pan for recipes written for 10 inches. The spec table gives a height of 2.95 inches, in the middle of the page, so the extra volume comes from width rather than wall.

It is one of two pans that say dishwasher safe. “DISHWASHER-SAFE: Dishwasher-safe for quick and convenient cleaning after use. Hand-wash with warm water and mild soap for best results”. Cuisinart is the other. The second sentence is the honest one: the pan tolerates the dishwasher, and the coating lasts longer by hand. Four listings on the page only ask for hand washing.

Its oven limit is the lowest stated here. “OVEN-SAFE: Oven-safe up to 428°F; perfect for everyday baking”. Six pans say 450°F. 428°F is 220°C, by our arithmetic, a metric round number converted, and it is higher than ordinary cheesecake and cake temperatures. It matters only if you use the pan for something hotter, such as a deep-dish pizza, which other listings here suggest.

The rest is plain. “Carbon steel construction for excellent heat conduction and even baking” and “Nonstick coating ensures quick and effortless food release”. No coating name, no thickness, no base description and no leak claim. No warranty is stated and the listing gives no weight. The release date field says 22 October 2025, the newest listing on the page. For a water bath, wrap the base in foil as general practice.

What to weigh. It is sold by Amazon.com and ranks #7,226 overall and #6 in Springform. You get the only single 10-inch pan, carbon steel and a dishwasher claim. You give up the 450°F figure, any warranty and any statement about leaks. If your recipes are written for 10 inches, this is the pan on the page for them.

Pros

  • Only single 10-inch pan here
  • Dishwasher safe, stated
  • Carbon steel, stated
  • 2.95 in spec-table height
  • Sold by Amazon.com
  • Newest listing on the page

Cons

  • 428°F, the lowest stated oven limit
  • No warranty stated
  • No leakproof claim
  • Coating not named
  • 9-inch recipes bake thinner in it
  • No weight given

Best for: A baker whose recipes are written for a 10-inch springform and who wants the option of the dishwasher.

8. ZeroPone 9 Inch Springform Pan with Removable Bottom — Best Textured Base

Black round springform pan with the band opened and a textured honeycomb pattern on the removable base

One of only two listings that describe the base at all, and it describes heat, not leaks.

Key Specifications

Leakproof claim Not stated
Diameter 9 in
Wall height 2.6 in (bullet)
Material Double-layer carbon steel; stainless-steel latches
Coating Food-grade nonstick
Base Removable honeycomb-texture base
Pieces One pan
Oven limit 450°F
Dishwasher Hand wash only recommended
Warranty Not stated
Model ZP-SFP-9inch
Seller ZeroPone
Best Sellers Rank #2,902 overall; #2 in Springform

Why We Recommend It

This is one of two listings on the page that say anything about the base. “The removable honeycomb texture base ensures even heating while helping you easily take out the cake after baking is complete”. FoxKnow describes a textured bottom too. Seven listings do not describe the base at all, and Nordic Ware gives only its size. A textured base is about heat and release: the pattern stiffens a thin sheet and may help the cake let go. The listing does not connect it to a seal, so it tells you nothing about leaks.

The size is stated in a bullet, which makes it more trustworthy than the spec table. “Diameter 9” /height 2.6”, please check the size carefully before ordering”. The spec table gives a height of 9.0 inches and a width of 2.6, which is the same pair of numbers in the wrong fields. At 2.6 inches, it is 0.5 inches lower than the Nordic Ware, by our arithmetic, and level with FoxKnow and the Petits Desserts set. That is enough for most standard cheesecakes, less so for a tall New York style.

The metal is described, not measured. “Cheesecake pans are made of double-layer carbon steel material (won’t rust)”, with a “food-grade non-stick coating” and latches that “are made of stainless steel, solid and not easy to break”. Double-layer is not a thickness, and the listing does not say what the two layers are. Carbon steel itself does rust if the coating is damaged; the “won’t rust” claim relies on the coating, which is one more reason to follow the hand-wash advice.

One claim we would not follow. The size bullet says “High-quality materials enable the pan to heat up quickly and evenly in the microwave or oven”. A metal pan does not belong in a conventional microwave unless the microwave’s own manual allows it, and nothing in this listing explains what kind of microwave is meant. Use it in the oven, where its stated limit is “safe up to 450 degrees Fahrenheit”.

Care is hand wash only. “To protect the non-stick coating, hand wash only is recommended”. No warranty is stated. The listed weight is 0.68 pounds, the lightest single pan with a listed weight on the page. On paper, this listing and FoxKnow’s describe almost the same pan; see the analysis below.

What to weigh. It is sold by ZeroPone and ranks #2,902 overall and #2 in Springform, the second-best rank on the page. You get a described base, a stated 9 by 2.6-inch size and a 450°F limit. You get no leak claim, no warranty and no thickness. For a water bath, wrap the base in foil as general practice, and keep it out of the microwave.

