A 3-in-1 waffle maker is one hinged body and three sets of plates: one for waffles, one for sealed sandwiches and one ridged for grilling or paninis. You cook on one set at a time. The other two sets live somewhere else in your kitchen, and every one of them has to be washed, dried and put away. That is the trade this whole category asks you to make, and it is the thing the listings say least about.
Start with what they do agree on. All ten listings on this page say the plates come out. The words vary, “removable”, “detachable”, “interchangeable”, “snap in”, “unlock and swap”, but on a 3-in-1 machine that is the price of entry, because a plate you cannot remove is a plate you cannot change.
After that, the listings split. Seven say the plates are dishwasher-safe: OSTBA, BLACK+DECKER, OVENTE, Reemix, Baker’s Friend, SUNVIVIPRO and the unbranded SUNVIVI sandwich maker. Three do not. Amazon Basics says nothing about a dishwasher. Aigostar says to “wipe them clean with a damp cloth”. AROMA says to “Unlock and lift off the removable plates for quick cleanup in the sink.”
The coatings split too. Two listings name a ceramic coating, Amazon Basics and AROMA, and only AROMA adds “(PFAS-free!)”. One, Aigostar, names “non-stick/teflon”. The other seven say non-stick and stop there. Notice the overlap: both ceramic listings are among the three that do not claim dishwasher-safe plates.
And then the silence. Not one of the ten says where the two plate sets you are not using should go. There is no stated storage case, rack, sleeve or slot for spare plates on any listing. Three listings, OSTBA, Amazon Basics and Aigostar, say the body stores upright. None says the same about the plates. If you count an upper and a lower plate for each function, which is how a clamshell press works and which BLACK+DECKER’s own instruction to “Securely attach both cooking plates” confirms, a 3-in-1 machine is six loose plates of coated metal, by our reading, and four of them are off the machine at any one time.
Waffle depth and power are thinner still. Three listings call the waffle plate Belgian: Amazon Basics, Baker’s Friend and the SUNVIVI. AROMA calls its waffle “classic”. None gives a depth in inches. Seven state a wattage, between 750W and 800W, and three, BLACK+DECKER, Baker’s Friend and AROMA, state none. Nobody states that the hinge opens flat to make a griddle; BLACK+DECKER says the opposite, “Always operate the unit in the closed position.”
So this guide sorts the ten by what the plates will ask of you: whether the listing says they go in the dishwasher, what coating it names, what the waffle plate is called, and what it says about storage. Wattage and Best Sellers Rank come after. Star ratings and review counts were not captured for this roundup; popularity below is Amazon’s Best Sellers Rank only.
All ten were captured on 5 October 2026. Their overall Best Sellers Ranks run from #2,246 to #185,324, and Amazon files exactly half of them as sandwich makers and half as waffle irons.

Best Sellers Ranks and specifications are taken from each manufacturer’s Amazon listing as displayed on 5 October 2026 through a United States connection, and may change. Every claim above is as each listing words it. “Not stated” means the listing does not say, not that the feature is absent. Aigostar and AROMA give a cleaning method that is not the dishwasher, wiping and the sink, and we record that rather than read it as a ban. Coatings are recorded in the listing’s own terms: seven say only “non-stick” and do not name the chemistry. Wattage is as stated; BLACK+DECKER, Baker’s Friend and AROMA state none. Five of the ten are ranked by Amazon in Sandwich Makers & Panini Presses and five in Waffle Irons, so category ranks are not comparable across the two groups; the overall ranks shown are. Ranks are as returned on 5 October 2026. Five were sold by Amazon.com at capture; the others by Woot, Supersaver, shiny Store, Baker’s Friend USA and Aigostar US. Star ratings and review counts were not captured for any product here.

How We Chose These Ten
We researched current listings, compared manufacturer specifications and documentation, and read each listing’s claims about its plates line by line: how they come off, how they are cleaned, what they are coated with, and what each one is for. We did not carry out hands-on testing, and nothing below is presented as measured performance data. Star ratings and review counts were not captured for this roundup. We used Amazon Best Sellers Rank, buy-box stock and listing specifications instead, and nothing on this page describes or implies how owners have scored these machines.
- 3-in-1 machines only — every product here is a single electric body sold with three interchangeable plate sets, one of them a waffle plate. Single-function waffle irons, flip waffle makers and two-plate grills were not in the running.
- New units only — every buy box here was a new product at capture.
- Plate claims counted, not assumed — a plate is logged as removable, dishwasher-safe or ceramic only where the listing says so in words. A listing that offers a damp cloth or a sink is logged as such, and not marked dishwasher-safe.
- Coatings in the listing’s terms — “ceramic-coated”, “non-stick/teflon” or plain “non-stick”, exactly as written. We do not guess the chemistry behind an unnamed non-stick coating.
- Waffle depth only where stated — a waffle plate is called Belgian on this page only where the listing calls it Belgian. None gives a depth in inches.
- Wattage and plate count from the pack — power is quoted as stated, and three listings that state none are marked so. Where a listing states a number of plates or plate sets, we quote it.
- Popularity from Best Sellers Rank only — ranks are quoted exactly as returned on 5 October 2026, overall and in the category Amazon assigned. Amazon splits these ten evenly between two categories.
- Verified stock and seller — each product was the buy-box offer and in stock on amazon.com on 5 October 2026.

The Ten 3-in-1 Waffle Makers in Detail
1. OSTBA 3-in-1 Waffle Maker with Removable Plates, Sandwich Maker (ABS06) — Best Overall

The best-ranked 3-in-1 machine on the page, with dishwasher-safe plates and the only warning about the latch.
Key Specifications

|---|---|
| Removable | Yes, “Removable Non-Stick Plates” |
| Dishwasher-safe | Yes, stated |
| Coating | Food-safe non-stick, as stated |
| Waffle plate | Depth not stated; “fluffy waffles” |
| Power | 750W, double-sided heating |
| Storage | “Upright storage-friendly design” |
| Dimensions as listed | 8.46 H x 3.97 L x 9.33 W in |
| Listed weight | 5.1 pounds |
| Warranty | 1 year, stated |
| Seller | Amazon.com |
| Best Sellers Rank | #2,246 overall; #10 in Sandwich Makers & Panini Presses |
Why We Recommend It
This is the 3-in-1 machine shoppers are buying most. At #2,246 overall and #10 in Sandwich Makers & Panini Presses, the OSTBA holds the best overall rank on the page by a wide margin. The next best, Amazon Basics, sits at #4,456, and everything else is below #11,000. Amazon files it with sandwich makers, not waffle irons, which tells you how it is being shopped: as a breakfast sandwich press that also does waffles and a grill.
It answers the two plate questions that matter. The second bullet says it in one line: “Removable Non-Stick Plates: Each plate features a food-safe non-stick coating for effortless food release and easy cleanup. Dishwasher safe and simple to swap out.” That puts it among the seven listings on the page that claim dishwasher-safe plates, and the phrase “Each plate” covers the whole set, not just the waffle plate. The coating is called “food-safe non-stick”; the listing does not say whether that is ceramic or PTFE, so if the chemistry matters to you, ask before you buy, or look at the two ceramic listings below.
The three plates are named plainly. “Comes with interchangeable plates for sandwiches, waffles, and grilling.” The suggested foods are the usual spread, “breakfast sandwiches, grilled cheese, crispy bacon, fluffy waffles, and juicy steak”. The listing does not call the waffle plate Belgian, and it gives no depth, so read “fluffy” as a description of texture, not of plate depth. Power is 750W with “double-sided heating”, the same wattage as four other machines here.
It is the only listing that warns you about its own latch. “Usage Tips: Avoid overfilling the sandwich press to prevent latch damage. The outer surface gets hot during use—handle with care and avoid direct contact.” That is unusually frank. A 3-in-1 press closes over a sealed sandwich plate, and a thick filling pushes back against the catch. Read it as advice that applies to every machine on this page, not as a weakness peculiar to this one; OSTBA is just the one that wrote it down.
Storage is half answered. The listing says “Compact and upright storage-friendly design fits easily in any kitchen.” The dimensions, as listed, are 8.46 inches high, 3.97 inches long and 9.33 inches wide, which reads like a body standing on its edge. That covers the machine. Like every other listing here, it says nothing about where the two plate sets you are not using should live. With a cool-touch handle and anti-slip feet, it is a straightforward machine. No indicator lights are mentioned, which makes it one of only two listings here, with AROMA, that do not describe a ready light.
What to weigh. It is sold by Amazon.com, carries a stated 1-year warranty with a support email, and lists 5.1 pounds. It does not state a ready light, a waffle depth or a coating chemistry. If you want a 3-in-1 press whose plates go in the dishwasher and whose popularity is not in doubt, it is the safest choice on the page.
Pros
- Best rank on the page, #2,246 overall
- Removable plates, dishwasher-safe, stated for each plate
- 750W with double-sided heating
- Upright storage stated
- Sold by Amazon.com, 1-year warranty
- Honest latch and hot-surface warning
Cons
- Coating chemistry not named
- No indicator light described
- Waffle plate depth not stated
- No storage stated for spare plates
- Latch can be damaged by overfilling, per listing
- Outer surface gets hot, per listing
Best for: A buyer who wants dishwasher-safe plates on the most-bought 3-in-1 machine here.
2. Amazon Basics 3-in-1 Sandwich Maker, Panini Press and Waffle Maker, Ceramic-Coated Plates, 760W (AB-081MNA) — Best Ceramic Plates

