The Best Air Fryer Toaster Oven Easy to Clean Has an Enamel Interior

VAL CUCINA enamel interior air fryer toaster oven beside an ARINOO PFAS-free ceramic coated oven

Seven of the ten ovens below answer the cleaning question by telling you their accessories are dishwasher safe. That is answering a different question.

The racks and baskets are the easy part. They come out, they go in the machine, they come back clean. What makes an air fryer toaster oven genuinely unpleasant to own is the cavity — because air frying works by blasting hot air at fat, which aerosolises it and deposits a film on every interior wall, where it then bakes on at four hundred degrees. No dishwasher reaches that. You reach it, with a cloth, at an awkward angle, through a door.

So the specification that decides this is what the inside is made of, and only three of these ten will tell you. Two name an enamel cavity — glass fused to steel, non-porous, the same material used in full-size ovens for exactly this reason. One names a PFAS-free ceramic coating and lists the three compounds it excludes.

The remaining seven describe removable parts and say nothing about the walls. One of them does not mention cleaning at all, and one is not a toaster oven.

Ten below, $89.99 to $299.99, sorted by what they actually tell you about the surface you will be scrubbing.

Specifications and prices are taken from each manufacturer’s Amazon listing as displayed on 24 August 2026 through a United States connection, and may change. Interior material is recorded only where the manufacturer names it: two listings state an enamel cavity, one states a PFAS-free ceramic coating, and seven describe only removable parts. The absence of a stated cavity material is not evidence of a poor one — it is an absence of information. One product in this roundup is a basket air fryer rather than a toaster oven and is included because it appears in this search; it cannot toast, bake or broil. One listing states both ‘112 EASY-COOK PRESETS’ and ’12 cooking functions’ within the same bullet, which we report as published rather than silently correcting. Sales ranks are shown as displayed and can be pooled across a variant family.

How We Chose These Ten

We researched current listings, compared manufacturer specifications and documentation, and examined recurring patterns in customer feedback. We did not carry out hands-on testing, and nothing below is presented as measured performance data.

  • Interior surface recorded where the maker names it — three of ten do; it is the specification that actually decides this
  • Cleaning provision recorded as stated — dishwasher-safe accessories are noted, and distinguished from cavity material
  • A verified live buy box — all ten confirmed purchasable in the United States on 24 August 2026
  • No overlap with our five published air fryer and toaster oven guides — every oven here is new to the site
  • Features that make cleaning harder flagged — rotisserie in particular, which throws fat across the whole cavity
  • One listing error reported as published — a bullet stating both 112 and 12 presets
  • One product included that is not a toaster oven — it ranks #126 in this search and cannot toast
A greasy baking tray
Trays wash. The cavity walls are the problem.

The Ten Ovens in Detail

1. VAL CUCINA 26.3 QT Enamel — Best Overall

VAL CUCINA 26.3 quart air fryer toaster oven with non-toxic enamel interior

Enamel interior. It is one of only three ovens here that will tell you what the inside is actually made of.

Key Specifications

Interior Heavy-duty enamel coating throughout the cavity
Why enamel Non-porous glass fused to steel: grease cannot soak in, and it will not flake
Baking pan Enamel, described as easy clean
Capacity 26.3 QT — a 5–6 lb chicken, 12-inch pizza, 6 slices of toast
Heating Infrared elements plus a convection fan
Presets 10 cooking presets
Power 1650 W
Rank #11,694, pooled with a sibling listing
Price $159.99
Best For Anyone who has scrubbed a countertop oven and does not want to again

Why We Recommend It

The cavity is what makes these ovens miserable to clean, not the accessories. Air frying works by blasting hot air at food, which aerosolises fat and deposits it on every interior surface, where it then bakes on at 400°F. No amount of dishwasher-safe racks addresses that. The wall is the problem, and it is the specification almost nobody publishes.

Vitreous enamel is glass fused to steel at high temperature. It is completely non-porous, so grease sits on the surface rather than soaking into it, and it tolerates far higher temperatures than any organic coating without degrading. It also will not flake the way a nonstick layer eventually does, because it is not a layer sitting on top of the metal — it is bonded into it. This is the material used in full-size oven cavities for the same reason.

Infrared elements plus convection is the same combination as the T-fal and the Midea — radiant heat directly onto the food, with a fan for evenness.

Note the pooled rank. #11,694 is shared with a sibling VAL CUCINA listing, so it describes the pair.