Pros

  • Honeycomb base described
  • 9 x 2.6 in stated in a bullet
  • 450°F oven limit
  • Stainless-steel latches
  • Second-best rank: #2 in Springform
  • Carbon steel, stated

Cons

  • No leakproof claim
  • Microwave claim for a metal pan
  • Hand wash only
  • Double-layer is not a thickness
  • No warranty stated
  • Spec table height and width swapped

Best for: A buyer who wants a popular, fully sized 9-inch pan with a textured base and will hand wash it.

9. FoxKnow 9 Inch Nonstick Springform Cheesecake Pan with Removable Bottom — Best Budget

Black nonstick springform pan with a stainless latch and a textured base, on a pale kitchen counter

A textured base, a stated 9 by 2.6-inch size and 450°F, in the lowest-priced listing on the page.

Key Specifications

Leakproof claim Not stated
Diameter 9 in
Wall height 2.6 in depth (bullet)
Material Carbon steel; stainless-steel latch
Coating Food-grade nonstick
Base Textured bottom
Pieces One pan
Oven limit 450°F
Dishwasher Hand washing helps maintain the coating
Warranty Not stated
Model FK-SP-9inch
Seller Senlift
Best Sellers Rank #7,119 overall; #5 in Springform

Why We Recommend It

The base is described, like ZeroPone’s, for heat rather than sealing. “The textured bottom of the spring form pan for cheesecake helps distribute heat more evenly while supporting the cake during baking”. It is the second of only two listings that describe the base. Like ZeroPone, it says nothing about how the base meets the band, so the texture is not a leak claim.

The size is in a bullet and agrees with the spec table. “This cheese cake pans for baking measures 9 inches in diameter and 2.6 inches in depth, and is heat-resistant up to 450°F.” The spec table gives 9.0 by 9.0 inches and a height of 2.6, the same numbers in the right fields. Depth is the right word for a pan: it is the inside measurement a recipe cares about, and this is one of four listings that state it in a bullet or the title.

The materials are named, without a thickness. “Made from durable carbon steel with a food-grade nonstick coating and a sturdy stainless steel latch”. That is the same combination ZeroPone describes, and the same 450°F limit. The coating is unnamed and no PFOA or PFAS statement is made.

Care is soft hand-wash advice. “Hand washing helps maintain the coating”. That is a recommendation, not a ban on the dishwasher, and not a dishwasher claim either. No warranty is stated. The listed weight is 0.86 pounds.

On paper, it is ZeroPone’s twin, under a different model number. Both are 9 inches across and 2.6 inches deep in their bullets. Both are carbon steel with a food-grade nonstick coating and a stainless latch. Both are rated to 450°F, both describe a textured base for even heating, and both ask for hand washing. The model numbers follow the same pattern, ZP-SFP-9inch and FK-SP-9inch, but they are different numbers, and the listed weights differ, 0.68 against 0.86 pounds. We cannot tell from the listings whether they come from one factory. We can say that nothing in the two listings would separate them except rank, weight and seller.

What to weigh. It is sold by Senlift and ranks #7,119 overall and #5 in Springform. It was the lowest-priced pan on the page at capture. You get a described base, a stated depth and a 450°F limit, and no leak claim, no warranty and no thickness. For a water bath, wrap the base in foil as general practice.

Pros

  • Lowest-priced pan on the page at capture
  • Textured base described
  • 9 in across, 2.6 in deep, stated in a bullet
  • 450°F oven limit
  • Spec table agrees with the bullets
  • Stainless-steel latch

Cons

  • No leakproof claim
  • No warranty stated
  • Hand washing advised
  • Coating not named
  • No thickness stated
  • Near-identical to ZeroPone on paper

Best for: A budget buyer who wants a 9-inch pan with its depth stated in writing and a textured base.

Oven limit 450℉ / 230℃
Dishwasher Hand wash and dry promptly
Warranty Not stated
Seller PetitsDesserts
Best Sellers Rank #10,899 overall; #10 in Springform

Why We Recommend It

This is the widest spread of sizes on the page. “This springform pan set gives you 4” – minies, 7” – Instant Pot, 9” – standard cheese cake, and 11” – celebration pans.” MASSUGAR also offers 4, 7 and 9 inches; Petits Desserts adds an 11-inch, the largest pan on the page. An 11-inch circle covers about 95 square inches, about half as much again as a 9-inch, by our arithmetic. That is a party cake, or a 9-inch recipe and a half.