One of only two ceramic-coated 3-in-1 machines here, with a Belgian waffle plate stated, and silent on the dishwasher.
Key Specifications
| Plates | Belgian waffle, grilled sandwich, pressed panini |
|---|---|
| Removable | Yes, “Removable Ceramic-Coated Plates” |
| Dishwasher-safe | Not stated |
| Coating | Ceramic-coated, “without harmful chemicals” |
| Waffle plate | Belgian, stated |
| Power | 760W |
| Lights and lid | Power and Ready lights; locking lid |
| Storage | “Space-saving vertical storage capability” |
| Dimensions | 9 x 9 x 4 in (bullet); 9.2 L x 9.3 W x 3.9 H in (spec table) |
| Listed weight | 4.54 pounds |
| Warranty | Not stated |
| Best Sellers Rank | #4,456 overall; #16 in Sandwich Makers & Panini Presses |
Why We Recommend It
This is the best-ranked machine with a named ceramic coating. At #4,456 overall and #16 in Sandwich Makers & Panini Presses, it is second only to the OSTBA on the page. The second bullet sets out the case: “NONSTICK: ceramic-coated plates provide safer cooking, ensuring effortless food release and easy cleanup without harmful chemicals”. Only AROMA, far down the ranks at #37,708, also names ceramic. If the coating is the reason you are reading, this is where to start, and our non-toxic waffle maker guide goes further into what “ceramic” does and does not promise.
It is also one of three listings that call the waffle plate Belgian. “3-in-1 appliance makes Belgian waffles, grilled sandwiches, and pressed paninis with interchangeable plates; 760 watts of power for fast heating”. Belgian implies a deeper grid than a classic waffle, though, like every listing here, this one gives no depth figure. Note the three plate names: waffle, sandwich and panini. The panini plate does the grilling job that other listings give to a “grill” plate.
What it does not say is the dishwasher. The listing says the plates are removable and that cleanup is easy. It does not say the plates go in a dishwasher, and it does not say they do not. That puts it with Aigostar and AROMA as the three of ten without a dishwasher claim. Ceramic coatings are often sold with hand-washing advice, and the two ceramic listings here are both among the three without a dishwasher claim. Treat the plates as hand-wash until Amazon says otherwise, which means three sets of plates, six coated surfaces by our reading, to wash at the sink over time.
It is built for a cupboard. “MODERN DESIGN: Stylish stainless steel decoration complements any kitchen; space-saving vertical storage capability”. The lid locks, and there are “Indicator lights for Power and Ready” and a cool-touch handle. As with every listing, the vertical storage refers to the body. Where the other two plate sets go is up to you.
Two size figures do not quite agree. The fifth bullet gives the product as 9 x 9 x 4 inches. The spec table gives 9.2 by 9.3 by 3.9 inches. Those are close enough to be rounding. The Size field, though, calls them “9 x 9 inch Plates”, which would make the plates as big as the whole machine. One of the two figures is loose; the listing does not say which. The listed weight, 4.54 pounds, is the second-lightest stated on the page, after the AROMA.
What to weigh. It is sold by Amazon.com, released in September 2025 by its release-date field, and states no warranty. You get ceramic, a Belgian label, 760W and a locking lid, at the cost of a dishwasher claim. If you want ceramic plates and can live with hand-washing, this is the strongest listing here.
Pros
- Ceramic-coated plates, stated
- Belgian waffle plate, stated
- 760W
- Locking lid; Power and Ready lights
- Vertical storage stated
- Second-best rank here, #4,456 overall
Cons
- Dishwasher use not stated
- No warranty stated
- Size field and bullet disagree on plate size
- No waffle depth figure
- No storage stated for spare plates
- PFAS-free not claimed in those words
Best for: A buyer who wants ceramic plates and a Belgian waffle label, and is happy to hand-wash.
3. BLACK+DECKER 3-in-1 Waffle Iron, Grill and Sandwich Press, WM2000SD — Best Established Brand

The clearest instructions on the page, dishwasher-safe plates, and no wattage at all.
Key Specifications
| Plates | Waffle, grill and sandwich; snap in |
|---|---|
| Removable | Yes, “Non-Stick Removable Plates” |
| Dishwasher-safe | Yes, stated |
| Coating | Non-stick |
| Waffle plate | Depth not stated |
| Power | Not stated |
| Ready light | Green; cycles with the thermostat |
| Opens flat | Not stated; “Always operate the unit in the closed position” |
| Dimensions as listed | 9.0 x 9.0 x 4.0 in |
| Listed weight | 6.2 pounds |
| Seller | Amazon.com |
| Best Sellers Rank | #14,770 overall; #30 in Waffle Irons |
Why We Recommend It
This listing reads like a manual. Where most 3-in-1 listings sell, BLACK+DECKER instructs. The first bullet: “Waffle, grill, and sandwich plates snap in easily. Securely attach both cooking plates while the appliance is cool, then close the lid before plugging it in.” Two things follow. You change plates cold, so a breakfast of waffles then sandwiches means a cooling pause in between. And “both cooking plates” confirms that each function is an upper and a lower plate, which is why we count six plate pieces on a 3-in-1 machine.
The plates go in the dishwasher, with conditions. “Removable nonstick plates help food release and are dishwasher-safe for easy cleanup. Avoid metal utensils, abrasive cleaners, and aerosol cooking sprays to help protect the coating.” That is one of seven dishwasher claims on the page, and the only one that tells you what will harm the coating. The aerosol warning is worth noting, because AROMA’s listing recommends the opposite, “a light spray of oil”. Follow the instructions for the machine you buy.
Its ready light is described properly. “The green ready light illuminates when the correct cooking temperature is reached and cycles on and off with the thermostat during use. Wait for the green light before adding food.” That tells you there is a thermostat, and that the light will go off and on as it works. Compare Reemix, whose green light does the reverse: it turns off when the machine reaches temperature. Green does not mean the same thing on every machine here.
It does not open flat. Some buyers expect a waffle maker that doubles as a griddle. This listing rules that out in plain words: “Always operate the unit in the closed position on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface.” None of the ten listings on this page states that its hinge opens flat, so if a flat griddle is what you want, our griddle waffle maker guide covers machines built for it.
The missing number is power. The listing gives no wattage anywhere, in the title, bullets or spec table. Seven of the ten here state one; BLACK+DECKER, Baker’s Friend and AROMA do not. The listed weight, 6.2 pounds, is the heaviest stated on the page, and the dimensions, 9 by 9 by 4 inches, describe a machine lying flat. The bullet says “The stainless-steel finish and removable plates make cooking, cleanup, and storage simple”, but like every listing it names no place for the spare plates.
What to weigh. It is sold by Amazon.com and ranks #14,770 overall and #30 in Waffle Irons. Its release-date field says April 2019, so it has been on sale longer than most here. The warranty line sends you to the manufacturer’s website. If you value clear instructions and a dishwasher claim over a stated wattage, it is the most carefully documented machine in the group.
Pros
- Dishwasher-safe plates, stated
- Ready light cycles with a thermostat, stated
- Clearest care rules on the page
- Plates snap in
- Sold by Amazon.com
- Stainless-steel finish
Cons
- No wattage stated
- Plates must be changed cool
- Must operate closed; no flat opening
- Heaviest stated, 6.2 lb
- No aerosol sprays, per listing
- Warranty only by reference to website
Best for: A buyer who wants a known brand, dishwasher-safe plates and clear care instructions.
4. OVENTE 3 in 1 Electric Sandwich Maker, 750W Non-Stick Plates, GPI302B — Best Budget