Pros

  • Enamel cavity is non-porous and will not flake
  • States its interior material, which most do not
  • Enamel baking pan as well as enamel walls
  • 26.3 QT fits a 12-inch pizza and 6 slices
  • Infrared elements with convection
  • $159.99 for the best cleaning surface here

Cons

  • Rank pooled with a sibling listing
  • No external dimensions published
  • Enamel chips if struck hard with a metal pan
  • 10 presets rather than the 19 some rivals claim
  • Unfamiliar brand outside this category
  • No published noise figure

Best for: Anyone who cares more about the fifth year of ownership than the first week.

2. Midea Flexify Pro — Best Premium

Midea Flexify Pro French door air fryer toaster oven, 26.4 quart

Enamel chamber, enamel pan, and a name for it — XpressClean — which at least signals the maker knows the cavity is the problem.

Key Specifications

Interior XpressClean enamel chamber, described as grease-resistant and wiping clean
Baking pan Enamel
Heating Graphene rapid heat — 60% faster than traditional convection
Capacity 26.4 QT — 12-inch pizza, 6 slices
Functions 10+4 — air fry, roast, bake, broil, toast, pizza, dehydrate, slow cook, reheat, warm
Pizza modes 4 crust options — classic, thin, rising and one more
Doors French, single-pull operation
Rank #21,208 in its category
Price $239.99
Best For Enamel cleaning plus the fastest heat-up here

Why We Recommend It

Graphene heating is the unusual part. Graphene conducts heat exceptionally well laterally, so a graphene-based element spreads heat across its whole surface almost instantly rather than glowing hot in spots the way a coiled metal element does. Midea claims 60% faster than conventional convection, and the mechanism is at least plausible rather than invented.

French doors are worth understanding as a cleaning question too. Two doors opening from the centre means each swings half as far, so neither projects a full door’s depth into the room — and there is no single large hot panel dropping down in front of you. The hinges and the centre seal are two more places grease collects.

Four crust settings for pizza is a level of specificity nothing else here attempts, adjusting the balance between top and bottom heat for thin, classic and rising bases.

At $239.99 and rank #21,208 this is the expensive way to get an enamel interior — the VAL CUCINA above delivers the same cavity material for eighty dollars less.

Pros

  • XpressClean enamel chamber and baking pan
  • Graphene heating, 60% faster than convection
  • French doors halve the swing of each panel
  • 4 pizza crust modes
  • 26.4 QT with a 12-inch pizza capacity
  • 14 functions across 10+4 modes

Cons

  • $239.99 — second most expensive here
  • Same cavity material as an oven $80 cheaper
  • Rank #21,208
  • French door hinges and centre seal collect grease
  • No external dimensions published
  • Graphene claim is not independently verifiable

Best for: Buyers who want the enamel cavity and the fastest heating together.

3. ARINOO 16 QT PFAS-Free — Best Coating

ARINOO 16 quart air fryer toaster oven combo with PFAS-free ceramic coating

PFAS, PFOA and PTFE, all named and all excluded. Most listings say “non-toxic” and leave you guessing.

Key Specifications

Coating PFAS-free ceramic
Explicitly excludes PFAS, PFOA and PTFE — all three named
Capacity 16 QT — 14 wings, 8 slices of toast, 4 lb of fries, 9-inch pizza
Presets 9 one-touch — fries, chicken, fish, shrimp, baking, meat, pizza, cheese bread and one more
Airflow 360° rapid air with top fan and bottom heat
Preheating None required; up to 50% faster than a traditional oven
Certification cETL approved
Rank #137,942 in its category
Price $95.99
Best For Anyone avoiding fluorinated coatings specifically

Why We Recommend It

Naming the compounds is the meaningful part. PFAS is the broad family of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances; PTFE is the specific polymer most nonstick coatings are made from; PFOA is a processing aid formerly used to manufacture it and phased out years ago. A great many listings advertise “PFOA-free”, which has been true of essentially all cookware for over a decade and tells you nothing. Excluding PTFE as well is the claim that actually distinguishes a ceramic coating from a conventional one.

Ceramic is a real alternative with a real trade. It is a silica-based sol-gel layer, genuinely free of fluorinated polymers, and it releases food well when new. It also loses that release property faster than PTFE does and considerably faster than enamel, which does not lose it at all. Expect a few years rather than a decade.

Sixteen quarts at $95.99 is the cheapest capacity on this page, and nine presets cover the common cases.

Rank #137,942 is by far the lowest here, which for an unfamiliar brand at a low price is the risk you are accepting.