The steel is measured, at the same figure as MASSUGAR. “These spring pans use a heavy-gauge 0.4 mm steel that distributes heat evenly, holds shape in the oven, resists warping, and stays OVEN SAFE up to 450℉ / 230℃”. The listing calls 0.4mm heavy-gauge; Cuisinart’s 1mm is two and a half times as thick. It says steel without saying carbon steel, though the size field reads “Carbon Steel Set of 4”. Note the conversions differ slightly between the two 0.4mm sets: MASSUGAR gives 450°F as 232℃, Petits Desserts as 230℃.

The extras are tools, not leak protection. “Plus a Cake Tester and MagiCord slicer”, the slicer “for neat, even layers” and the tester “for checking doneness with confidence”. Where MASSUGAR’s set includes a silicone sleeve for water baths, this one includes nothing for the joint. Four pans, four joints, and no leak claim on any of them. For a water bath, wrap each base in foil as general practice.

The fields disagree on what is in the box. The title and size field describe a set of four. The item count field says 1, which counts the set as one item. The spec table gives 11.0 by 11.0 inches, the largest pan, and a height of 2.6 inches, a single figure for all four. The weight is 2.5 pounds for the set.

The release claim goes further than most. “Parchment paper is unnecessary most of the time”. Every other coated pan here claims easy release; this is the only listing that tells you to skip the liner. For a cheesecake, a parchment circle on the base still makes moving it to a plate easier, whatever the coating. Care is “Hand wash and dry promptly for longer-lasting performance”.

What to weigh. It is sold by PetitsDesserts and ranks #10,899 overall and #10 in Springform. No warranty is stated. You get four sizes from 4 to 11 inches in measured steel and two baking tools. You give up any leak defence and any warranty. If you bake at many sizes, it covers the most ground on the page; if you bake one cheesecake in a water bath, MASSUGAR’s set is the one with a sleeve.

Pros

  • Four sizes: 4, 7, 9 and 11 in
  • Largest pan on the page: 11 in
  • 0.4 mm steel, stated
  • 450℉ / 230℃ oven limit
  • Cake tester and slicer included
  • Warping resistance claimed

Cons

  • No leakproof claim on any pan
  • No warranty stated
  • Hand wash only
  • 2.6 in, one height for four pans
  • Item count field says 1
  • Coating not named

Best for: A baker who works across sizes, from minis to an 11-inch celebration cake, and will foil-wrap for water baths.

Two Say Leakproof, One Says How

The table below sets out what each listing says about the joint between band and base: whether it claims to be leakproof, what it says achieves that, and how it describes the base. Read across and the gap is plain. One mechanism is described on the whole page, and it is an accessory. No pan describes a gasket, a seal, a raised or grooved base, or a glass base.

Pan Leakproof claim How it is achieved Base as described Water bath named
MASSUGAR set Yes Silicone protector sleeve Not described Yes
HIWARE Yes, in title Not stated Not described No
Nordic Ware No — 9.8 in, wider than 9.3 in collar No
Cuisinart No — (rolled edges against warping) Not described No
Fat Daddio’s No — Not described No
Farberware No — Not described No
Amazon Basics No — Not described No
ZeroPone No — Honeycomb texture No
FoxKnow No — Textured bottom No
Petits Desserts set No — Not described No

A leakproof word without a mechanism cannot be checked. HIWARE ties leakproof to its removable bottom in the title, then never returns to it. It could be a well-fitted base, or a claim about thick batter rather than water. The listing does not say, and we do not guess. MASSUGAR is the opposite case: the claim is specific, it names water, and it tells you what does the work.

Why the joint matters. A springform base sits inside or under the band, and the latch pulls the band tight around it. Thin batter can seep through that line before it sets, and in a water bath the water is pressing the other way for the whole bake. Nothing in any listing here tells you how tight that fit is. Two describe a textured base for heat; Cuisinart’s rolled edges are about keeping the band round, which helps the fit but is not sold as a seal.

The general guidance follows from that. For any of the ten in a water bath, wrap the base and the lower sides in foil before the pan goes into the water: a wide sheet, or two overlapped, brought up the sides with no seam below the waterline. That is standard practice, not a listing claim and not something we measured. MASSUGAR’s listing says its sleeve replaces the foil for its 9-inch pan; for its smaller pans, and for every other pan on the page, foil is the defence you can rely on. Steam can still condense inside a wrap, so a parchment circle on the base and a pan that has cooled before you open the latch both help.

A slice of cheesecake with berries on a white plate
No pan here describes a sealed base, so foil remains the general defence in a water bath.

Diameter, Wall Height and What Fits a Recipe

A springform recipe names a diameter and, often, a depth. The ten listings give diameters freely and heights less reliably. The table shows each figure and where it came from, because a spec-table height may measure the box or the outside of the latch rather than the wall.