A budget 3-in-1 that names its three plates and says they go in the dishwasher.
Key Specifications
| Plates | 3 interchangeable: sandwich, waffle and grill |
|---|---|
| Removable | Yes, “detachable” |
| Dishwasher-safe | Yes, stated |
| Coating | Non-stick |
| Waffle plate | Depth not stated |
| Power | 750W (120V) |
| Lights | LED power and ready |
| Dimensions as listed | 9.25 H x 9.5 L x 3.9 W in |
| Listed weight | 5.0 pounds |
| Warranty | 1 year, stated |
| Seller | Supersaver |
| Best Sellers Rank | #14,528 overall; #25 in Sandwich Makers & Panini Presses |
Why We Recommend It
It is one of four listings that give the plate count as a number. “Comes with 3 interchangeable plates (sandwich, waffle, and grill plates).” SUNVIVI, Reemix and Baker’s Friend also put a figure on it. That sounds like a small thing, but it is the only way to be sure what is in the box, and OVENTE names each one.
It claims the dishwasher and offers the cloth. “The plates are detachable and even dishwasher safe or you can simply wipe them with a damp cloth once they’ve cooled.” That makes it one of seven dishwasher claims here. The coating is described only as non-stick, with no ceramic or PTFE named. For a budget machine, that is the core of what you need: plates that come out and a stated place to wash them.
Power is stated with the voltage. “High performance powered by 750 Watts (120V)”. That is the most common figure on the page; five of the seven machines that state a wattage say 750W. The LED lights “let you know when the power is on and the plates are ready for cooking”, and there is a cool-touch handle and “anti-skid feet”.
Storage gets a sentence. “It can be easily stored in a cabinet or on a shelf when not in use.” The listed dimensions, 9.25 inches high, 9.5 inches long and 3.9 inches wide, describe a narrow body, and the Size field says “2-Slice”. As with all ten, the listing does not say where the spare plates go, and with three named sets, that is two sets in the cupboard beside it.
What to weigh. It is sold by Supersaver, not Amazon.com, at capture. It ranks #14,528 overall and #25 in Sandwich Makers & Panini Presses, close to BLACK+DECKER and Baker’s Friend. The warranty is clear: OVENTE warrants it “free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and conditions, for 1 year from the original purchase date.” The waffle plate is not called Belgian, and no depth is given. If you want the basics, three named plates, dishwasher use and a warranty, from a budget listing, this covers them.
Pros
- 3 named interchangeable plates
- Dishwasher-safe, stated
- 750W at 120V
- LED power and ready lights
- 1-year warranty, stated
- Cabinet or shelf storage stated
Cons
- Sold by a third-party seller at capture
- Coating chemistry not named
- Waffle plate depth not stated
- No storage stated for spare plates
- Mid-table rank, #14,528 overall
- Size field says only “2-Slice”
Best for: A budget buyer who wants three named, dishwasher-safe plates and a written warranty.
5. 3 in 1 Electric Sandwich Maker with Removable Nonstick Plates, 750W (SUNVIVI ZWF001BK) — Best Stated Timings

The only listing that says how long it takes to heat and to make a waffle, sold under a generic title.
Key Specifications
| Plates | 3 removable, stated; uses named in title: Belgian waffle, panini, grill, pancake griddle |
|---|---|
| Removable | Yes, stated |
| Dishwasher-safe | Yes, stated in title |
| Coating | Non-stick |
| Waffle plate | Belgian, stated |
| Power | 750W |
| Timings stated | Heats in 3-4 minutes; waffles in about 5 minutes |
| Lid | Tempered glass surface |
| Dimensions as listed | 9.01 H x 9.3 L x 3.75 W in |
| Listed weight | Not stated |
| Warranty | 1 year; ETL certified, stated |
| Best Sellers Rank | #11,617 overall; #24 in Waffle Irons |
Why We Recommend It
The title is generic; the spec table is not. The listing is sold as a “3 in 1 Electric Sandwich Maker with Removable Nonstick Plates” with no brand in the title. The spec table names the brand as SUNVIVI, the manufacturer as SUNVIVI OUTDOOR and the model as ZWF001BK. It is the third-best rank on the page, #11,617 overall and #24 in Waffle Irons.
It is the only listing that puts times on the job. “This panini press sandwich maker heats up in just 3-4 minutes and bakes crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside waffles in about 5 minutes.” No other listing here gives a heat-up time or a cook time. They are the seller’s figures, not measurements of ours, but they give you something to hold the machine to, and they are useful when planning a breakfast that runs through more than one plate set.
The plate count and the uses do not line up. The bullet says “equipped with 3 removable non stick plates”. The title lists “Belgian Waffle/Panini/Grill/Pancake Griddle/Breakfast”, four cooking uses for three plates. The listing does not say which plate does which job, or whether the pancake use runs on a flat plate or the waffle plate. Ask before you buy if you want a flat plate for pancakes; on this page, only Baker’s Friend names a pancake plate.
Dishwasher use is in the title. “Dishwasher Safe, Cool Touch Handle, Easy to Clean & Store”. That makes it one of seven. The coating is non-stick, unnamed. The lid is unusual: “Featuring a stylish tempered glass surface” that the listing suggests you write on “like a ‘blackboard’”. It is one of three listings to call its waffle plate Belgian, with the bullet adding “small belgian waffle maker”.
It shares its outline with the SUNVIVIPRO. The listed dimensions, 9.01 inches high, 9.3 inches long and 3.75 inches wide, are identical to those of the SUNVIVIPRO ZWF007 further down this page, and the model codes share the ZWF prefix. The listings do not say the two are related. The SUNVIVIPRO states 800W to this one’s 750W. Neither lists a weight.
What to weigh. It was sold by Woot at capture. The listing states “ETL certified, with a 1-year warranty”, red and green indicator lights and a temperature control that “prevents overheating”. If you want stated timings and a Belgian label with dishwasher-safe plates, this is the listing that gives both.
Pros
- Only stated heat-up and waffle times
- Dishwasher-safe, stated
- Belgian waffle plate, stated
- 750W
- ETL certified and 1-year warranty, stated
- Third-best rank, #11,617 overall
Cons
- Generic title; brand only in spec table
- Four uses named for three plates
- No weight stated
- Coating chemistry not named
- Sold by Woot at capture
- No storage stated for spare plates
Best for: A buyer who wants a Belgian label, stated timings and dishwasher-safe plates.
6. Baker’s Friend 3 in 1 Mini Waffle Maker with Removable Plates (BF-WPG01) — Best for Pancakes