Pros

  • Names PFAS, PFOA and PTFE explicitly
  • Ceramic coating with no fluorinated polymers
  • 16 QT for $95.99 — cheapest capacity here
  • 9 one-touch presets
  • No preheating required, 50% faster than an oven
  • cETL approved

Cons

  • Rank #137,942 — lowest on this page
  • Ceramic loses release faster than PTFE or enamel
  • Only a 9-inch pizza despite 16 QT
  • Unfamiliar brand with no record
  • No external dimensions published
  • No wattage stated

Best for: Anyone specifically avoiding fluorinated coatings, at the lowest price.

4. Ninja French Door Premier FO101BK — Best Dishwasher Set

Ninja French Door Premier air fry oven, 10-in-1, in black

Five separate removable parts, all dishwasher safe. That is the best accessory story on this page — and it still does not tell you about the walls.

Key Specifications

Surfaces All cooking surfaces made without PFAS
Cavity material Not named on the listing
Dishwasher safe Air fry basket, sheet pan, wire rack, broil rack and crumb tray
Capacity 5-qt air fry basket taking up to 5 lb
Functions 10 — air fry, air roast, whole roast, bake, pizza, broil, reheat, dehydrate, toast, bagel
Preheat 90 seconds; up to 60% faster cooking
Heat retention 60% more than a named competing French door oven
Doors One-handed pull, both open together
Rank #748 in its category
Price $299.99
Best For The most complete dishwasher-safe accessory set here

Why We Recommend It

Credit where it is due: this is the most thorough set here. Basket, sheet pan, wire rack, broil rack and crumb tray all go in the machine, which covers everything you physically remove. If your cleaning complaint is about washing trays by hand, this solves it completely.

PFAS-free across all cooking surfaces is a genuine and reasonably specific claim, and Ninja is a large enough manufacturer that it carries weight. What is missing is what the cavity actually is — enamel, coated steel or bare — which is the surface that gets the baked-on grease.

A ninety-second preheat is a real number in a category where most makers give a vague percentage. Ninja also compares its heat retention against a specifically named rival product rather than against “conventional ovens”, which is unusually falsifiable.

Rank #748 is the second best here, and $299.99 is the highest price on this page.

Pros

  • Five removable parts, all dishwasher safe
  • All cooking surfaces made without PFAS
  • 90-second preheat, a specific figure
  • Rank #748, second best here
  • Compares heat retention to a named rival
  • One-handed French door operation

Cons

  • Cavity material never named
  • $299.99 — most expensive on this page
  • 5-qt basket is modest for the price
  • French door seals and hinges collect grease
  • No external dimensions published
  • Dishwasher-safe parts do not address the walls

Best for: Anyone whose cleaning problem is the trays rather than the cavity.

5. Chefman 12-Quart 5-in-1 — Best Rank

Chefman 12-quart 5-in-1 air fryer oven with rotisserie and dishwasher-safe parts

Rank #839 and a rotisserie spit. Be aware that the spit and forks are the single most annoying thing to clean in this entire roundup.

Key Specifications

Cleaning Removable drip tray and dishwasher-safe parts
Capacity 12 QT
Functions 5 — air fry, bake, dehydrate, rotisserie, roast or reheat
Rotisserie Stainless spit and forks with a retrieval tool
Temperature 95–400°F, with a 450°F Hi-Fry final two minutes
Presets 12, on a capacitive touchscreen
Accessories Three racks, spit, forks, retrieval tool, drip tray
Certification cETL, 1-year assurance
Rank #839 in its category
Price $109.94
Best For Rotisserie chicken, if you accept what cleaning the spit involves

Why We Recommend It

Rotisserie is genuinely good cooking and genuinely bad washing-up. A chicken turning for an hour throws fat across the whole cavity rather than dripping it neatly into a tray, and the spit and its two forks have threads, screws and crevices that hold cooked-on fat. Chefman includes a retrieval tool because the assembly is too hot and greasy to handle otherwise. None of that is a fault; it is simply the cost of the function, and an oven bought partly for ease of cleaning should have it flagged.

The 95°F low end is the useful hidden feature. Most countertop ovens will not go below about 150, which rules out dehydrating and proving dough. This reaches 95, which makes the dehydrate function real rather than nominal.

Hi-Fry pushes to 450°F for the last two minutes, which is the correct way to crisp something that has already cooked through.

At $109.94 with rank #839 this is strong value; just do not buy it primarily for easy cleaning.