Pan Diameter Wall height Height source Base area (ours)
Nordic Ware 8.8 in interior; 9.3 in collar 3.1 in Bullet About 60.8 sq in
Fat Daddio’s 9 in 3 in Title About 63.6 sq in
Farberware 9 in 3.0 in Spec table About 63.6 sq in
Amazon Basics 10 in 2.95 in Spec table About 78.5 sq in
HIWARE 9 in 2.8 in Spec table About 63.6 sq in
Cuisinart 9 in 2.8 in Spec table, swapped field About 63.6 sq in
ZeroPone 9 in 2.6 in Bullet About 63.6 sq in
FoxKnow 9 in 2.6 in Bullet About 63.6 sq in
Petits Desserts set 4, 7, 9, 11 in 2.6 in Spec table, one figure About 63.6 sq in at 9 in
MASSUGAR set 4, 7, 9 in 2.3 in Spec table, one figure About 63.6 sq in at 9 in

Only four heights are stated in the listing copy. Nordic Ware’s 3.1 inches, Fat Daddio’s 3 inches, and ZeroPone and FoxKnow at 2.6. Those are the figures to plan a recipe around. The rest come from spec fields that may include a base lip or latch, or may describe a set with one number. Between the tallest and lowest stated walls there is 0.8 inches, by our arithmetic, and on a 9-inch pan that is about 51 cubic inches of room, a little over three and a half cups.

Nominal diameter is not interior diameter. Nordic Ware is the only listing to give the inside, 8.8 inches, against a 9.3-inch collar. If the other 9-inch pans measure the same way, their cakes are also a little narrower than 9 inches. That does not matter much for a cheesecake; it matters if you are fitting a pan inside a slightly larger one for a water bath, or a pan into a pressure cooker. For the pans with a spec-table outline, MASSUGAR at 9.0, FoxKnow at 9.0, HIWARE at about 9.2 and Farberware at 9.5, measure the space you need against the larger figure.

Ten inches is a different recipe. The Amazon Basics pan covers about 23% more base than a 9-inch, by our arithmetic. The Petits Desserts 11-inch covers about half as much again. Use those sizes for recipes written for them, or scale up; a 9-inch recipe will bake thinner and faster. If you bake mostly layer cakes rather than cheesecake, a fixed-base pan from our cake pan roundup may suit better; for tarts and quiches with a fluted edge, see our pie dish guide.

Material, Coating and the Numbers Behind Them

Every pan but one is sold with a coating, and most are carbon steel. What differs is how much each listing tells you. Three give a thickness. One names its coating. One makes a PFAS claim.

Pan Material Thickness Coating Chemistry claim
Cuisinart Aluminized steel 1mm Whitford Xylan, inside and out None
MASSUGAR set Carbon steel 0.4mm Double-layer nonstick BPA-free
Petits Desserts set Steel (carbon steel in size field) 0.4 mm Non-stick, unnamed None
Nordic Ware Carbon steel Not stated Premium nonstick Made without PFOA
Farberware Not stated Not stated Nonstick Without PFAS, PFOA, lead, cadmium
ZeroPone Double-layer carbon steel Not stated Food-grade nonstick None
FoxKnow Carbon steel Not stated Food-grade nonstick None
Amazon Basics Carbon steel Not stated Nonstick None
HIWARE Not stated Not stated Double-layer nonstick “No harsh chemicals”
Fat Daddio’s Not stated (silver) Not stated Not stated None

Thickness is the rarest number. Cuisinart’s 1mm is two and a half times the 0.4mm of the two sets. Thin steel heats fast and is light; thicker steel resists denting, holds its round shape and spreads heat more evenly. A band that keeps its shape meets its base more consistently, which is the one link between material and leaks that the listings support. Seven listings give no thickness at all.

Coating names and chemistry claims are not the same thing. Cuisinart names Whitford Xylan, which tells you the family of coating, and makes no chemistry claim. Farberware makes the broadest claim, without PFAS in the interior coating as designed, and does not name the coating. Nordic Ware rules out PFOA only. “Food-grade” and “no harsh chemicals” are not defined standards. If coating chemistry is your filter, Farberware is the only listing that answers it in writing.

Dark coatings brown faster than silver. Nine pans describe a black, charcoal, grey or champagne finish; Fat Daddio’s is silver with no coating named. Dark pans generally absorb more radiant heat, which can set the edge of a cheesecake sooner. Many recipes suggest lowering the oven slightly for a dark pan. That is general guidance; none of the listings addresses it.

A round cake topped with almonds in a dark pan
Three of ten listings give a metal thickness: 0.4mm twice, and 1mm once.

Oven Limit, Dishwasher and Warranty

The last three things a listing can promise are the ones you rely on after the purchase. Here they are side by side, in each listing’s words.