The only 3-in-1 on the page that swaps the sandwich plate for a pancake plate.
Key Specifications
| Plates | Three sets: pancake, waffle and grill |
|---|---|
| Removable | Yes, stated |
| Dishwasher-safe | Yes, “disassemble the plates for dishwasher cleaning” |
| Coating | Non-stick |
| Waffle plate | Belgian, stated in title |
| Power | Not stated |
| Capacity | Two slices at once, stated |
| Dimensions as listed | 5.9 H x 10.63 L x 13.78 W in (rounded) |
| Listed weight | 5.5 pounds |
| Warranty | Not stated |
| Seller | Baker’s Friend USA |
| Best Sellers Rank | #14,625 overall; #44 in Waffle Irons |
Why We Recommend It
The plate line-up is different. Every other machine here pairs a waffle plate with some mix of sandwich, grill and panini plates. Baker’s Friend drops the sealed sandwich plate for a flat-cooking one: “There are three sets of plates that can be switched at will. The pancake plate can be used to make Pancake and fried eggs; the waffle plate can be used to make waffle desserts, and the grill plate can grill steak, pork chops and corn, Potatoes, tomatoes, vegetables, etc, can also be used to press panini.” If you want pancakes and eggs more than sealed pocket sandwiches, it is the only listing that names a plate for them.
“Three sets” is the plate count. Reemix uses the same word. A set, on a clamshell machine, is an upper and a lower plate, so this is six pieces to wash and put away, by our reading. The listing covers the washing: “Simply wipe the surface with a soft towel and rinse, or disassemble the plates for dishwasher cleaning.” That is one of seven dishwasher claims on the page.
“Mini” is relative. The title says “3 in 1 Mini Waffle Maker” and the bullets say “Designed for small kitchens, dorm rooms, offices”. The listed dimensions, though, are 13.78 inches wide, 10.63 inches long and 5.9 inches high, the largest stated outline on the page, and the listed weight, 5.5 pounds, is the second-heaviest. It does say it “can cook two slices simultaneously”. Whether the dimensions are the machine or its box, the listing does not say; for a cupboard plan, use the larger figure. If small is what you want, our mini waffle maker for chaffles guide covers machines that really are.
It calls the waffle plate Belgian, and states no power. The title ends “Belgian Waffle Maker, Aqua”, making this one of three listings with a Belgian label. There is no wattage anywhere in the listing, which puts it with BLACK+DECKER and AROMA. The bullets mention “double-sided heating”, indicator lights and a cool-touch handle, and claim the non-stick surface “eliminates the need for oil or butter”.
What to weigh. It is sold by Baker’s Friend USA and ranks #14,625 overall and #44 in Waffle Irons. No warranty is stated. The coating is described only as non-stick. If pancakes are on your list and sealed sandwiches are not, it is the one machine here built around that choice; accept that it is bigger than the word “mini” suggests and states no wattage.
Pros
- Only pancake plate on the page
- Three plate sets, stated
- Dishwasher cleaning, stated
- Belgian waffle plate, stated in title
- Two slices at once, stated
- Grill plate also presses panini
Cons
- No sealed sandwich plate
- No wattage stated
- Largest stated outline despite “Mini”
- Second-heaviest stated, 5.5 lb
- No warranty stated
- Coating chemistry not named
Best for: A buyer who wants pancakes and eggs from the same machine as waffles and grilling.
7. AROMA 3-in-1 Panini Press, Sandwich Grill and Waffle Maker, Ceramic Coated Plates (AWM-1210BL) — Most Compact

The only PFAS-free claim on the page, on the smallest and lightest machine, cleaned in the sink.
Key Specifications
| Plates | Waffle, sandwich press, panini press grill |
|---|---|
| Removable | Yes, “unlock and swap” |
| Dishwasher-safe | Not stated; “quick cleanup in the sink” |
| Coating | Ceramic-coated, “PFAS-free” |
| Waffle plate | “Classic waffle” |
| Power | Not stated |
| Size field | Small |
| Dimensions as listed | 7.5 L x 5.38 W x 3.5 H in |
| Listed weight | 1.69 pounds |
| Warranty | 1 Year Limited, stated |
| Seller | Amazon.com |
| Best Sellers Rank | #37,708 overall; #85 in Waffle Irons |
Why We Recommend It
This is the only listing that says PFAS-free. “NO MESS NONSTICK: Unlock and lift off the removable plates for quick cleanup in the sink. With a light spray of oil, waffles lift right off the ceramic-coated surface. (PFAS-free!)” Amazon Basics also names ceramic, but only AROMA puts PFAS-free in writing. If that is your deciding question, this is the one listing on the page that answers it directly.
The same bullet sends you to the sink. It does not mention a dishwasher, and the cleanup it describes is “quick cleanup in the sink”. With Amazon Basics and Aigostar, that makes three listings without a dishwasher claim, and two of those three are the ceramic ones. Small plates are easier to wash by hand, which helps here; the plates on a machine this size cannot be large.
It is by far the smallest machine listed. The listed dimensions are 7.5 by 5.38 by 3.5 inches, and the weight is 1.69 pounds, against 4.54 to 6.2 pounds for every other machine that states one. The Size field says “Small”. That makes it easy to store, plates and all, but the listing gives no plate size, and a machine of those outer dimensions will make a single small waffle or sandwich at a time.
The waffle is “classic”, not Belgian. “Treat yourself to a fluffy, classic waffle with golden color and the perfect texture. Aroma’s waffle maker preheats fast and cooks evenly with wrap-around heat.” It is the only listing here that uses “classic”, which usually means a shallower grid than Belgian; for deep pockets, our thick waffle maker roundup is the better guide. The plates are described as a waffle maker, a sandwich press and a “mini electric grill” that doubles as a panini press. They “unlock and swap”, which implies a plate lock, though the mechanism is not described.
What to weigh. It is sold by Amazon.com, carries a “1 Year Limited Warranty” and ranks #37,708 overall and #85 in Waffle Irons. It states no wattage and no indicator light; with OSTBA, it is one of two listings that do not describe a ready light. Note the oil advice: AROMA suggests a light spray, while BLACK+DECKER warns against aerosol sprays. If you want PFAS-free plates and the smallest footprint, accept a small machine and a sink.
Pros
- Only PFAS-free claim on the page
- Ceramic-coated plates, stated
- Lightest stated, 1.69 lb
- Smallest listed dimensions
- Sold by Amazon.com, 1-year limited warranty
- Plates unlock and swap
Cons
- Sink cleanup; dishwasher not stated
- No wattage stated
- No ready light described
- “Classic” waffle, not Belgian
- Plate size not stated
- Low rank, #37,708 overall
Best for: A buyer who wants PFAS-free ceramic plates on a small machine and will wash by hand.
8. Aigostar 3 in 1 Electric Sandwich Maker with Removable Non-stick Plates — Best Cord Storage