Pros

  • Rank #839, best of the true toaster ovens here
  • 12 presets on a capacitive touchscreen
  • 95–400°F range makes dehydrating real
  • Hi-Fry 450°F finishing burst
  • Removable drip tray and dishwasher-safe parts
  • $109.94 with a full accessory set

Cons

  • Rotisserie spit and forks are the hardest parts here to clean
  • Rotisserie throws fat across the whole cavity
  • Cavity material never named
  • Only 5 functions
  • 12 QT is mid-sized
  • 1-year assurance is short

Best for: Rotisserie cooking, with clear eyes about the washing-up it creates.

6. Gourmia French Door 6-Slice — Most Presets

Gourmia air fryer French door toaster oven with 19 cooking presets

Nineteen presets. The honest question with any figure like that is how many are mechanically distinct.

Key Specifications

Functions 19 — including convection bake, dehydrate, slow cook, proof and keep warm
Power 1700 W with FryForce 360°
Temperature 90°F to 450°F
Racks Three positions — top, centre and bottom
Doors Dual French
Display LED digital with touch controls
Included Air fry basket, oven rack, baking pan, crumb tray
Rank #2,302 in its category
Price $149.99
Best For Cooks who want every function on one panel

Why We Recommend It

Preset counts inflate the same way pressure cooker function counts do. Air fry, bake, roast, convection bake and pizza are variations of the same heat-and-fan combination at different ratios and temperatures. That is not deception — the presets encode useful defaults — but nineteen functions does not mean nineteen capabilities, and comparing it against a rival’s ten tells you less than comparing temperature ranges and rack positions.

Three rack positions is the specification that genuinely matters and it is easy to overlook. Position controls distance from the elements, which is the difference between browning a gratin and burning it, and between crisp pizza base and raw. Two positions is common; three is better.

Ninety degrees at the low end again makes dehydrate and proof functional rather than decorative.

For cleaning, this is a dishwasher-safe-accessories oven with no statement about its cavity, which puts it in the majority on this page.

Pros

  • 19 preset functions on one panel
  • 1700 W with a 90–450°F range
  • Three rack positions, more than most
  • Dual French doors
  • Rank #2,302, third best here
  • Full accessory kit included

Cons

  • Cavity material never named
  • 19 presets are not 19 distinct capabilities
  • No dimensions published
  • French door seals collect grease
  • Touch controls are a failure point
  • Cleaning story is accessories only

Best for: Cooks who work from presets and want the deepest menu here.

7. Gourmia 37 QT French Door — Largest Capacity

Gourmia French door air fryer oven, 37 quart large capacity convection toaster oven

Thirty-seven quarts, and unusually for this page it tells you how much counter that takes: 16.5 by 19.5 inches.

Key Specifications

Capacity 37 QT — largest here
Fits 13-inch pizza, or up to 9 slices of toast
Dimensions 16.5 in D x 19.5 in W x 13 in H — published
Power 1700 W, 90°F to 450°F
Functions 12 presets including dehydrate, proof, slow cook and keep warm
Cleaning Dishwasher-safe accessory kit
Doors French
Rank #5,970 in its category
Price $139.00
Best For Maximum capacity per pound, with the footprint stated honestly

Why We Recommend It

Publishing dimensions is worth crediting here because only two ovens in this roundup do. Nineteen and a half inches wide by 16.5 deep is a large appliance — it will overhang the usable band on most worktops — and Gourmia states it plainly rather than leaving buyers to discover it on delivery.

Thirty-seven quarts is a genuinely different class of oven. A 13-inch pizza and nine slices of toast is full-size oven capacity, and for a household that would otherwise heat a 60-litre wall oven to cook for four, this is the more efficient tool.

Larger cavities are harder to clean, not easier, which is worth saying on this page. More interior surface means more area for aerosolised fat to land on, and reaching the back corners of a 37-quart box through a French door opening is awkward. Capacity and cleaning pull in opposite directions.

At $139.00 this is the cheapest capacity per quart here, and rank #5,970 is respectable.

Pros

  • 37 QT — largest capacity on this page
  • Publishes full external dimensions
  • 13-inch pizza and 9 slices of toast
  • 1700 W with a 90–450°F range
  • 12 presets including proof and slow cook
  • $139.00, cheapest per quart here

Cons

  • 19.5 inches wide and 16.5 deep — a large footprint
  • More interior surface means more to clean
  • Cavity material never named
  • Back corners are awkward to reach
  • Rank #5,970
  • Cleaning story is accessories only

Best for: Households replacing a full-size oven for everyday cooking.

8. Nuwave Bravo XL Pro — Most Adjustable

Nuwave Bravo XL Pro air fryer toaster oven with 100% super convection

The listing’s third bullet begins “112 EASY-COOK PRESETS” and then describes twelve cooking functions. We report it as published.