Pan Oven limit Dishwasher Warranty Pieces
MASSUGAR set 450°F Not stated Not stated 3 pans, sleeve, 50 liners, 3 scrapers
HIWARE 450°F Hand wash recommended Not stated 1 pan
Nordic Ware Not stated Not stated 10 Year Limited 1 pan (2-piece: band and base)
Cuisinart Not stated Dishwasher safe Lifetime 1 pan
Fat Daddio’s Not stated Not stated Lifetime 1 pan
Farberware 450°F Not stated Quality Assurance Guarantee 1 pan
Amazon Basics 428°F Dishwasher safe Not stated 1 pan
ZeroPone 450°F Hand wash only recommended Not stated 1 pan
FoxKnow 450°F Hand washing advised Not stated 1 pan
Petits Desserts set 450°F Hand wash and dry promptly Not stated 4 pans, tester, slicer

The oven limits cluster at 450°F, and the gaps fall on the pans with the most detail elsewhere. Six say 450°F. Amazon Basics says 428°F. Nordic Ware, Cuisinart and Fat Daddio’s, the three pans with the strongest warranties, give no figure. Cheesecake usually bakes far below any of these numbers, so the limit matters mainly if you use a springform for deep-dish pizza or a high-heat start.

Dishwasher claims are rare. Two pans say dishwasher safe, Cuisinart and Amazon Basics, and Amazon Basics still recommends hand washing for best results. Four ask for hand washing in some form. Four say nothing. On any coated pan, hand washing is the gentler routine, and drying promptly matters for carbon steel at any scratch or rolled seam. Dry it on a rack; our cooling rack roundup covers racks wide enough for a 9 or 10-inch pan.

Warranties line up with brands, not with leak claims. Nordic Ware’s 10-year limited warranty, and lifetime terms from Cuisinart and Fat Daddio’s, are the only terms on the page. Farberware names a guarantee without terms. Neither pan that claims leakproof gives a warranty. If you want recourse when a latch weakens or a band bends, the warranty is the one place a listing commits to it.

Model Numbers, and Two Pairs That Read Alike

We compared every model and part number on the page: H9BZ, ZP-SFP-9inch, 55742AMZ, Ma-pan protector, FK-SP-9inch, LSF1006, 52108, PSF-93, PD-CP-005 and AMB-9SPCH. All ten are different, and no two listings share a model. Two pairs are still worth setting side by side, because their specifications read almost the same.

ZeroPone and FoxKnow are twins on paper. Same size, same depth, same metal, same 450°F limit, a textured base described for even heating in both, and hand washing in both. Their model numbers follow the same pattern but are different numbers, and their listed weights differ. We cannot say from the listings that they are the same pan. We can say that rank, weight and seller are the only things the listings give you to choose between them.

The two sets share a steel figure and an oven limit, and differ on the joint. Both are 0.4mm steel rated to 450°F, with a 4, 7 and 9-inch pan in common. MASSUGAR adds a silicone sleeve for water baths; Petits Desserts adds an 11-inch pan and two tools. If leaks are your concern, the sleeve is the deciding difference.

Popularity Does Not Follow the Detail

Best Sellers Rank is the only popularity measure captured. Set against how much each listing tells you, it runs almost backwards.

Pan Overall rank Springform rank Leak claim explained Warranty
HIWARE #612 #1 No (claim unexplained) Not stated
ZeroPone #2,902 #2 No claim Not stated
Nordic Ware #3,016 #3 No claim 10 Year Limited
MASSUGAR set #6,963 #20 (#1 Ring Mold Pans) Yes: sleeve Not stated
FoxKnow #7,119 #5 No claim Not stated
Amazon Basics #7,226 #6 No claim Not stated

Fat Daddio’s #10,618 #9 No claim Lifetime
Petits Desserts set #10,899 #10 No claim Not stated
Cuisinart #13,113 #38 No claim Lifetime

The best seller is the least specific about its main claim. HIWARE ranks #612 overall, nearly five times better than ZeroPone in second, and it does not name its material or explain its leakproof word. Cuisinart, with the most solidly described build and a lifetime warranty, ranks last. MASSUGAR is filed in two categories and sits #20 in Springform but #1 in Ring Mold Pans, so its overall rank reflects more than springform shoppers. Rank tells you what people buy, not what the listing promises; read the promises yourself.

Best Alternatives

Alternative Why Consider It Better For Main Trade-Off
Fixed-base round cake pan No joint, so nothing to leak in a water bath Layer cakes and sponges that turn out easily A cheesecake has to be inverted or lifted on a parchment sling
Push-out-base tart tin Loose base without a latch; fluted sides Tarts and shallow quiches Low walls; leaks easily in a water bath
Silicone cake mould One piece and flexible, so no joint Mousse cakes and no-bake desserts Floppy to move when full; less browning
Cake ring on a lined sheet Bottomless ring for set or chilled desserts Entremets and no-bake cheesecake Not watertight; no base at all

A fixed-base pan from our cake pan roundup avoids the joint altogether, at the cost of a harder release. A ring on a lined sheet suits chilled desserts; a silicone baking mat guide under it keeps the base flat and easy to slide. And if you are mixing a cheesecake batter by hand, the size of your bowl matters more than you might think; our mixing bowl guide covers capacity.