The only listing that names Teflon, and the only one that mentions storing the cord.
Key Specifications
| Plates | Panini, grilling and waffle, detachable |
|---|---|
| Removable | Yes, stated |
| Dishwasher-safe | Not stated; wipe with a damp cloth |
| Coating | “Non-stick/teflon” |
| Waffle plate | Depth not stated; “fluffy waffles” |
| Power | 750W (120V) |
| Lights | Red power, green preheat |
| Storage | Upright; locks shut; cord storage |
| Dimensions as listed | 4.02 H x 8.9 L x 9.29 W in (rounded) |
| Listed weight | 4.6 pounds |
| Seller | Aigostar US |
| Best Sellers Rank | #19,746 overall; #33 in Sandwich Makers & Panini Presses |
Why We Recommend It
This is the only listing that names its coating’s chemistry as PTFE. “Thanks to the non-stick/teflon cooking surface, the waffle maker 3 in 1 with removable plates makes cleanup a breeze.” Teflon is a brand of PTFE non-stick. Seven listings here say non-stick and leave it there; Aigostar is the one that tells you which kind. Whether that is a reason to buy or to skip depends on your view of PTFE, which our non-toxic waffle maker guide sets out; either way, you know.
It offers a cloth, not a dishwasher. The same bullet goes on: “No oil or butter needed makes for healthier eating and easy cleanup – simply wipe them clean with a damp cloth once the waffle iron cooled”. There is no dishwasher claim. With Amazon Basics and AROMA, that makes three of ten. Three sets of plates wiped by hand is the plan this listing describes.
It is the only listing that thinks about the cord. “The electric sandwich press is ideal for small kitchen spaces, dorm rooms, offices, and even RV trips! It locks shut and has a collectable cord.” The bullet title also says “Compact Size and Upright Storage”. So the body locks, stands upright and keeps its cord tidy. It is still silent on the spare plates, like everyone else, but it has thought harder about storage than any other listing here.
The plates are named for paninis, grilling and waffles. “With detachable plates for paninis, grilling, and waffles.” There is no separate sealed sandwich plate named, though the bullets mention a “hot sandwich” and “pocket sandwiches”. One field is odd: the part-number field reads “Reversible Grill Griddle Plates”, which the bullets never mention or explain. Do not buy it expecting reversible plates on that field alone.
Power and lights are clear. “Powered by 120V and 750W”, with “a red power light and a green preheat light” and a cool-touch handle. The listed dimensions, 4.02 by 8.9 by 9.29 inches, describe a machine lying flat, and the listed weight is 4.6 pounds.
What to weigh. It is sold by Aigostar US and ranks #19,746 overall and #33 in Sandwich Makers & Panini Presses. No warranty is stated. If you want the tidiest storage story on the page and you are content with a named PTFE coating and hand-wiping, it is the one to look at.
Pros
- Only listing to name its coating, Teflon
- Only stated cord storage
- Locks shut; upright storage stated
- 750W at 120V
- Red power and green preheat lights
- Listed weight 4.6 lb
Cons
- Dishwasher use not stated
- Coating is PTFE, if that matters to you
- Part-number field mentions reversible plates, unexplained
- No sealed sandwich plate named
- No warranty stated
- No storage stated for spare plates
Best for: A buyer who wants a known coating type and the tidiest stated storage.
9. Reemix 3-in-1 Waffle, Grill and Sandwich Maker, Panini Press Grill (JK-207M) — Clearest Light Guide

Three plate sets, dishwasher-safe, and a green light that means the opposite of BLACK+DECKER’s.
Key Specifications
| Plates | 3 sets, stated; waffle, grill and sandwich |
|---|---|
| Removable | Yes, “detachable” |
| Dishwasher-safe | Yes, stated |
| Coating | Non-stick |
| Waffle plate | Depth not stated |
| Power | 750W |
| Lights | Red power; green heating, off at set temperature |
| Dimensions as listed | 11.7 L x 10.0 W x 5.07 H in |
| Listed weight | Not stated |
| Warranty | Not stated; 12-hour customer support |
| Seller | shiny Store |
| Best Sellers Rank | #58,494 overall; #99 in Sandwich Makers & Panini Presses |
Why We Recommend It
It gives the plate count as sets. “3 IN 1 Sandwich Maker: Includes 3 sets of plates”. With Baker’s Friend, it is one of two listings that use the word “sets”, which is the more honest description: each function is an upper and a lower plate. Three sets, six pieces by our reading, four of them off the machine at any time.
The plates go in the dishwasher. “Thanks to the durable non-stick cooking surface, the waffle maker with detachable plates makes cleanup a breeze, simply wipe them clean with a damp cloth once they’ve cooled, of course, you can put the disassembled dishes in the dishwasher.” That makes it one of seven. The coating is non-stick, unnamed.
Its light works the other way round. This is the most detailed light description on the page, and it is worth reading closely: “Red light is power indicator, green light is heating indicator, when the waffle iron is plugged in, the 2 indicator lights turn on together, after it reaches the setting temperature, the green light turns off.” On BLACK+DECKER, green comes on when the plates are ready. On Reemix, green goes off when they are ready. If you are used to one, the other will catch you out. Read the manual for whichever you buy.
It is the largest machine that is not the Baker’s Friend. The listed dimensions are 11.7 inches long, 10.0 inches wide and 5.07 inches high. No weight is stated. The colour field says “Black, Plastic”, the only listing to name plastic in its colour or finish. Power is 750W, and the listing claims it can “toast pocket sandwiches, melts cheese, reheat personal pizza, and creates a crispy outer crust”, wording that also appears almost word for word on the Aigostar listing.
What to weigh. It is sold by shiny Store and ranks #58,494 overall and #99 in Sandwich Makers & Panini Presses, the second-weakest rank here. No warranty is stated; the listing offers a “12 hours customer support team”. If you want three dishwasher-safe plate sets and do not mind a lesser-known seller, it covers the basics; know which way its green light works.
Pros
- 3 plate sets, stated
- Dishwasher-safe, stated
- 750W
- Most detailed light explanation
- Larger listed body than most
- Damp-cloth option also stated
Cons
- Green light turns off when ready, unlike others
- No weight stated
- No warranty stated
- Plastic named in colour field
- Weak rank, #58,494 overall
- Sold by a third-party store
Best for: A buyer who wants three dishwasher-safe plate sets and a clearly explained light.
10. SUNVIVIPRO 3 in 1 Waffle, Grill and Sandwich Maker, 800W (ZWF007) — Highest Stated Wattage

The most power stated on the page, 800W, with dishwasher-safe plates and the weakest rank.
Key Specifications
| Plates | Waffle, grill and sandwich |
|---|---|
| Removable | Yes, stated |
| Dishwasher-safe | Yes, stated |
| Coating | Non-stick |
| Waffle plate | Depth not stated |
| Power | 800W |
| Lights | Red operation, green heating completion |
| Handle | Cool-touch, locking |
| Dimensions as listed | 9.01 H x 9.3 L x 3.75 W in |
| Listed weight | Not stated |
| Seller | Amazon.com |
| Best Sellers Rank | #185,324 overall; #281 in Waffle Irons |
Why We Recommend It
It states the most power of any machine here. “Fast Heating: With 800W of power, our waffle maker swiftly crafts sandwiches, omelets, French toast, and more”. The Size field says “800W” too. That is 50W more than the five machines that state 750W, about 7% more by our arithmetic, and 40W more than Amazon Basics. On a page where every stated figure sits between 750W and 800W, wattage does not separate these machines much, but if it is your tiebreaker, this is the top of the range.
The plates go in the dishwasher. “With non-stick coated plates, your culinary creations emerge flawlessly every time… After use, simply wipe them down or toss them in the dishwasher for added convenience.” That makes it one of seven dishwasher claims. The coating is non-stick, unnamed, and the waffle plate is not described beyond “waffles”; no Belgian label, no depth.
It looks like a sibling of the SUNVIVI. Its listed dimensions, 9.01 inches high, 9.3 inches long and 3.75 inches wide, match the SUNVIVI ZWF001BK above to the hundredth of an inch, and the model codes share the ZWF prefix. The listings do not say the two are related. Where they differ on paper: this one states 800W against 750W and has a locking handle, while the SUNVIVI states timings, a Belgian label, a glass lid, ETL certification and a warranty.
The lights and handle are described. “This grill and sandwich press offers peace of mind with its cool-touch locking handle ensuring safe food handling. The indicator lights streamline the cooking process, clearly signaling when sandwiches are ready—the red light for machine operation and the green light for heating completion.” Here green means ready, like BLACK+DECKER, not like Reemix. The listing says the machine is “easy to store”, but names no storage for the plates.
What to weigh. It is sold by Amazon.com, but its rank, #185,324 overall and #281 in Waffle Irons, is the weakest on the page by a wide margin. No weight and no warranty are stated. If you want the highest stated wattage with dishwasher-safe plates from Amazon.com, it is the one; the SUNVIVI offers more documentation in the same outline.
Pros
- Highest stated wattage, 800W
- Dishwasher-safe, stated
- Cool-touch locking handle
- Green light means ready, stated
- Sold by Amazon.com
- Same outline as the SUNVIVI
Cons
- Weakest rank, #185,324 overall
- No weight stated
- No warranty stated
- Waffle plate depth not stated
- Coating chemistry not named
- No storage stated for spare plates
Best for: A buyer who wants the most stated power and dishwasher-safe plates.
Ten Removable, Seven Dishwasher-Safe, Two Ceramic
Here is every plate claim on the page in one place. The first column is unanimous; the others are where the listings part company. Each cell is the listing’s own claim, and “Not stated” means the listing is silent.
| Machine | Removable | Dishwasher | Coating | Plate count stated |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| OSTBA | Yes | Yes | Food-safe non-stick | “3-in-1”; plates named |
| Amazon Basics | Yes | Not stated | Ceramic-coated | “3-in-1”; plates named |
| BLACK+DECKER | Yes | Yes | Non-stick | “3-in-1”; plates named |
| OVENTE | Yes | Yes | Non-stick | 3 interchangeable plates |
| SUNVIVI | Yes | Yes | Non-stick | 3 removable plates |
| Baker’s Friend | Yes | Yes | Non-stick | Three sets |
| AROMA | Yes | Not stated; sink | Ceramic-coated, PFAS-free | “3-in-1”; plates named |
| Aigostar | Yes | Not stated; damp cloth | Non-stick/Teflon | “3 in 1”; plates named |
| Reemix | Yes | Yes | Non-stick | 3 sets |
| SUNVIVIPRO | Yes | Yes | Non-stick | “3 in 1”; plates named |
Removable is the floor, not a feature. All ten say so, because a 3-in-1 machine has to. If you are comparing single-function waffle makers on this point, our waffle maker with removable plates roundup is the better page; here, every machine clears it.
Seven say dishwasher, three do not. The seven are OSTBA, BLACK+DECKER, OVENTE, SUNVIVI, Baker’s Friend, Reemix and SUNVIVIPRO. Of the three that do not, Aigostar gives a damp cloth, AROMA gives the sink, and Amazon Basics gives nothing either way. None of the three says the plates must not go in a dishwasher; they simply do not claim it. On a machine with three plate sets, that is a real difference in the work. A dishwasher claim means six pieces go in the rack; without one, they go in the sink.
The coating story is mostly unwritten. Seven listings say non-stick and stop. One, Aigostar, names Teflon, which is PTFE. Two, Amazon Basics and AROMA, say ceramic-coated, and AROMA alone adds PFAS-free. The overlap is the interesting part: both ceramic listings are among the three that make no dishwasher claim. If you want ceramic plates on this page, you are choosing the sink as well, at least until a listing says otherwise.
The plate count is usually implied. Four listings give a number: OVENTE and SUNVIVI say three plates, Reemix and Baker’s Friend say three sets. The rest let “3-in-1” do the counting and name the functions. BLACK+DECKER’s instruction to “Securely attach both cooking plates” is the one line that confirms what a set is: an upper and a lower plate. So, by our reading, a 3-in-1 machine means six plate pieces to wash and four to store at any time. No listing gives that figure itself.