Key Specifications

Heater control Top and bottom adjustable 0–100% independently
Fan 3 speeds, 100% faster fan than the previous model
Temperature 50°F to 500°F in 5°F increments
Layer evenness 0–1°F difference between racks
Presets Listing states ‘112 EASY-COOK PRESETS’ and then ’12 cooking functions’
Max temperature 500°F — highest here
Rank #15,784 in its category
Price $167.96
Best For Anyone who wants manual control over the heat balance

Why We Recommend It

The likely reading is a stray digit — twelve functions with a larger library of preset recipes behind them, or simply a typo for 12. We cannot resolve it from the page and neither can a buyer, which is the point of flagging it. Preset counts are already the softest figure in this category, and a listing that contradicts itself within one bullet is not a basis for comparison.

What is genuinely impressive is the heater control. Being able to set top and bottom elements independently from zero to a hundred percent is real manual control, not a preset. A pizza wants most of its heat from below to crisp the base; a gratin wants it from above. Nothing else on this page lets you dial that ratio directly.

Fifty to five hundred degrees in five-degree increments is the widest and finest range here, and the claimed nought-to-one-degree variance between racks is a specific and checkable evenness claim.

Cleaning is not addressed at all on this listing. No cavity material, no dishwasher-safe statement.

Pros

  • Top and bottom heaters adjustable 0–100%
  • 50–500°F in 5°F increments, finest control here
  • Claimed 0–1°F variance between racks
  • 3 fan speeds
  • 500°F maximum, highest on this page
  • Genuine manual control rather than presets

Cons

  • Listing states both 112 and 12 presets
  • No cleaning information published at all
  • Cavity material never named
  • No dimensions published
  • Rank #15,784
  • Manual control is wasted on anyone who wants one-touch

Best for: Cooks who want to set the heat balance themselves rather than pick a preset.

9. Beelicious 32QT 19-in-1 — Most Accessories

Beelicious 32 quart extra large air fryer toaster oven with rotisserie and dehydrator

Six accessories, all dishwasher safe. Also a listing whose final bullet is “All problems will be solved within 24 hours.”

Key Specifications

Capacity 32 QT, 4 layers — 13-inch pizza, 9 slices, 10 lb turkey
Functions 19+ — air fry, bake, roast, broil, rotisserie, toast, dehydrate, defrost, warm
Power 1800 W with 360° airflow
Accessories 6, all detachable and dishwasher safe
Included Cookbook with 30 recipes
Support States all problems resolved within 24 hours
Rank #47,847 in its category
Price $199.99
Best For Capacity and accessories, if the thin listing does not deter you

Why We Recommend It

That bullet is where a specification should be, and it is characteristic of the thinner listings in this category — where a competitor would state a cavity material, a wattage breakdown or a temperature range, this offers customer service as a feature. It is not nothing, but it is not information.

Thirty-two quarts across four layers with a rotisserie is a lot of oven for $199.99, and the ten-pound turkey claim puts it in genuine full-size territory.

All six accessories detaching and being dishwasher safe is the substantive cleaning claim, and with a rotisserie in the mix that matters — the spit assembly is the part you least want to hand wash.

Rank #47,847 is very low and there is no cavity material, no dimensions and no noise figure. At this price the Gourmia 37 QT publishes more and costs sixty dollars less.

Pros

  • 32 QT across 4 layers for $199.99
  • All 6 accessories detach and are dishwasher safe
  • 1800 W, joint most powerful here
  • Rotisserie and dehydrator included
  • 13-inch pizza and 10 lb turkey capacity
  • Cookbook with 30 recipes

Cons

  • Rank #47,847 — very low
  • Listing offers customer service where specifications should be
  • No cavity material, dimensions or temperature range
  • Rotisserie throws fat across a very large cavity
  • Unfamiliar brand
  • Outspecified by a cheaper rival here

Best for: Maximum capacity and accessories, accepting an unusually thin listing.

10. Ninja Air Fryer Pro AF141 — Not a Toaster Oven

Ninja Air Fryer Pro, 5 quart, 4-in-1, in grey

Rank #126, the best figure in this entire search, and it is not a toaster oven at all.