What Each Step Up Actually Buys

From a budget 9-inch to a measured one. FoxKnow and ZeroPone state a 9 by 2.6-inch size, carbon steel and 450°F. Nordic Ware adds half an inch of wall, an interior diameter, a capacity and a 10-year limited warranty, and drops the oven figure. That is the step from a pan you can size to one you can plan a recipe around.

From coated thin steel to stated thick steel. The 0.4mm sets and the unmeasured pans give way to Cuisinart’s 1mm aluminized steel, a named coating inside and out, rolled edges, dishwasher safety and a lifetime warranty. What you give up is a stated oven limit and some wall height.

From a single pan to a set. Petits Desserts buys you four sizes and two tools. MASSUGAR buys three sizes and the only leak defence on the page. Neither gives a warranty, and both describe their height with one figure for every pan.

From nothing about leaks to something. Only one step on this page buys you a written answer to the leak question, and it is MASSUGAR’s sleeve. Everything else, including the most solidly described builds, still leaves the joint to foil. If you also bake on flat trays, our sheet pan roundup is the place to start.

What to Check Before You Buy

Ask What Makes It Leakproof

A leakproof claim is only useful if the listing says how. Look for a named mechanism: a gasket, a sealed or grooved base, or an accessory such as a silicone sleeve. On this page, one listing names one. If the claim stands alone in a title, treat the pan like any other springform and plan to wrap it.

Plan on Foil for Any Water Bath

As general guidance, wrap the base and lower sides in foil before a water bath: wide enough to come up the sides in one piece, with no seam below the waterline. It is the defence that works for all ten pans here. A sleeve sold for the purpose is an alternative only for the pan it fits.

Read the Height From the Copy, Not the Spec Table

Four listings state a wall height in the title or bullets. The rest rely on spec-table fields that may measure the box, the latch or a base lip, or may have swapped height and width. Use a stated depth to match a recipe, and treat a spec-table height as approximate.

Check Whether the Diameter Is Inside or Out

Only Nordic Ware gives an interior diameter, 8.8 inches for a pan sold as 9. If you are fitting the pan inside a larger one for a water bath, or into a pressure cooker, measure for the outside figure, which runs up to 9.5 inches on the 9-inch pans here.

Match the Size to Your Recipes

A 10-inch pan has about 23% more base than a 9-inch, and an 11-inch about half as much again, by our arithmetic. Recipes for one size bake thinner and faster in a larger pan. Buy the size your recipes name, or a set that covers several.

Find the Oven Limit and the Care Line

Six pans state 450°F, one 428°F, and three none. Two say dishwasher safe, four ask for hand washing and four say nothing. If you want a ceiling or a dishwasher in writing, check before you buy, not after.

Look for a Warranty With a Term

Three listings give a warranty with a term: 10 years or lifetime. One gives a guarantee with no terms. Six give nothing. A latch and band take the most wear on a springform, and a warranty is the only written recourse if they fail.

Common Mistakes

  • Trusting leakproof in a title. HIWARE says leakproof and never says how; plan on foil exactly as for the eight pans that make no claim.
  • Assuming the sleeve covers every pan in a set. MASSUGAR’s size field reads like a 9.1-inch protector; its fit on the 4 and 7-inch pans is not stated.
  • Reading a spec-table height as the wall. Six of the ten heights come only from spec fields, and two spec tables here swap height and width.
  • Taking 9 inches as the inside. Nordic Ware’s 9-inch pan is 8.8 inches inside and 9.3 at the collar; others do not say.
  • Baking a 9-inch recipe in a 10-inch pan unchanged. The base is about 23% larger by our arithmetic, so the cake bakes thinner and faster.
  • Putting a metal springform in the microwave. ZeroPone’s listing mentions the microwave; a metal pan stays in the oven unless your microwave’s manual says otherwise.
  • Assuming a dishwasher is fine. Two of the ten say dishwasher safe; four ask for hand washing and four are silent.
  • Buying by rank alone. The best seller, #612 overall, names no material; the lowest-ranked pan gives 1mm steel and a lifetime warranty.

Who Should Buy Which

Buy the MASSUGAR set if you bake cheesecake in a water bath and want an alternative to foil. It is the only listing that says how it keeps water out, a silicone protector sleeve, and it adds 4 and 7-inch pans, 50 liners and three scrapers. Accept a 2.3-inch spec-table wall and no warranty, and keep foil for the smaller pans.