Where the Other Two Plate Sets Go
This is the question no listing answers. Every 3-in-1 machine has two sets of plates off the machine at any given moment. Here is everything each listing says about storage, and what it leaves out.
| Machine | Body storage stated | Spare plate storage | Lock or catch | Dimensions as listed |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| OSTBA | Upright storage-friendly | Not stated | Latch, per usage tip | 8.46 H x 3.97 L x 9.33 W in |
| Amazon Basics | Vertical storage | Not stated | Locking lid | 9 x 9 x 4 in |
| BLACK+DECKER | “Storage simple” | Not stated | Not stated | 9.0 x 9.0 x 4.0 in |
| OVENTE | Cabinet or shelf | Not stated | Not stated | 9.25 H x 9.5 L x 3.9 W in |
| SUNVIVI | “Easy to Clean & Store” | Not stated | Not stated | 9.01 H x 9.3 L x 3.75 W in |
| Baker’s Friend | “Compact” | Not stated | Not stated | 5.9 H x 10.63 L x 13.78 W in |
| AROMA | Not stated | Not stated | Plates unlock to swap | 7.5 L x 5.38 W x 3.5 H in |
| Aigostar | Upright; cord storage | Not stated | Locks shut | 4.02 H x 8.9 L x 9.29 W in |
| Reemix | Not stated | Not stated | Not stated | 11.7 L x 10.0 W x 5.07 H in |
| SUNVIVIPRO | “Easy to store” | Not stated | Locking handle | 9.01 H x 9.3 L x 3.75 W in |
The spare plate column is empty from top to bottom. Ten listings, zero storage cases, racks, sleeves or slots for spare plates. That does not mean none exist in the box; it means none of the ten listings says so. It is the most practical thing to ask a seller before you buy, because it decides whether the plates live together or rattle round a drawer, rubbing their coatings against other metal.
Three listings think about the body standing up. OSTBA, Amazon Basics and Aigostar all state upright or vertical storage, and Aigostar adds that it locks shut and has a “collectable cord”. A locking machine that stands upright takes up little shelf space; the plates are the part that spreads out.
Dimensions are hard to compare. Some listings give a body that is about 9 inches tall and under 4 inches deep, which reads like a machine standing on its edge, or a box. Others give about 9 by 9 inches by 4 inches high, which reads like a machine lying flat. The listings do not say which orientation they measured, or whether the figures are the machine or the packaging. Use the largest figure in each listing as your shelf plan, and leave room for two more plate sets beside it.
Coatings need care in storage too. BLACK+DECKER tells you to “Avoid metal utensils, abrasive cleaners, and aerosol cooking sprays to help protect the coating.” The same logic applies to plates stacked in a drawer. A sheet of kitchen paper or a cloth between plates costs nothing and keeps one plate’s ridges from scuffing another’s face.
Belgian, Classic or Not Stated: The Waffle Plate
On a 3-in-1 machine, the waffle plate is one plate of three, and the listings say much less about it than a single-function waffle maker listing usually would. Here is what each one says.
| Machine | Waffle plate as described | Wattage | Ready light |
|---|---|---|---|
| Amazon Basics | Belgian | 760W | Power and Ready lights |
| SUNVIVI | Belgian; about 5 minutes per waffle, stated | 750W | Red and green |
| Baker’s Friend | Belgian, in title | Not stated | Indicator lights |
| AROMA | “Classic”, “fluffy” | Not stated | Not described |
| OSTBA | “Fluffy”; depth not stated | 750W | Not described |
| Aigostar | “Fluffy”; depth not stated | 750W | Red power, green preheat |
| BLACK+DECKER | Not described | Not stated | Green, cycles with thermostat |
| OVENTE | Not described | 750W | LED power and ready |
| Reemix | Not described | 750W | Green off at temperature |
| SUNVIVIPRO | Not described | 800W | Green for heating completion |
Three Belgian labels, no depths. Amazon Basics, SUNVIVI and Baker’s Friend call their waffle plates Belgian. None gives a depth in inches, and none of the other seven describes the grid at all except AROMA, which says “classic”. Belgian usually means a deeper grid with larger pockets, but on this page it is a label, not a measurement. If deep pockets are your priority, a dedicated waffle maker will document it better; our thick waffle maker roundup compares them on that point.
Wattage barely moves. Seven machines state power. Five say 750W, Amazon Basics says 760W, and SUNVIVIPRO says 800W. The spread from lowest to highest is 50W, under 7% by our arithmetic. Three state nothing. On a sandwich-sized plate, the difference between 750W and 800W is unlikely to decide your breakfast; the listings give no heat-up times except the SUNVIVI’s 3–4 minutes. For waffle makers where power varies much more widely, see our main waffle maker guide.
Green means two different things. On BLACK+DECKER and SUNVIVIPRO, the green light means ready. On Reemix, the green light goes off when the plates reach temperature. Aigostar calls its green light a preheat light, which could be read either way. Read the light section of the manual before your first batch, or you may pour batter onto a plate that is still heating.
None opens flat. Not one listing states that the hinge opens to 180 degrees to make a flat griddle. BLACK+DECKER explicitly says to operate the unit closed. The SUNVIVI’s title mentions a “Pancake Griddle” use, and Baker’s Friend has a pancake plate, but both cook inside a closed clamshell as far as the listings describe. If you want a waffle maker that becomes an open griddle, our griddle waffle maker guide looks at that category.