Key Specifications

Format Basket air fryer — not a toaster oven
Capacity 5-QT nonstick basket with removable crisper plate
Functions 4 — air fry, roast, reheat, dehydrate
Cleaning Basket and crisper plate both nonstick
Temperature 400°F superheated air
Cannot do Toast, bake, broil, or hold anything flat
Rank #126 — best in this search
Price $89.99
Best For Air frying only — it is here so you do not buy it by mistake

Why We Recommend It

It is included because it will appear when you search for one. A basket air fryer is a different appliance: a deep drawer with a fan above it, no door, no glass, no racks and no capacity for anything flat. You cannot toast in it, you cannot bake a pizza in it, and you cannot see what is happening without pulling the drawer out.

For cleaning it is genuinely the easiest thing on this page, and that is the honest reason it belongs in an easy-to-clean roundup. Two nonstick parts — a basket and a crisper plate — come out and wash, and there is no cavity to speak of because the interior is the basket. If ease of cleaning is your only criterion, a basket air fryer beats every toaster oven here and it is not close.

What you give up is everything else. No toast, no bake, no broil, no glass door, and a 5-quart drawer against 37 quarts at the top of this page.

Rank #126 reflects how many people want exactly this, which is a lot — just make sure it is what you want before ordering.

Pros

  • Genuinely the easiest thing here to clean
  • Only two parts to wash, both nonstick
  • Rank #126 — best in this search
  • No cavity for grease to bake onto
  • 5 QT holds 4 lb of fries or 5 lb of wings
  • $89.99 from an established brand

Cons

  • Not a toaster oven — it appears in this search anyway
  • Cannot toast, bake or broil
  • No door, no glass and no racks
  • 5 QT against 37 at the top of this page
  • Nonstick basket wears out in a few years
  • Cannot see food without opening the drawer

Best for: Air frying alone. It is here so you know what it is before ordering.

The Ninja has the better accessory story, the better rank and the better brand, and it costs $140 more. What it will not tell you is what the inside of the box is made of — which is the surface that collects aerosolised fat and bakes it on. If your complaint about your last air fryer was washing the basket, buy the Ninja. If it was scrubbing the walls, the enamel cavity is the specification that addresses it.

Note the bottom row. The best-ranked product in this entire search is a basket air fryer, and it is also, genuinely, the easiest thing here to clean — two nonstick parts and no cavity at all. That is not a trick answer. If ease of cleaning is your only criterion, a basket air fryer wins decisively, and the price is that it cannot toast, bake or broil.

Best Alternatives

Alternative Why Consider It Better For Main Trade-Off
A basket air fryer Two parts, no cavity, nothing to scrub Anyone whose priority is genuinely cleaning No toasting, baking or broiling
Air fryer liners or parchment Catches drips before they reach any surface Reducing the mess in an oven you already own Blocks airflow if oversized, and is a running cost
A full-size oven with a self-clean cycle Pyrolytic cleaning burns residue to ash Households that already have one Slow, energy-hungry, and unsuitable for two portions
Wiping the cavity while still warm Free, and stops the film ever baking on Every oven on this page Requires doing it every time, which nobody does

What the Money Actually Buys

$89.99 to $109.94 — Ninja Air Fryer Pro, ARINOO 16 QT, Chefman 12-Quart. The value tier, and it contains both the easiest thing here to clean and the cheapest named cavity coating. It also contains the rotisserie oven, which is the hardest to clean on this page despite ranking well.

$139.00 to $167.96 — Gourmia 37 QT, Gourmia French Door, VAL CUCINA, Nuwave. Where the enamel cavity appears at $159.99, and where capacity peaks at 37 quarts for $139.00. The Nuwave in this tier offers the finest manual heat control here and says nothing at all about cleaning.

$199.99 to $299.99 — Beelicious, Midea Flexify Pro, Ninja French Door Premier. The premium tier is the least consistent. The Midea gives you an enamel chamber and graphene heating; the Ninja gives you the best accessory set and the best brand; the Beelicious gives you 32 quarts and a listing that offers customer service in place of a specification.

What to Check Before You Buy

Ask What the Cavity Is Made Of, Not What Comes Out

This is the whole point. Removable racks, baskets and crumb trays going into a dishwasher solves the easy half of the problem, and every oven here offers some version of it. The hard half is the interior wall, where air frying deposits a film of aerosolised fat that then bakes on. That surface never comes out, never goes in a dishwasher, and is reached with a cloth through a door opening. Three listings in this roundup name their cavity material; seven do not, and their silence is an absence of information rather than proof of anything.