Buy the HIWARE if you want the best-selling 9-inch springform and will wrap it anyway. It ranks #612 overall and #1 in Springform, with a 450°F limit. Its leakproof word is unexplained and its material unnamed, so treat it like any other springform in a water bath.

Buy the Nordic Ware if you want the most fully measured pan. It gives the interior diameter, 8.8 inches, the tallest stated wall, 3.1 inches, a 10-cup capacity and a 10-year limited warranty, sold by Amazon.com. Accept no oven limit and no care line in the listing.

Buy the Cuisinart if build and warranty come first. 1mm aluminized steel, a named Whitford Xylan coating inside and out, dishwasher safe and a lifetime warranty. Accept that it gives no oven limit and ranks lowest on the page.

Buy the Fat Daddio’s if you want a plain 9 by 3-inch pan with a lifetime warranty. The height is in the title. Everything else, material, coating, oven and care, you will need from the packaging.

Buy the Farberware if a PFAS-free coating is your first filter. It is the only listing that says made without PFAS, for the interior coating, with a 450°F limit. Accept an unnamed material and a guarantee without terms.

Buy the Amazon Basics if your recipes are written for 10 inches. It is the only single 10-inch pan, carbon steel and dishwasher safe. Accept the lowest stated oven limit, 428°F, and no warranty.

Buy the ZeroPone if you want a popular 9-inch pan with its size in writing. 9 by 2.6 inches, a honeycomb base and 450°F, ranked #2 in Springform. Hand wash it, and ignore the microwave line.

Buy the FoxKnow if budget comes first. It was the lowest-priced pan at capture, with a stated 9 by 2.6-inch size, a textured base and 450°F. On paper it matches the ZeroPone almost line for line.

Buy the Petits Desserts set if you bake across sizes. 4, 7, 9 and 11-inch pans in 0.4 mm steel, rated to 450°F, with a tester and slicer. It has no leak defence, so foil-wrap every pan you put in water.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best springform pan?

For most bakers, the Nordic Ware 9-Inch Springform Pan. It is the most fully measured listing of the ten here: it states an interior diameter of 8.8 inches, a collar of 9.3 inches, a 3.1-inch wall, the tallest stated on the page, and a 10-cup capacity, the only capacity given. It is carbon steel with a nonstick coating made without PFOA, carries a 10-year limited warranty and is sold by Amazon.com. Its gaps are an oven limit and care instructions, neither of which the listing gives, and it makes no leakproof claim. If you bake in a water bath and want an alternative to foil, the MASSUGAR set is the only listing that explains how it keeps water out, with a silicone sleeve. If build quality comes first, the Cuisinart states 1mm aluminized steel, a named coating, dishwasher safety and a lifetime warranty.

What is the best cheesecake pan?

A cheesecake pan is almost always a springform, because a set cheesecake cannot be turned out of a fixed pan without damage. For a classic baked cheesecake, look for a 9-inch pan with a tall wall and a plan for the water bath. On this page the Nordic Ware has the tallest stated wall at 3.1 inches and Fat Daddio’s states 3 inches in its title, which suits deep New York-style recipes. The MASSUGAR set is the only one that includes something for the water bath, a silicone protector sleeve, along with 4 and 7-inch pans for minis and pressure-cooker cheesecakes. Whichever pan you choose, a parchment circle on the base makes it easier to slide the finished cake onto a plate, and letting the cake cool before you open the latch helps the sides come away cleanly.

What is the best leakproof springform pan?

Of the ten listings here, two use the word leakproof, and only one says how. MASSUGAR’s set includes a reusable food-grade silicone protector that, in the listing’s words, locks in batter and keeps water out, and it promises no more foil wrapping. Note that the claim belongs to the sleeve, not the pans, and the listing does not say whether the sleeve fits its 4 and 7-inch pans. HIWARE puts leakproof in its title next to the removable bottom, but none of its bullets explains what makes it so. No listing on the page describes a gasket, a sealed base or a glass base. In practice, that means foil is still the dependable defence for a water bath: wrap the base and lower sides before the pan goes in, with no seam below the waterline. That is general guidance, not a listing claim.

What is the best 9 inch springform pan?

Seven of the ten pans here are single 9-inch springforms, and two sets include a 9-inch pan. Among the singles, the Nordic Ware is the most fully described: 8.8 inches inside, 3.1 inches tall, 10 cups and a 10-year limited warranty. The Cuisinart is the most solidly built on paper, with 1mm aluminized steel, a Whitford Xylan coating, dishwasher safety and a lifetime warranty, though it gives no oven limit. The HIWARE is the best seller, #612 overall, but does not name its material or explain its leakproof claim. ZeroPone and FoxKnow both state 9 by 2.6 inches, carbon steel, a textured base and 450°F, and read almost identically. Fat Daddio’s gives 9 by 3 inches and a lifetime warranty and little else. Farberware is the one to choose if you want a coating sold as made without PFAS.