Sandwich Plate, Panini Plate or Grill Plate
The “3” in 3-in-1 is not the same three things on every machine. Most pair a waffle plate with a sealed sandwich plate and a ridged plate, but the names vary, and two listings leave the sealed sandwich plate out.
- Waffle, sandwich and grill — OSTBA, BLACK+DECKER, OVENTE, Reemix and SUNVIVIPRO. The classic line-up: a sealed sandwich plate for pocket sandwiches, a ridged grill plate for paninis and meat, and a waffle plate.
- Waffle, sandwich and panini — Amazon Basics and AROMA. Here the ridged plate is called a panini plate or a “panini press grill”; it does the same job.
- Waffle, panini and grill — Aigostar. The listing names “detachable plates for paninis, grilling, and waffles” and no separate sealed sandwich plate, though it mentions pocket sandwiches.
- Waffle, pancake and grill — Baker’s Friend. The only listing with a pancake plate, and the grill plate also presses paninis.
- Three plates, four uses — SUNVIVI. The title names Belgian waffle, panini, grill and pancake griddle uses for three stated plates, without saying which is which.
If you mainly want a press, compare against a press. A ridged grill plate on a 3-in-1 machine is the size of the machine’s footprint and closes on a fixed hinge. A dedicated panini press can float its top plate for thick sandwiches; our panini press roundup covers that hinge question. A 3-in-1 machine makes sense when you want occasional paninis, sandwiches and waffles from one cupboard slot, and accept the plate swaps and the spare sets.
Best Alternatives
| Alternative | Why Consider It | Better For | Main Trade-Off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single-function waffle maker with removable plates | One plate set to wash and store instead of three | Buyers who mostly make waffles | No sandwich or grill plates |
| Dedicated panini press | Floating hinge for thick sandwiches; larger plates | Buyers who mostly make paninis | No waffle plate |
| Belgian waffle maker | Deeper, often documented grid | Buyers who want deep pockets | Waffles only |
| Electric griddle | Open flat surface for pancakes and eggs | Buyers who want flat cooking for a crowd | No waffles, no press |
What the Step Up Buys
There are no price tiers on this page, but there are documentation tiers. Moving up from the barest listing to the best-documented one buys you specific, checkable claims.
- The floor — removable plates, “non-stick”, and a 3-in-1 label. Every listing here clears it.
- The first step — a stated dishwasher claim, a named plate list and a stated wattage. OSTBA, OVENTE, Reemix, SUNVIVI and SUNVIVIPRO reach it.
- The coating step — a named coating. Amazon Basics and AROMA name ceramic; AROMA adds PFAS-free; Aigostar names Teflon. Note that these three are also the three without a dishwasher claim.
- The documentation step — care instructions, thermostat behaviour and a known brand. BLACK+DECKER is the only listing that tells you what harms the coating and how its light cycles, though it states no wattage.
- The warranty step — OSTBA, OVENTE, SUNVIVI and AROMA each state a 1-year warranty. Six listings state none, or refer you elsewhere.
Nothing on the page reaches every step. No listing combines a named ceramic coating with a dishwasher claim, and no listing states where the spare plates live. The best choice depends on which gap you can live with.
What to Check Before You Buy
Whether the plates go in the dishwasher
Three plate sets, six pieces by our reading, is a lot to wash by hand after a weekend breakfast. Seven listings here say dishwasher-safe. If a listing offers only a cloth or the sink, as Aigostar and AROMA do, or says nothing, as Amazon Basics does, plan for hand-washing or ask the seller.
What the coating is
Most listings say only non-stick. If you care about PTFE or PFAS, look for a named coating: ceramic on Amazon Basics and AROMA, PFAS-free on AROMA only, and Teflon on Aigostar. A coating that is not named is not necessarily any particular type; it is simply not stated.
Which three plates are in the box
Do not assume every 3-in-1 machine has a sealed sandwich plate. Baker’s Friend has a pancake plate instead; Aigostar names panini, grill and waffle plates; SUNVIVI names four uses for three plates. Read the plate list against what you actually cook.
Where the spare plates will live
No listing here describes a storage case or rack for the plates you are not using. Before you buy, decide where two plate sets will sit, and ask the seller whether any storage is included. A drawer full of loose coated plates is how coatings get scratched.
What the waffle plate really is
Three listings say Belgian, one says classic, and the rest say nothing. None gives a depth. If the waffle is the main event, a 3-in-1 machine is a compromise; check the plate photos carefully, or choose a dedicated waffle maker that states its depth.
How the ready light works
On some machines, green comes on when ready; on Reemix, green goes off when ready. BLACK+DECKER says its light cycles with the thermostat. Two listings, OSTBA and AROMA, do not describe a ready light at all. Learn your machine’s light before the first batch.
Whether you need to swap plates cold
BLACK+DECKER says to attach plates while the appliance is cool. Others do not say, but swapping a hot coated plate is a burn risk on any machine. A breakfast that runs waffles then sandwiches means a cooling pause; plan the order, or accept doing one thing per session.