Understand Why Enamel Is Different

Vitreous enamel is glass fused to steel at high temperature, and it is what full-size oven cavities have been lined with for decades. Two properties matter here. It is completely non-porous, so grease sits on the surface instead of soaking into it and can be wiped rather than dissolved. And it is bonded into the metal rather than sitting on top as a layer, so unlike nonstick or ceramic coatings it does not degrade, flake or lose its properties with age. It will chip if struck hard with a metal pan, which is its one genuine weakness.

Treat ‘Non-Toxic’ as a Prompt to Read Further

Several listings here describe themselves as non-toxic or PFAS-free, and the useful ones name compounds. PFAS is the broad family of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances; PTFE is the specific polymer in most nonstick coatings; PFOA is a processing aid phased out of cookware manufacturing over a decade ago. A listing advertising PFOA-free is stating something true of essentially all modern cookware. One that explicitly excludes PTFE as well is telling you it is a genuinely different coating chemistry. One product here names all three.

A Rotisserie Makes Cleaning Substantially Worse

Worth weighing honestly against how much rotisserie chicken you will actually make. A bird turning for an hour throws fat outward across the entire cavity rather than dripping it into a tray beneath, so the walls get a heavier deposit than any other cooking mode produces. The spit and its two forks have threads and screws that hold cooked-on fat, and they are awkward to scrub. Two ovens here include rotisserie kits and one supplies a retrieval tool because the assembly is too hot and greasy to handle. The function is good; it is simply the opposite of easy cleaning.

Bigger Cavities Are Harder to Clean, Not Easier

Capacity and cleaning pull against each other and it is easy to assume otherwise. A 37-quart cavity has substantially more interior surface for aerosolised fat to land on than a 12-quart one, and the back corners of a large box are genuinely difficult to reach through a door opening — particularly a French door opening, where the centre post limits how far in you can get your forearm. If cleaning is your priority rather than capacity, the smaller ovens on this page are easier for a reason that has nothing to do with their materials.

Wipe It While It Is Still Warm

The single most effective thing on this page costs nothing. Fat deposited on a cavity wall wipes off easily while it is still soft and warm, and becomes genuinely difficult once it has cooled, hardened and then been re-baked by the next cooking cycle. Thirty seconds with a damp cloth after the oven has cooled enough to touch but before it is cold prevents essentially all of the buildup that makes these appliances unpleasant. No coating, however good, beats not letting the residue polymerise in the first place.

Check What Is Actually Dishwasher Safe

Listings vary substantially in how much they commit to here, and the differences are worth reading rather than skimming. One oven names five specific dishwasher-safe parts: air fry basket, sheet pan, wire rack, broil rack and crumb tray. Another says accessories are dishwasher safe without enumerating them. One says nothing about cleaning at all. Where a rotisserie is included, check specifically whether the spit and forks are covered, because those are the parts you least want to be washing by hand.

Crumb trays are standard. Cavity coatings are not.

Common Mistakes

  • Reading ‘dishwasher-safe parts’ as an easy-to-clean oven. The parts are the easy half; the cavity is the hard half.
  • Assuming a silent listing means a good cavity. Seven of these ten simply do not say.
  • Buying a rotisserie for an easy-clean oven. It throws fat across the entire interior.
  • Choosing the largest capacity. More interior surface means more area to scrub, not less.
  • Treating ‘PFOA-free’ as meaningful. It has been true of nearly all cookware for over a decade.
  • Letting residue cool and re-bake. Thirty seconds while warm prevents almost all of it.
  • Buying a basket air fryer by mistake. The best-ranked product in this search cannot toast.

Who Should Buy Which

Buy the VAL CUCINA at $159.99 if cleaning is genuinely the priority. An enamel cavity is non-porous, will not flake and is the same material full-size ovens use — and it is one of only three listings here that names its interior at all.

Buy the ARINOO at $95.99 if you want a named coating for the least money. PFAS, PFOA and PTFE all explicitly excluded, 16 quarts, and the cheapest capacity here.

Buy the Chefman at $109.94 for the best rank and a rotisserie — provided you have read the paragraph about what a rotisserie does to a cavity and want it anyway.

Buy the Ninja French Door Premier at $299.99 if the trays are your complaint. Five removable parts all dishwasher safe, PFAS-free surfaces, and a 90-second preheat.

Buy the Ninja Air Fryer Pro at $89.99 if cleaning genuinely outranks everything. Two nonstick parts, no cavity to speak of, and rank #126 — just be clear it cannot toast or bake.

Frequently Asked Questions

What actually makes an air fryer toaster oven hard to clean?