How do I stop a springform pan leaking in a water bath?

As general guidance, wrap the outside of the pan in foil before it goes into the water. Use a sheet wide enough to come up the sides in one piece, or two sheets overlapped at right angles, and press it close to the band so there is no seam below the waterline. Some bakers use two layers. Set the wrapped pan in a roasting tin, pour hot water around it to about halfway up the sides, and keep the water level below the top of the foil. A silicone sleeve sold for the purpose, like the one in the MASSUGAR set, is an alternative for the pan it fits. You can also set the springform inside a slightly larger solid pan. Steam can still condense inside a wrap, so a parchment circle on the base helps. None of the other nine listings here offers a leak defence.

Should I buy a 9 inch or 10 inch springform pan?

Buy the size your recipes are written for. Most cheesecake recipes call for a 9-inch springform, which is why seven of the ten pans here are 9-inch singles. A 10-inch pan covers about 78.5 square inches against about 63.6 for a 9-inch, by our arithmetic, which is about 23% more base. A 9-inch recipe poured into a 10-inch pan comes out roughly a fifth thinner and bakes faster, so you would need to scale the recipe up by about a quarter or shorten the time. The Amazon Basics is the only single 10-inch pan on the page, with a 2.95-inch spec-table height and a 428°F limit. If you want both options, the Petits Desserts set covers 4, 7, 9 and 11 inches, and the MASSUGAR set 4, 7 and 9 inches.

Can springform pans go in the dishwasher?

Only two of the ten listings here say so. The Cuisinart is described as dishwasher safe, and the Amazon Basics says dishwasher safe while still recommending hand washing with warm water and mild soap for best results. Four listings ask for hand washing in some form: HIWARE recommends it, ZeroPone says hand wash only is recommended, FoxKnow says hand washing helps maintain the coating, and Petits Desserts says hand wash and dry promptly. Nordic Ware, Farberware and Fat Daddio’s say nothing either way, and MASSUGAR mentions only a quick rinse. Even where a dishwasher claim exists, hand washing is the gentler routine for any nonstick coating, and drying promptly matters for carbon steel, which can rust at a scratch, at the rolled rim or around the latch. Dry the band and base separately before you put the pan away.

Does it matter what a springform pan is made of?

It matters for how long the pan stays round and how evenly it bakes, and most listings say less than you would want. Five of the ten name carbon steel, and Petits Desserts says steel. Cuisinart says 1mm aluminized steel, the thickest stated on the page; MASSUGAR and Petits Desserts state 0.4mm. HIWARE, Farberware and Fat Daddio’s do not name a material at all. Thicker metal resists denting and warping, which keeps the band meeting the base cleanly. The coating matters too: dark nonstick finishes generally brown faster than a light silver pan, and many recipes suggest lowering the oven slightly for a dark pan. If coating chemistry concerns you, Farberware is the only listing that says its interior coating is made without PFAS; Nordic Ware says without PFOA, and Cuisinart names Whitford Xylan.

Final Verdict

Best OverallNordic Ware 9-Inch Springform Pan

The tallest stated wall, 3.1 inches, the only interior size and capacity, and a 10-year limited warranty.

Best for Water BathsMASSUGAR 4, 7 and 9 Inch Set with Protector

The only listing that explains its leakproof claim: a silicone sleeve, with three sizes in 0.4mm steel.

Best PremiumCuisinart Chef’s Classic 9-Inch Springform

1mm aluminized steel, a named Whitford Xylan coating, dishwasher safe and a lifetime warranty.

A springform pan leaks where the band meets the base, and nine of these ten listings never tell you how theirs deals with it. Eight say nothing. HIWARE, the best seller at #612 overall, says leakproof in its title and nowhere explains it. No listing describes a gasket, a sealed base or a glass base.

The one explained claim is an accessory. MASSUGAR’s silicone protector is sold to lock in batter and keep water out, and it is the only leak defence on the page you can name. It belongs to the sleeve, not the pans, and its fit on the smaller pans is not stated.

So choose a springform on what can be compared, and wrap it. Look for a stated wall height in the listing copy rather than the spec table, an interior diameter if you can find one, a material and thickness, an oven limit, a care line and a warranty with a term. Then, as general guidance, wrap the base in foil for any water bath, whatever the title says.

If you buy one springform from this page, make it the Nordic Ware 9-Inch: the tallest stated wall at 3.1 inches, the only interior size and capacity, carbon steel with a PFOA-free coating, a 10-year limited warranty and sold by Amazon.com. If water baths are the reason you are buying, the MASSUGAR set is the only one with a sleeve; if build comes first, the Cuisinart states 1mm steel and a lifetime warranty.