Common Mistakes
- Assuming every 3-in-1 plate goes in the dishwasher. Seven of ten listings say so; Amazon Basics, Aigostar and AROMA do not.
- Expecting ceramic and the dishwasher together. Both ceramic listings, Amazon Basics and AROMA, are among the three without a dishwasher claim.
- Forgetting the spare plates. Each function is an upper and lower plate, so four of six pieces are off the machine, by our reading, and no listing names a place for them.
- Reading “non-stick” as a coating type. Seven listings stop at non-stick; only Aigostar names Teflon and only AROMA says PFAS-free.
- Assuming a sandwich plate is included. Baker’s Friend has a pancake plate instead, and Aigostar names panini, grill and waffle plates.
- Taking Belgian as a depth. Three listings say Belgian; none gives a depth in inches.
- Trusting the green light by habit. BLACK+DECKER’s green comes on when ready; Reemix’s goes off at temperature.
- Expecting a flat griddle. None of the ten states a flat opening, and BLACK+DECKER says to operate closed.
Who Should Buy Which
Buy the OSTBA if you want the safe, popular choice. It has the best rank on the page, #2,246 overall, removable plates that are dishwasher-safe, 750W and upright storage, and it is sold by Amazon.com with a 1-year warranty. Accept that it names no coating type and describes no ready light.
Buy the Amazon Basics if you want ceramic plates and a Belgian label. It is the best-ranked ceramic machine, with 760W and a locking lid. Plan to hand-wash, because no dishwasher claim is made, and note that no warranty is stated.
Buy the BLACK+DECKER if you value clear instructions and a known brand. Dishwasher-safe plates, a thermostat-cycling ready light and the most precise care rules on the page. It states no wattage and must be used closed.
Buy the OVENTE if you want the basics on a budget. Three named, dishwasher-safe plates, 750W and a 1-year warranty, sold by a third-party seller at capture.
Buy the SUNVIVI if you want stated timings and a Belgian label. It is the only listing that says how long heating and waffles take, its plates are dishwasher-safe, and it is ETL certified with a 1-year warranty. Ask which plate does pancakes.
Buy the Baker’s Friend if pancakes matter more than sealed sandwiches. It is the only machine here with a pancake plate, and its plates are dishwasher-safe. It is bigger than “mini” suggests and states no wattage.
Buy the AROMA if PFAS-free is your first question. It is the only listing that says so, on the smallest and lightest machine here, with a 1-year limited warranty. Plan on sink cleanup and a small cooking area.
Buy the Aigostar if storage and a known coating matter to you. It locks shut, stands upright, stores its cord and names Teflon. Plan to wipe the plates by hand.
Buy the Reemix if you want three dishwasher-safe plate sets and a well-explained light. Learn that its green light goes off at temperature. No warranty or weight is stated.
Buy the SUNVIVIPRO if you want the most stated power. 800W, dishwasher-safe plates and a locking handle, sold by Amazon.com, but with the weakest rank on the page and no warranty stated.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the best 3 in 1 waffle maker?
For most buyers, the OSTBA 3-in-1 Waffle Maker. It holds the best Best Sellers Rank of the ten listings here, #2,246 overall, by a wide margin. Its listing says the plates are removable and dishwasher-safe, covering each plate, and it states 750W with double-sided heating, upright storage and a 1-year warranty, sold by Amazon.com. It does not name its coating chemistry or describe a ready light. If you want ceramic plates, the Amazon Basics is the best-ranked ceramic option and states a Belgian waffle plate and 760W, though it makes no dishwasher claim. If you want a known brand with clear care rules, the BLACK+DECKER WM2000SD says its plates are dishwasher-safe and its ready light cycles with the thermostat, but it gives no wattage. Star ratings and review counts were not captured for this roundup, so this recommendation rests on stated features and Best Sellers Rank only.
What is the best sandwich waffle maker?
A sandwich waffle maker is usually a 3-in-1 machine with a sealed sandwich plate and a waffle plate, plus a grill plate. On this page, the OSTBA, BLACK+DECKER, OVENTE, Reemix and SUNVIVIPRO all name sandwich, waffle and grill plates. Of those, the OSTBA has the best rank and a dishwasher claim, the BLACK+DECKER the clearest care instructions, and the OVENTE a stated 1-year warranty with three named plates. Amazon Basics and AROMA name sandwich and panini plates with a waffle plate, and both are ceramic-coated. Be careful with two listings: Baker’s Friend swaps the sandwich plate for a pancake plate, and Aigostar names panini, grill and waffle plates without a separate sealed sandwich plate. If sealed pocket sandwiches are the point, check the plate list before you buy, and note that OSTBA warns against overfilling the sandwich press to protect the latch.
What is the best 3 in 1 sandwich maker grill waffle maker?
If you want all three, sandwich, grill and waffle plates, five listings here name exactly that line-up: OSTBA, BLACK+DECKER, OVENTE, Reemix and SUNVIVIPRO. All five state dishwasher-safe plates, which on a machine with three plate sets saves real work. The OSTBA has the best rank, #2,246 overall, and states 750W and upright storage. The OVENTE states 750W at 120V and a 1-year warranty. The Reemix states three plate sets and explains its lights in detail, though its green light goes off at temperature. The SUNVIVIPRO states the most power on the page, 800W, but has the weakest rank. The BLACK+DECKER states no wattage but gives the clearest care rules. None of the five names its coating beyond non-stick, and none states a storage case for the spare plates, so plan where those will go.
What is the best panini press and waffle maker?
For a machine that does both paninis and waffles, look at the listings that name a ridged panini or grill plate alongside the waffle plate. Amazon Basics names Belgian waffles, grilled sandwiches and pressed paninis, with ceramic-coated plates, 760W and a locking lid; it makes no dishwasher claim. AROMA names a waffle plate, a sandwich press and a panini press grill, ceramic-coated and PFAS-free, on a small 1.69-pound machine cleaned in the sink. Aigostar names plates for paninis, grilling and waffles, with 750W and cord storage. Baker’s Friend says its grill plate can also press paninis. Keep in mind that a 3-in-1 machine closes on a fixed hinge and its grill plate is no larger than the body, so for thick sandwiches a dedicated panini press with a floating hinge is the better tool. A 3-in-1 machine suits occasional paninis and waffles from one cupboard slot.
Are 3 in 1 waffle maker plates dishwasher safe?
It depends on the listing. Of the ten on this page, seven say the plates are dishwasher-safe: OSTBA, BLACK+DECKER, OVENTE, SUNVIVI, Baker’s Friend, Reemix and SUNVIVIPRO. Three do not make that claim. Aigostar says to wipe the plates with a damp cloth once cool. AROMA says to lift off the plates for quick cleanup in the sink. Amazon Basics says the plates are removable and easy to clean but does not mention a dishwasher either way. None of the three says the plates must not go in a dishwasher, but without a claim, hand-washing is the safe assumption. BLACK+DECKER adds conditions worth following on any machine: avoid metal utensils, abrasive cleaners and aerosol cooking sprays to protect the coating. Because a 3-in-1 machine has three plate sets, each with an upper and lower plate, a dishwasher claim saves more work here than on a single-function waffle maker.
Which 3 in 1 waffle makers have ceramic plates?
Two of the ten listings here name a ceramic coating. The Amazon Basics 3-in-1 says its plates are ceramic-coated and provide easy cleanup without harmful chemicals; it also states 760W, a Belgian waffle plate and a locking lid. The AROMA 3-in-1 says its plates are ceramic-coated and adds PFAS-free in so many words, the only listing on the page to do so; it is the smallest and lightest machine here at a listed 1.69 pounds. Neither of the two claims that its plates are dishwasher-safe: AROMA points to the sink, and Amazon Basics says nothing either way. Of the other eight, Aigostar names a non-stick/Teflon surface, which is PTFE, and seven say only non-stick without naming the chemistry. An unnamed non-stick coating is not necessarily any particular type; it is simply not stated. If the coating matters to you, ask the seller before buying.
Do 3 in 1 waffle makers make Belgian waffles?
Some say so. Three of the ten listings here call their waffle plate Belgian: Amazon Basics in its first bullet, Baker’s Friend in its title, and the SUNVIVI sandwich maker in its title and bullets. AROMA calls its waffle classic, which usually implies a shallower grid. OSTBA and Aigostar describe fluffy waffles without naming a style, and the rest do not describe the waffle plate beyond the word waffle. None of the ten gives a plate depth in inches, so Belgian on this page is a label, not a measurement. The SUNVIVI is the only listing that gives a waffle time, about 5 minutes, and a heat-up time of 3 to 4 minutes. If deep pockets are your priority, a dedicated Belgian waffle maker is likely to document its grid more fully than a 3-in-1 machine, where the waffle plate is one of three.
Can a 3 in 1 waffle maker open flat as a griddle?
None of the ten listings on this page states that its hinge opens flat to make a griddle. BLACK+DECKER goes further and tells you to always operate the unit in the closed position on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface. The SUNVIVI sandwich maker mentions a pancake griddle use in its title, and Baker’s Friend includes a pancake plate for pancakes and fried eggs, but both describe cooking inside the closed clamshell, not on an open flat surface. If you want a machine that opens into a flat griddle, look for a listing that says so in words, or consider a griddle waffle maker or an electric griddle instead. On a 3-in-1 machine, plan on cooking with the lid closed and changing plates, cool where the listing says so, between functions.
Final Verdict
Dishwasher-safe removable plates, 750W, upright storage and the best rank on the page, #2,246 overall, sold by Amazon.com.
Ceramic-coated plates, a Belgian waffle plate, 760W and a locking lid; plan to hand-wash.
Dishwasher-safe plates, a thermostat-cycling ready light and the clearest care rules here; no wattage stated.
A 3-in-1 waffle maker is three plate sets and one hinge, and the listings talk about the hinge. All ten say the plates come out. Seven say they go in the dishwasher. Two name ceramic, one names Teflon, and seven stop at non-stick. Three call the waffle plate Belgian and none gives a depth. And not one says where the two sets you are not using should live.
The trade-offs cross over. Both ceramic machines are among the three without a dishwasher claim. The best-documented machine, BLACK+DECKER, states no wattage. The highest-wattage machine, SUNVIVIPRO, has the weakest rank. The only pancake plate comes on a “mini” machine with the largest stated outline. No listing reaches every step.
So buy by the plates. Decide whether you will wash six coated pieces by hand or in a rack, whether the coating type matters to you, and whether you need a sealed sandwich plate or a pancake plate. Then decide where two spare sets will sit, and ask the seller if anything is included to hold them.
If you buy one 3-in-1 waffle maker from this page, make it the OSTBA: removable, dishwasher-safe plates, 750W, upright storage and by far the best rank of the ten, sold by Amazon.com with a 1-year warranty. If ceramic plates come first, the Amazon Basics is the best-ranked ceramic option; if you want a known brand with clear care rules, choose the BLACK+DECKER.