The cavity walls, not the accessories. Air frying works by moving very hot air rapidly across food, which aerosolises fat and carries it onto every interior surface, where it bakes on at temperatures around 400°F and polymerises into a hard brown film. That surface is fixed: it does not come out, it never sees a dishwasher, and you reach it with a cloth through a door opening at an awkward angle. Removable racks, baskets and crumb trays are genuinely easy by comparison, which is why seven of the ten listings in this roundup answer a cleaning question by describing them. It is a real convenience and it addresses the smaller half of the problem.

Is an enamel interior worth paying for?

If cleaning is a priority, yes, and it is the most durable answer available in this category. Vitreous enamel is glass fused to steel at high temperature, which gives it two useful properties: it is completely non-porous, so fat sits on the surface and wipes away rather than soaking in, and it is bonded into the metal rather than applied as a layer on top, so it does not degrade, flake or lose effectiveness with age the way nonstick and ceramic coatings do. It is what full-size domestic ovens have used for decades. Its one weakness is that it can chip if struck hard with a metal pan, and a chip exposes bare steel that will then rust. Two ovens in this roundup state an enamel cavity, at $159.99 and $239.99.

What is the difference between PFAS-free, PFOA-free and PTFE-free?

They are three different claims and only two of them mean much. PFAS is the broad chemical family of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances. PTFE is the specific fluoropolymer that most conventional nonstick coatings are made from. PFOA was a processing aid historically used to manufacture PTFE and it was phased out of cookware production more than a decade ago, which means a listing advertising PFOA-free is stating something true of virtually every product on the market. The claim that actually distinguishes a coating is excluding PTFE, or the broader PFAS family, because that indicates a genuinely different chemistry such as a silica-based ceramic. One product here names all three explicitly, which is unusually clear.

Does a rotisserie make an oven harder to clean?

Considerably, and it is worth deciding whether you will use it enough to justify that. When a chicken turns on a spit for an hour, fat is flung outward across the whole cavity by the rotation rather than dripping downward into a tray, so the walls receive a much heavier deposit than any other cooking mode produces. The spit and its forks have threads and locking screws that trap cooked-on fat and are awkward to scrub, and one manufacturer here includes a dedicated retrieval tool precisely because the assembly is too hot and greasy to handle by hand. Rotisserie cooking is genuinely good; it simply sits in direct tension with wanting an oven that is easy to clean.

Are bigger ovens easier or harder to clean?

Harder, which surprises people who assume more space means better access. A larger cavity has proportionally more interior surface for aerosolised fat to settle on, so there is simply more area to wipe. Reach is the second problem: the back corners of a 37-quart box are difficult to get to through a door opening, and French door designs make this worse rather than better because the centre post restricts how far your forearm can go in. If ease of cleaning is genuinely your priority, the smaller ovens in this roundup are easier for reasons entirely separate from their materials, and a basket air fryer is easier still.

What is the single best thing I can do to keep it clean?

Wipe the cavity while it is still warm, and it costs nothing. Fat deposited during cooking is soft and easily removed while the oven is still above room temperature; once it cools it hardens, and once the next cooking cycle bakes it again it polymerises into the brown varnish that requires scrubbing and degreaser. Thirty seconds with a damp cloth after each use, at the point where the oven is cool enough to touch but not yet cold, prevents essentially all of the accumulation that makes these appliances unpleasant to own. No cavity material, however good, beats simply not letting the residue set. Enamel makes the job easier when you forget, which is the honest case for it.

Final Verdict

Best OverallVAL CUCINA 26.3 QT Enamel

An enamel cavity — non-porous, non-flaking, the material full-size ovens use — stated plainly in the listing. $159.99.

Best Coating ValueARINOO 16 QT PFAS-Free

PFAS, PFOA and PTFE all explicitly excluded, with 16 quarts of capacity, for $95.99.

Best RankChefman 12-Quart 5-in-1

Rank #839 with 12 presets, a 95–400°F range and dishwasher-safe parts, at $109.94.

Dishwasher-safe accessories are not an easy-to-clean oven. Seven of these ten answer the question that way, and they are describing the half of the job that was never difficult. The racks come out. The walls do not.

Three listings name the surface you will actually be cleaning. Two say enamel — glass fused to steel, non-porous, the material full-size ovens have used for decades. One says PFAS-free ceramic and lists the three compounds it excludes rather than waving at non-toxicity.

And weigh the features that work against you. A rotisserie throws fat across the entire cavity. A 37-quart box has far more wall than a 12-quart one. Both are good things to own and neither is easy to clean.

Buy the enamel cavity if this genuinely matters to you — and either way, wipe it out while it is still warm. That habit beats every coating on this page.
